Re: something worth seeing

That was great! Notice it was the old ladies that were the first to make the effort?  Free hugs for everybody!! smile

i liked how at first it looks like no one is gonna give him any hugs and how it's all in black & white -- & it switches up to colour & the the hugs start comin' ... i'm a sucker for happy endings ...

& i don't know a lot about "culture jamming" but this seems like something that might fit in with that 2 ... just thought it was a neat video ...

International Free Hugs Day

Participants on the forum of the official Free Hugs Campaign website have decided to declare an official International Free Hugs Day. This will fall on Saturday the 7th of July this year, or more specifically on 7/7/07. The purpose of the day is to promote the Free Hugs campaign. The organisers are hoping that hundreds of people around the world will be distributing free hugs on this day.

When I first watched this video with The Boy a few months ago he said, "You know, Ma, I'd really like to do that some day."  So I told him, "Hey, go for it!", and wondered if it was just a passing fancy.  Just found out that last weekend, on the way to the Pride Parade with a group of kids, he made a sign.  They all laughed at him.  They stopped laughing, and he stopped counting, after 240+ hugs.  And they all danced together in the fountains.  I swear, sometimes that kid makes my heart fit to burst.
