It seems that Laura and Co. have forgotten the foundational unity of creation that the C's mentioned on numerous occasions, accusing everyone that disagrees as an OP (organic portal) or Cointelpro agents, a loveless path.  They have taken the original OP theory and misshapen and misapplied it to a point of losing meaning. The QFG believe they have the right to criticize everyone but themselves and with their levels of contempt and disdain they only further their own separation from that unified creative force.  I know they will "come around" at some point, whether this incarnation or another, and wish them all the success in achieving said unity "one"ce again.  As noted already, they have shut off intuition and how can one "know" and "love" the creator/creation without it?  Logic and "thinking with a hammer" can only take you so far and perhaps they have reached that finite destination, forgetting at the pitstop of supposed discernment the rest of the journey to come.

Maybe they would benefit from heeding some of Wayne Dyer's dumbed down spiritual wisdom.  In his book The Power of Intention there is a ditty of a story about someone's use of "rule #3".  Rule #3 is simply "Don't take yourself so goddamned seriously!"

Hmmm, GreyCat...  Have you read the writings of the fraud himself? Not all thecrap other are telling about his teachings, but the source itself? I find Gurdjieff really cool. But the man is gone and i do not trust any forum. I read an exellent book by Ouspensky "In Search Of The Miraculous" and i must say it is one of THE BOOKS for me. Ouspensky is very interesting anyway, he introduced the dimensional model of the Self/Soul as early as 1909. I read "the New model of the universe" and i can only recommend it to anybody.
My advise: wenn it comes to Gurdjieff don't forget Ouspensky.:rolleyes: And forget that forums. Seems to be just another blah-blah-blah thing.

I have only recently read the writings and materials, and I am also mystified with the emphasis on re-writing and delving into ancient history and also the modern political analysis emphasis. I find montalk's writing much more profound because it is original and not derivative from all of these confusing theories and information, even though he may springboard off of other channels or theories, there is basically a new synapse so to speak, branching off into his own work, I think that this is due to his foundation in truth analysis, or critical analysis. Reality is very fractured right now as it is, so it is important for individuals to have a method for putting together reality for themselves independent of the glut of information coming from this realm and all of the other ones as well. The thing that I find the most helpful in the SOTT archives is the work that has been done exposing mind control experiments by the mental health industry and how these have come out of Nazi medicine and so forth-lala

I've read Meetings With Remarkable Men and Beelzebub's Tales to His Grandson.
  And firstly let me just say that I'm reacting with anger to the way his teachings have been blown out of porportion. I admit that. Getting thrown off the SOTT forum effected me more than a bit. I've been struggling with some of thier philosophies for a while and just could no longer agree with them.
  G's works are thought provoking. But to say 'man is essentially asleep' stinks of Elite-ism. Man, as in the human race is dealing with thier reality at thier own pace. Who is he to judge?
Although I never met the man personally, he has all the tell tale signes of enjoying his guru-hood way too much. That cannot, of course be confirmed. It was something he mentioned in Mettings W/ Remarkable Men, about working in the market as a young man. He seemed to always know what product to sell, depending on the demands of the people in the market. Same goes for his philosophy. He was a keen bussinesman, G.
  The man was also an alcoholic and died of liver related health problems. How much can you REALLY be checking in to yourself if you are constantly disrespecting ones physical vehicle? It's just not too sensible.
The brain cannot function without the body. So if your wreaking it, then your messing with the foundation of your very being here on earth. It can't help to clairfy things, I think. And clarity is the key no? I'm not saying I want to live forever. But I sure would like to buy as much time possible to FIGURE THINGS OUT. 
  I'm not saying one should live like a monk (I sure don't.). But there is a point where too much is too much.

  I think the Ra Material says it best. The individual brilliancy of the centers is not as important. Whats important is that all the centers have a balance between them. When they are all activated to the basic amount, the individual can progress at a more constant rate.
  G was a man with a powerful mind. And I think he failed to see the important lessons one can learn by lending that power to develop and understand the body and spirit.

Saying that "man is essentially asleep" may sound elitist, but like the saying
goes:  in the land of the blind, the one-eyed are kings.

I think it's perfectly all right to say that mankind is asleep.  If we weren't
we wouldn't be having wars and destroying the planet and acting like
animals letting our reptile brains control us. 

And, by the way, there's nothing wrong with being elitist. 
As long as you are one of the elite.

I doubt Gurdjieff was an elitist. He was a tough guy, indeed, but elitist? I think he was another "great pretender".  No, i think he was very human.  It seems to me that true awakening and snotty elitism are quite incompatible...  Awakening without compassion is just another nightmare.  I don't feel that G. was that way.

Being awake while others are asleep puts one in an elite status.
Gurdjieff was a very human person who by the fact of his awareness
was automatically an elite human.

Perhaps the better word would be enlightened.

Umm, yes, i think "enlightened" is better. "Elitism" is a strange word; i think it was coined by "them" in order to get humans lured into a trap of exquisite egotism. It is difficult to define it...enlightened ones are indeed an elite of humankind, but they are not elitists.

This might be just a deal of semantics. By Elite I mean "I'm BETTER than you". As opposed to "I'm DIFFERENT from you". I'm quite aware of how different I am to normal humans. And I shun most of them and don't care to share my time with them. I get aggrevated because thier lousy, unbalanced way of living is focred upon me at every corner.  It drains me. But I don't think I'm 'better'.
     I still think that it's just part of a natural evolutionary process. Neither is better or worse. It's just seeing what you see and going from there. As the C's say, enjoy the ride. You repeat the lessons till you don't need them anymore and then go on to the next.
    Right now, I couldn't possibly think of 'loving everyone'. Not in the gooey, new age sense. I even don't have that much compassion for people who have dug thier own graves (that chages considerable for the innocent or young.).
   But maybe thats what happens when the wave hits and you see the bigger picture. Right now we're caught in the middle of it, trying to survive when we are being drained left and right buy a canibalistic civilization.
    But if we were looking at it from above, able to see the pain and lonliness of everyone, maybe we would have a deep sense of compassion for all on the planet. Maybe we would even come down and help those who call out in pain. I don't know, I'm not there...

  So thats what I meant.
  As for G, I didn't know the man. But alot of the folks following his stuff are sure pulling it out of porportion...

GreyCat, you're talking about the Boddhisattva role.  From that viewpoint
you can see how the entire history of humanity is one big awful writhing
mess of pain with occasional glimmers of joy.  From that place one can
feel compassion for us all.  Meanwhile, as you say, we have to protect
ourselves from ignorance and the cannibalistic ways of our fellow humans.
It takes all your energy just to keep your periscope above the bullshit.

semantics can cause blazing disputes although the rivals may often have the same opinion when it comes to the core of the discussion. This is actually the thing i want to tell here. roll Let's think about semantics and don't waste our power & time.

Hehehehe, that's not bad, GC!  Would you believe that i started a topic  "The New Age Sucks!" some time ago? LOL. I know, Noblerealms is a huge space and one simply cannot be informed about every post here. The problem is that the new-agey body of thought has taken a lot of ideas from the ancient sacred textes, serious western esoterica, modern science, etc etc.. Unfortunately, what they have made out of it is ridiculous and even dangerous, it's a junk food for the soul; and it is not good at all because now, if people talk about these ideas, they are supposed to be new-agers  - even if they despise that movement - like many here.
And you surely must not love everyone. Love yourself though, we can  never really love anyone if we don't love ourselves. SamIam is right on it.

I'm not THAT young. And it's a relative term anyway. Depends on how you look at it. From a hyperdimensional perspective, we are ALL quite young here. But anyway, I agree with how the new age following can be downright dangerous.

  I believe in myself, in what I have seen both on this realms and off. I'm invested with all my being to learn more, and to find a way of living in harmony with others of the same lot. I have a strong sense of will to see myself through. So I guess thats love. Though 'love yourself' is one of those goey phrases that we spoke of above.
   I always have to go back to Taoism. It's for me, the most 'answerless' of all the paths. It's just..everything. And you go at it from there.
  The first line of the Tao Te Ching is a topic of much translational debate. But some scholars suggest it means 'the way that is written is not the way'. It would go quite well with this thread. Poor Lao Tzu, he got on his ox back up into the mountains and left a written document behind that basically suggests that to write it is to limit it...

I was contacted from an add on craigslist by a guy who lives a little bit far from the city (Montreal)... I was looking for work, and he asked me if I'd want to help him distribute books from Red Pill Press, which he apparently holds exclusive distribution rights in Eastern Canada to. I told him that subject material, of which SOTT and the Cassiopaean materials are related, is right up my alley, and I'd be delighted to. The problem is his number is never in service when I call, and e-mail communication is also difficult. Last I heard he was coming to the city for a bit, but I can't contact him. I was wanting to do some research to see if the books Red Pill Press distributes are actually agreeable to me.

I guess I should check SOTT out more closely. I definitely got really bad vibes from Gurdjieff people.. probably lots of conspirators there.. similar to say the LaRouche political movement - telling the truth like hardly any others do, but mixing it with a few key insidious lies that screw up a person's works like a real bad monkey wrench. One thing that's completely certain in my mind is that if Gurdjieff people are as ignorant as they're being made out to be, you can bet the ones truly influencing others, the ones that the rational mind will ask of "OK they seem rational and they're going along with it, so it can't be all hokus pokus", most of these people are acting quite purposefully indeed as conspirators... the head honcho doesn't even need to be in on it.

I suppose I should check SOTT out for myself with an open mind before jumping to conclusions.

I used to live in Montreal. I still have a place there and I swing by now and again.
    What kind of books are they? It he has a site, let me know and I'll check him out.
    Check out SOTT if you'd like. I think thier news coverage is quite good. And yes, they come across as rational and effective, with quite a few monkey wrenches to boot. I'm quite happy that things went the way they did. Some of those wrenches were messing with my mind.
