Topic: Bands join the GW bandwagon
Organizers of a global concert to raise awareness about climate change say Madonna and the Red Hot Chili Peppers will be among the performers.
The organizers hope the concerts in seven countries in July will reach an audience of two billion people. The concerts will take place in Johannesburg, South Africa, London, Britain, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Shanghai, China, Sydney, Australia, Tokyo, Japan, and the United States, where a location has not yet been determined.
Former U.S. Vice President Al Gore is helping to promote the "Live Earth" concerts. He says he hopes the event will create the foundation of understanding needed to help solve the problem of global warming.
Other performers scheduled to appear for the concert in Britain are Genesis, Duran Duran, James Blunt, the Beastie Boys, the Black Eyed Peas, and Corinne Bailey Rae.
Oh boy here we go again with rock and pop celebs as politcal pawns showing us the error of our ways by joining Al Gore, oh well back to the mansion and the green lifestyle for them afterwards ![]()
