Topic: Best way to cleanse a furniture item

Well, I can't believe I did it, but I took a piece of that old, accursed house I used to live in with me.  It was a wall-mount table that my hubby loved, and the landlady said we could have it.  As I looked at it last night, I realized that it had been in the car with me when the gas can hit my windshield that night.  Now it's cleansing time.

I currently have it lying in the sun in a bed of clover.  I think Treehugger was the one who suggested doing this.  Any idea how many days of sun it needs, and what else should I do?  I plan on placing a small piece of obsidian on it and smudging it with sage.  Any other ideas?

Wipe the thing down with vinegar, underneath, all over.

And then really decide if you need to keep it.

Re: Best way to cleanse a furniture item

Lono, leave it for a few days if you can. You could also set a jar of water with sea salt on it. Im not sure how to explain how to tell if its cleansed. I just get a sense of it feeling okay. Maybe close your eyes and run your hand along it. With me, I get an overwhelming sense of beauty of the wood or its lines, or a feeling of its sending back good good vibes to me. Whereas before, I would have felt a creepiness, or a little anxious when I  touched it, or that something was just off-feeling.
I also have to say though, that on occasions, nothing seems to work, and you just have to get rid of it.
Hope that helps. smile

Thanks for the help, guys.  I have some sea salt on hand, and I have vinegar.  That's an action plan!
