palulukon, thanks for your research, and for your kind description of Cooper. Up until a few weeks ago, when I heard the audio recording of a radio show from 10 years ago, I was unsure of Cooper's mental state. Having read the book many years ago, I was left with questions about his sanity, primarily due to the (lack of) editing and some comments he made in the book. When I can listen to or watch an individual, I get a lot more information than by reading a book. I'm sorry now that I didn't come to the realization earlier that Cooper was a true patriot, a real american willing to sacrifice all for others.  He was an authentic human doing an important work. He was also, by virtue of his relative obscurity, an easy target for TPTB. It was a simple matter to make him look the nutjob to anyone buying the media propaganda, but as stated earlier, experiencing him for yourself via audio or video artifacts clears up any misconceptions about the man. Thanks again, and let's keep this thread going.

Best thing would be to get it onto digital format and make it available to people through the web.  Have you heard from Cooper's website that the rights to the movie are share and share alike (you mentioned your friend saying this)?  The worst thing that could happen when posting it to the web is that someone asks that it be taken down.  But if it's available closed doors, there's no real concern with having videos online.

Hosting a small audio/video library for readers of the NR is a possibility - if this interested others.  Again, it's just the rights that must be known (but most can be worked around by only sharing between a few).

A video library at NR is a tremendous idea, cameron. Maybe Tom would be into it...?
It's possible that a DVD of Cooper's material is available from his website. When I have the time, I'll look around.

There are audio tapes available, presumably of Cooper's radio shows, but I didn't find any video there or in a google search. I'll keep looking. Here's the link to Cooper's site:

Hi z,

thook is going to call a friend today to see if he can put it on dvd...not sure if he can, but worth a try.

planning on sending you a copy as you said you could help with distribution...

researched last night and a group got copyright to cooper's materials in the interest of keeping them public...will ck it out more to see if there are restrictions on posting the material and if there are links to such...

have not had a chance to get vhs tapes and try the hook up to make copies, but will this week...we can email to exchange info.

Cooper says that on the video, to copy and distribute, only not charge, give freely...damn, guess that means the first born thing is out...

just wanting to ck that if we did get on dvd and were able to upload if there would be any restrictions...

Once the DVD is burned, it can be replicated in cheaper ways - for example, converted to RealVideo, Quicktime, DivX, or Windows Media format and burned to a regular CD-R. It will only be playable on a computer, but for quick distribution at minimal cost, it's something to consider. And because it's digital, making copies doesn't degrade the quality. Only hurdle is getting it from VHS to something digital. 

If it's burned to Video-CD format, then it can be played on most DVD machines AND computer CDROM drives that don't have DVD capability. Just takes the right software, that's all.

okay, let me ck around...i had wondered how to burn to cd...but it is about 2 hrs long (think) will time it when we watch it again, hopefully tonight.  Being that long would it not take a mound of cds?  This is new ground for me, but am a quick study.

what kind of softs are we talking about...I do have resources to softs...can you name specific progs?
