Topic: Paradise "Road Closed"

My current thesis is that the road to Paradise is marked by a "Road Closed" sign. Only the courageous and adventurous will find the true evidence of this thesis. People who buy into illusion have their reasons.

What is the major obstacle to your bliss?

Due to budget cutbacks the light at the end of the tunnel has been removed.

Why then do you live in a dark tunnel? Be more creative, and be the joyful observer of your own creation. Depending on the approval of others, or the appreciation from those who cannot create beauty, nor feel the joy,  is the tunnel.  Observe. Appreciate. Create. Share.

Twas a joke actually.  I seen that quote on a sign at a desk in the place you pay traffic tickets.

My thought upon reading it in that place was "how appropriate".

Yes, you are right. The traffic court needs a sense of humour... and a bit of common decency. Were you speeding towards the end of the tunnel? wink big_smile

Re: Paradise "Road Closed"

Yea, I certainly wasn't speeding towards the end of the line.  It was one of those moments, though.  Waiting 45 minutes to pay a ticket.  At the end of the line is a middle aged woman with a scowl on her face.  And then I read that sign.

Your post reminded me of it.

Re: Paradise "Road Closed"

If there is a hell...there's a line similar to the traffic court line; it is an eternal line. When you get to the counter the middle-aged woman says, "Sorry, but you haven't properly filled out all the questions, you'll have to complete the form and get in line again. No matter what you do, you find you can never succeed in filling out the form correctly.

And in the lobby is a TV blaring-- repeating the laugh tracks from sit-coms. Occasional interruptions by the National Alert System testing and crackly announcements of line ticket numbers...."now serving numbers 19 through 90"

Re: Paradise "Road Closed"

Paradise doesn't exist... we live in maya.. wink

nothing is sacred, the deconstructing and letting-be of all things, clarity of sight, the realization of no-thing(s), Nothing

Re: Paradise "Road Closed"

For the mystics this manifestation is real, but it is a fleeting reality; it is a mistake, although a natural one, to believe that maya represents a fundamental reality.

Mystics hold that there is a deeper, more fundamental state of existence hidden beneath the appearances of day–to–day living (which may become, to the mystic, superficial or epiphenomenal). For the authentic mystic, unity is both the internal and external focus as one seeks the truth about oneself, one's relationship to others and Reality (both the world at large and the unseen realm). The mystic's motivation for such an arduous endeavor appears to be unique to the individual and culture, and sometimes a new religion, order or sect may be the legacy. Generally approached through the purification processes of prayer, meditation, contemplation (communion with Reality) and other means, the mystic seeks to transcend his internal duality (struggle/jihad between true self/Atman and ego beliefs/misperceptions of the given) that constrains his direct experience of the divine.

Mysticism is not an opinion; it is not a philosophy. It has nothing in common with the pursuit of occult knowledge .... It is the name of that organic process which involves the perfect consummation of the Love of God: the achievement here and now of the immortal heritage of man. Or, if you like it better -- for this means exactly the same thing -- it is the art of establishing...[a] conscious relation with the Absolute...It remains a paradox of the mystics that the passivity at which they appear to aim is really a state of the most intense activity: more, that where it is wholly absent no great creative action can take place. In it, the superficial self compels itself to be still, in order that it may liberate another more deep-seated power which is, in the ecstasy of the contemplative genius, raised to the highest pitch of efficiency. Re: Paradise "Road Closed"

I assume you are agreeing with me.. in that Maya "doesn't exist", so it can be paradise.. there ain't no roads though, just site-to-site teleportation... and even then only in the sense of warping space around you as opposed to moving through it yourself. 8-)
