Topic: What was 2006 about for you?

There are a few threads looking at 2007 in one way or another.  I still like to spend some time looking back though - for comtemplation and the like.  With that in mind - what was 2006 about for you?

For me it was about breaking free and realising that I don't know anywhere near as much as I thought I did.  And finally coming to terms with that and being able to admit it both to myself and then to others.  I'm hoping that's a good place to be in...it certainly feels fine.

Re: What was 2006 about for you?

2006 was definitely about relationships for me.  A whole lot of sorting through the bull and healing of rifts and misunderstandings took place.  And becoming more authentic went hand-in-hand with that.  It's hard to really tell which was the cause and which was the effect.  But it came down to deciding what I really wanted and having the courage to ask for it.  I first had to learn who I really am before I could figure out what I really wanted.  At that point all of my relationships dramatically changed, for I had changed inside.

Overall, it was a very good year.  smile

Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.

I think I know enough of hate

smile  Cool thread topic.

At the start of 2006 I told several people that it felt like restraints had been lifted.  It's hard to explain, but basically, before this year, I felt like I was being locked into place....there were things I wasn't "allowed" to do.  But at the start of '06 I felt like those restraints had been lifted, and anything was possible.  I was free to go.  Leave.  The door is open.  Like for instance, if I'd wanted to previously up and move to some crazy area that wasn't right for me, I wouldn't have been "allowed" to do it.  Stuff would have made sure that I didn't.  Interpersonal relationships were also freed up - missions had been accomplished you could say, so now keeping people in one's life was up in the air.  To do so was now even more so out of freewill choice than it had been.   So yeah, now anything was possible, anything was allowed.  I'm not sure what the reasoning is for that, but that's what I felt.  Possibly it means it doesn't matter anymore?  It's the end of the line, or else some MAJOR shifting is in the works.  I don't know.   But I kept telling people last January, "Anything is possible...."  it was this feeling that the pen had been opened and the herd could... go.

In looking back at '06 it's been quite a ride, and I'd like to think I lived up to the freedom and freeing up of restraints.  Diligently wrote the material throughout Dec. '05 and Jan. 06 to launch my website in February.  Started writing a book in March which was done by the summer.  And tackled new challenging hobbies that had been in the back of my mind for awhile in August, like crocheting and knitting.  smile  Vowed to be proficient by winter and to knit my first sock come spring '07.  Well, last night into today I figured out sock construction and can now knit a sock, so I'm ahead of myself!  big_smile New Year's resolution already accomplished. haha

But yeah, to me, it all ties back into that feeling of things being "freed up." The pen opening up so the herd can leave.  Or at least begin the process of leaving.  Which ties into some really important concepts and ideas that were discussed throughout '06 here at NR that pertain to spiritual freedom, things that weren't addressed before this year.  Maybe we can't leave all at once in one move, maybe it's a step by step process.  Maybe the sensation of being "freed up" has to do with the next lock opening up.

Re: What was 2006 about for you?

Fascinating topic.

To me, 2006 was about giving. I started the year concerned with me; problems, worries, troubles about me. What I learned last year seems cliche but it actually happened; the more I gave the more I got and a pile of those problems, worries, troubles evaporated. Really strange. wink

Re: What was 2006 about for you?

For me the last year has been overcoming depression which set in as a result of all of my old belief systems dying.  I have been trying to find ways to be positive in the face of all the negative crap that is going on.  Seeing myself as a rat in a cage while the Hyper dimensional scientists run experiments on me and my oblivious counterparts.  I must say that I am handling it a lot better then I was a year ago.  Next year I will need to become proactive in my new mindset.

Re: What was 2006 about for you?

2006 was just about chillaxing, going to the beach reading the various books I've discovered. Going canoe camping for a week with some friends was a highlight. That was my summer, my school year was alright...I ended the year with an idea of what I want to major in at university.
This is going to be an exciting life.

Re: What was 2006 about for you?

I took a journey to a particularly rotten sector of hell that lasted most of the year.
Whilst there I pretty much got my ass kicked every day.
I encountered the greatest petty tyrant I have ever seen on the path.
The scientologists would have a field day in this matter.
I saw the Tonal of 2 former localities more clearly and then saw yet another....all mirroring an archetypal pattern that the herd moves to thru the mechanisms of the ego and the extradimensional game masters. I was reminded of how Tsarion spoke about how many are not living from the genuine self and it was all mirrored in the Tonal right on down to the BS message boards and all the females who are selling virtuality on geo cities addresses. I noticed alot of people in human form that cannot stay in the present moment for the duration of a sentence within a so called conversation. I saw plans within plans and people taking up beliefs [baggage] and causes without fully considering all the permutations of their choices thinking that is has to be damn complicated...but I reminded a few when I had the chance that,
" matters of spirit are simple. " If its complicated walk the other way.
I saw very clearly how many gurus and wannabe gurus are seeking to crystallize and limit information and sequester group energy.....some clever intellects who enjoy just doing a circular dance over and over and over. Myself and others noticed how inept the logical mind is when divorced from our Multidimensional relational mind.
I saw some willful people that don't want to wake up and then I saw some very gifted ones that are doing everything possible to become fluid like water.
I saw and connected with some very loving people and found great beauty in nature.
I saw some good ideas and wise words.
It was a blessed year.

Re: What was 2006 about for you?

2006 has been another good year of growth. It's my first year at university and it has been a good transition. I'm still comtemplating about a lot of things in my life but at the moment currently learning a lot about productivity and self-development from Steve Pavlina's site (www.stevepavlina.com). I've bought an iPod shuffle (my old Zen Micro had sound problems, I have to admit iPods are pretty good) which I can now use to listen to personal development audio programs when I go for walks and play basketball (also a new pursuit). I'm currently listening to Dale Carnegie's How to Win Friends and Influence People. I downloaded lots of these sorts of programs from bit torrents which is such a good resource!

2007 I feel is going to be even better!

Re: What was 2006 about for you?

Well... I spent a lot of '06 avoiding working a a regular job, reading a lot of NR, links, tried to get through a bunch of books and articles and expand my horizons. Supposedly it was a 9 year for me numerologically, but I didn't really feel like everything I worked at the past 9 years summing up. I don't know. I think I've learned a lot from people around here over the last year. So many little gems of advice that I wish I could keep in mind more often. I'm not feeling so negative/tired/burnt out any more. Now it seems like change is the order of the day. From the few people I've surveyed going into 07 the feelings are positive and optimistic. and now, 2007, does this mean it is collectively a 9 year? Thanks everyone.

Re: What was 2006 about for you?

Hmm, looking back I realize that I hate '06. Yep, that's it. I really learnt a lot, progress was very fast. But '06 definitely sucks. Some years are like that in my life. I never liked and still don't remember good about 92, 97 and now 06. The most interesting thing is, these years had big changes or progress. Some lessons are hard it seems!

Re: What was 2006 about for you?

For me 2006 was the year the universe came crashing in through the back door.  I invited it to sit down and we spent many hours exploring each other over endless cups of tea (the organic black variety, milk no sugar).  Consequently, it was the year I started to take myself seriously, the year I started living dangerously, the year I began to take a stand as an infinite sovereign being.

It began with my own personal woo woo stuff (actually that started end of 2005), leading to thinking about stuff that I had actually experienced, leading to hours of sorting through aaaallllllll sorts on the internet (ah, the year we got broad band in the place of love), leading to me wondering if I was actually insane, leading me to montalk, in2worlds and (the most) Noble Realms, leading me to thinking about more stuff that I had actually experienced, leading me into all sorts of amazing conversations (www & irl), co-incidences, synchs, dreams, links, travels, which of course led me to yet more personal experiences to think about.  And so, 2006 mostly went on like that.  Consequently, I wake up feeling like a kid again, energetic, alive, excited, aware.  In 2006 I discovered without a shadow of doubt that there is magic everywhere, and so much magic inside.  I don't know how else to describe it, other than magic.

During the pre-christmas festivities around here (my local) I noticed a lightness I never have at this time of year, in everyone.  I hold great love and hope and gratitude in my heart for all that is.  That especially includes everyone here, you've helped to make it an awsome ride, and I'm happy to be sliding into 2007 with yas all...   wink:D

Re: What was 2006 about for you?

2006 mostly sucked for me too but I wouldn't go back and change anything because many important lessons were learned. I'll spare all the details but it started with me going bankrupt and things went rapidly downhill from there!!

2006 felt like one huge test - test of strength, test of character, test of how well I can survive with almost no money! I think I passed with flying colours! big_smile

Things finally started to improve considerably in September and have continued to get better, and 2007 is looking like it could be an amazing year! I for one am very excited! smile
