Well, what's really funny is that after she slapped me, she came to herself and realized what she had done.  She then began gently pawing, like she might do with a ball of yarn, and her fact turned kittenish, as if to say "Oh, See!  I was just playing.  Ha ha..."  Of course, I scratched her behind the ears, and she did her patented "trill, drop and roll" so that I could pet her belly.  It was all good after that. 

She's definitely not lacking in personality.  I don't know how she would stack up to your cat, but she's the smartest cat I've ever had.  And devious, too!

Here's my babies!  The black dog is actually no longer with us... but he's the best dog ever... I've never been closer to another animal.  He really was amazing.  He had so many human characteristics!  People would always take to him immediately, even if they weren't "dog people".  There was just something very special about him.  Any one of you that has has a similar connection with a pet is exteremely lucky!  I'll have to post a picture of the poor blind deaf 'ol cat that lives at my house later, too.

Correction.  Lyra is that kitty's person.     She probably owns you too, but you just don't know it yet.

Aw, Sophie is so beautiful-- and shiny, too.  You must have just given her a bath. 

So, if Sophie acts more like a cat.... has she slapped you in the face lately?

Hahaha! Wellll... no. She's pretty good about not slapping too much, it's like she's aware how big and strong she is (75 lbs, part Chow Chow). And her coat always seems to be shiny like that, somehow. Shines blue, with or without a bath.

Though you know that thing kitties do with their paws when you pet their bellies? Sophie does that too. And she's great at suddenly becoming aloof if you don't do or say what she wants. And once she's outside, she pretends she doesn't know her name and can't hear you... until she decides you're useful to her in some way. LOL! And she would never... ever... seek to please you. You live to please her, 'nuf said. One of her other many, many names is "Demando Girl". *heehee*

We got her from a rescue shelter when she was 3. She'd been neglected and abandoned a number of times and they said she was dangerous and difficult to place. But we never had trouble with her! I think she was just waiting for us. We're a perfect fit.

Our youngest, Chip (aka Bigboy aka Chipperdoo...needy, greedy, short-changed in the brains department, basically a big galoot )

Little Cat (doesn't play well with others of the feline variety)

Munchkin (gone to a new home)

Hyde (used to live with Zeke but that didn't work out, also doesn't play well with others of the aquatic variety)

And Bratt, My Very Good Dog, my darling, my best friend, my loyal protector (played well with most everyone, especially little ones, but not drunks or those of questionable character, smarter than most people I've met, incredible crooner, particular in his musical tastes, often purred...my heart still aches for you, My Bobbins)
