Are those out already?  How did I miss the release date??  I used to get every new Tori album first thing in the morning on the day it came out.  And I called in sick to work more than once to buy concert tickets on the internet pre-sale.  Now it all just flashes by me somehow. 

There's a new Bjork album coming out soon too! smile

NIN is out but Tori isn't I just had a nice person who sent it to me early. I still pre-ordered my copy it comes out the first week of May.

howdy,

this is one of my first posts, but i've been lookin at this thread in my lurking.

i post to mention Kayo Dot

they are a great "post rock" band.  they arent for the easily bored;  12 minute songs with long instrumental passages.  but they are bloody brilliant, and i might say that they are the best band ever.(you dont know anything about music, and I KNOW ALL big_smile ) 

listen to them on myspace or find them through your sharing friends. 

also someone probably mentioned Godspeed You Black Emperor already.  supposedly "Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven" album syncs with "Dark City" movie like Floyd and the Wizard(thats on youtube btw), but havent gotten around to try it yet.

My musical tastes change wildly every few months, and I've been obsessively collecting vinyl and mp3s since the late '90s, so I've ended up with over 10,000 albums worth of stuff backed up on CDRs and packed into record crates. smile But for the past year especially I have been really loving these artists:

Susumu Yokota - especially Grinning Cat, gorgeous psychedelic ambient music, his albums go back and forth between dance and ambient

Anything by Rhythm & Sound, check out King In My Empire, or the s.t CD, or the Simiyah remix album, it is all sooo good. Deep, abstract dub-tinged ambient techno... like nothing else! Well, there are some like-minded artists too, on record labels like Chain Reaction, Kompakt, Echocord, and others.

I love Deepchord! Oh man, if you can find any Deepchord, check it out! Unfortunately all the vinyl was like limited edition of 100 copies, so they are super-scarce. It is GREAT stuff though, totally inspired by Rhythm & Sound / Basic Channel, but taking it in new directions. Especially DC10 and DC11 12"s, and the Vibrasound Years CD, and the Illuminati Audio Science mix CD, just GORGEOUS deep endless ambient dub-techno! (edit: oops, some of his stuff is also released under the name Rod Modell, look for that too)
