Topic: mainstream media is RIP

I just cannot watch TV and take any of it seriously. The ideas, the people, the products, news....... There is no truth on TV at all anymore not that there ever was. The net is the only place where you can get some truth. We are the media now. Its up to us to do it. They are both like two different realities. TV is Hell! Power the the ONE. Each one of us has the power to make big changes and the time is NOW!

Re: mainstream media is RIP

i totally agree with you, my friend. and im sure absolutely everyone here at NR will vouch for that too.

i have a proposal ive been thinking of;

how can we, the awakened ones, help people realize that Media is controlled ???

i have debated endlessly on some other forums with hard boiled brainwashed "people" and they wont believe any of what i have to say unless "its on CNN" or another Media Outlet. i try to tell them that these stations and channels and news places are CONTROLLED to the max, but they just call me a conspiracy theorist.

we need ideas to help wake the sheep, so lets start brainstorming some tactics.

I know myself and montalk try to do this with our websites, and it works allright, but what about the sheeple walking the streets ??

how can we expose all of this to the "common man" who is already under a hypnotic trance in their lives ?

Re: mainstream media is RIP

zonabi we have all been sheeple in the past and are still now to a cetian degree. Even the sheeple want to be free at some level but it is the fear ohf what others think of them that keeps most in their own self-emposed prison. We can be a model for being and acting free without fear. They then see us and think hey he/she did so can I. Just a though. Still there comes a point when you must face that you are a slave otherwise you will not have the will to break free. Most of us here want to be free and are free. How can we take back our media?????? Maybe it just needs to get more rotten and decay itself into nothing. Maybe there is no future for a mass media at all??????

Re: mainstream media is RIP

The best question I've found to start the awakening process in people:
"If it was proven scientifically that watching TV causes cancer, do you think you'd see That on the 6 o'clock news?"
It gets them every time.

Sometimes a trance can be broken with a snap of the fingers. Shocking one briefly to awareness. Think of ways to 'be the snapping finger' and capitalize on the opportunity to slip some truth through. Sociopathic, robotic behavior can be interrupted by unexpected or strange activity. Give the robots something that "does not compute".

Re: mainstream media is RIP

zonabi,

i think dtd is right on the money when he/she says the best we can do is to serve as a model free person -- being truly free ourselves and living without fear.  Especially without fear of what other people think -- that's the most insidious part of the prison, because it's the one for which we ourselves hold the key which allows us to escape, if we only give ourselves permission.  For some reason it took me a long time to realize that what ANY other person thinks is absolutely irrelevant to my life, my directions and my choices.

I've always been an activist type advocating for one cause or another -- always advocating for the freedom of the individual -- but I realized after awhile that you can't overcome the master whose slaves are happy.  You're wasting your energies by trying to convince them otherwise.  It's better to focus on freeing yourself alone, and those who think alike.   Doing so then may in turn lead to one or two more sheeple finally noticing your better situation and wanting it for themselves.. and then you'll be ready to help them when they finally ask for it.

Have you ever heard the audio recording of Jim Morrison shouting to his audience "you're all a bunch of f---ing slaves!  What are you going to do about it?"  only to be booed in return?  A good illustration of the concept.

morningsun76, the Jim Morrison (mr. mojo risin') exhortation you quote caused me to consider that Morrison perhaps wasn't trying to jolt his audience awake, but rather rub their noses in the truth. Asking what they were going to do about it might have been his way of telling them they could do nothing. The booing may have been a reaction to Morrison's smugness. I have not heard this audio, and likely won't, so I don't know the tone of voice used.
The lizard king was the son of a naval intel officer and he bragged that he could disappear from the scene and put on a suit at any time. Suggesting the possibility that he was actually an agent provocateur in the guise of a rockstar. Recall Ray Manzarek's remark at the Morrison grave in France: "It's too short."

No, I've listened to quite a bit of their music but don't know any of the band's history in any level of detail.    Morrison the "shaman" was the son of a spook that's a very interesting bit of trivia.  I know that Aleister Crowley also was connected to the intelligence community from the bits I've read about him.  I'm not sure I'm comfortable digging into these subjects too deeply, it almost seems like asking for trouble.

I do know that listening to a live recording of Celebration of the Lizard, all 15 or 20 minutes of it, made me wonder if I was hearing a rock song or the music accompanying some strange ritual.  The lyrics are not those of a drugged hippy but of someone very astute dealing directly with heavy-duty occult themes. I'd be very interested to know more about this particular work from the perspective of someone knowlegable in occult/esoteric subject matter.

I also think that it can be dangerous to get too deeply into these dark areas; you can see plenty from a safe distance. "If you lie down with dogs, you're apt to get up with fleas."
There are indications that Morrison was alive and cashing his own checks after his "death". It's like these "dead rockstars" might really be retired covert agents, or just on a different mission. Elvis sightings, anyone? I read something once suggesting that Elvis assassinated 2Pac! That was a weird one--or was it?
How many celebrities are actually undercover agents? Would it be impossible for media to be uninvolved in the deception? Is everything the opposite of what it seems to be?

I got an idea, we could make a bunch of cds containing info like what I posted here

http://montalk.net/forum/viewtopic.php?id=558

and then just go outside to the streets and distribute them to friendly looking people! Think about it. Wouldn't it have an impact on you if some stranger came to you and gave you info on a cd even though they're not connected with any group or organization? Just tell 'em it's free movies.

I am as is Void.

Brainstorming ideas is great but I think there is a saying:

"You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink."

Re: mainstream media is RIP

Tracy Chapman once said "You can make people aware, but you can't make them care."

Re: mainstream media is RIP

That's right.  But if you really want wisdom, maybe simplicity is the way to go:

"That dog don't hunt."

Re: mainstream media is RIP

I've noticed that people only seem to pay attention to things when it is either affecting them directly, or it is visually shocking. For some reason, if they are unable to see and feel the effects of events/issues going on in the world around them, they don't feel a need to change anything. It's like it's not really happening... And when it comes to spiritual awareness, well, no amount of information which you throw at people will make them spiritual. That has to come from the inside. They have to ask the questions first before they will start seeking answers.

Xelator, you're right, and unfortunately, people can only look away from these things for so long before it comes time to pay the price of their willful ignorance.   Big things are about to happen, and soon I suspect.

Re: mainstream media is RIP

I had a friend who was at an amusement park when a ride malfunctioned. When he saw the story on the news that evening, the facts had been totally distorted in order to make the incident sound like a much bigger deal than it was. The news report magnified the extent of the injuries and the extent of the damage to the point of actually making some things up. That woke him up to the fact that the newsmedia isn't trustworthy. But not everybody can have such an experience.

It's true. Most people have to experience hypocracy and lies firsthand before they realize there's something going on. It's kind of funny how a person will refuse to listen to anybody about media lies (or police brutality, or government corruption, etc.) until they are directly victimized. Once they're inside the monster's jaws they start screaming "THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!" but ironically, nobody will listen. I think a lot of people subconsciously hope that if they keep their eyes averted, don't make waves, and don't question the system, their ignorance will magically protect them. They stupidly hope the system won't eat one of its own. So they shy away from any knowledge of its operation. Then they get victimized, and while they're sliding down the monster's gullet they're crying "I THOUGHT WE HAD A DEAL!"

I've found documentaries like Outfoxed: Rupert Murdoch's War on Journalism to be quite illuminating. It talks about how the corporate higher-ups pass down their instructions on what is to be focused on, and what is to be avoided. There's also a documentary called The Corporation which among other things features a story about a couple of reporters who were pressured to rewrite a story about the dangers of a synthetic cow hormone getting into people's milk. It shows how they were told to lie. There's also a documentary called Spin which shows a lot of behind-the-scenes media stuff, like the way guests on news shows are coached to evade direct questions, and the way the media shuts out those who aren't connected to the system.

In addition to outright lies and misinformation, there's also the "lulling" effect of the mainstream media. Every time I accidentally catch a snippet of a local news show they're carrying on about the stupidest, most meaningless drivel. I saw a segment where they spent 5-7 minutes interviewing a guy who showed them how to brew tea. Tea! Leaves and hot water! They made a cup on air while the reporter ooh'd and aah'd like it was the most amazing thing she'd ever seen. It was nothing but a brain-numbing advertisement for the guy's company, which was selling tea at the outdoor food festival that week. That was only a few months ago, too, so it's not like there weren't more important matters to talk about. But I think the pure audacity of showing this kind of mindless stuff is a way of imparting to the viewer the idea that "everything is just fine, because if it wasn't we wouldn't have time to waste with this fluff."

It gets them every time.

True dat! I'll definitely use that one. Thanks!

In the end, it's most important to work on yourself. In doing the work, you will naturally become a shining example of truth. Why would anybody want to watch the lies on TV when they could have a conversation with you? wink Some people can't be helped, of course, but one can use discernment in dealing with them. I'm midway through reading the second part of the Cassiopae.org stuff on Mouravieff and Esoteric Christianity, and it has some good info on lying. (Do a "Ctrl+F" and look for "problem of lying".) It says to learn to stop lying to others, then learn to stop lying to yourself, which is solid advice.
