Topic: Questions about atrological stuff...

Hey everyone,

Pretty new here on this forum..posted just today.  :-)

I am curious about astrological science and what, if anything I might be able to learn from it.  I will say right off the bat that I do not disbelieve nor believe the validity of it in any way.  I do wonder about my own personal chart and if anyone can hyelp me with it or in making one and interpreting it.  I would not ask except that I just had a massive memory hit me hard today.

I do not know if it is a waking life experience or what it has anything to do with, but I distinctly remember going into a weird shop once and having my chart looked over and being asked to immediately leave the person's presence (angry they were) without getting the reading, or whatever you call it.  There was something about alot of fire and dragons and blah blah blah.  Maybe it is all in my head but I would like to know if I am a severe problem to myself or someone else and don't even know it.  I have had a HUGE surge of health problems and sicknesses come over me, including massive pains in areas of my spine etc.  that are not norma.  I am wondering if something odd is going on.  I need some help, thats for sure.

If someone can help me please let me know.  I will give any information I can to get a good handle on this.  Astrological science is not my strong point and I have no desire to really learn about it myself.  I do, on the other hand believe there could be something there and this memory...among others is starting to bother me.

Thanks

Hi bloom, and welcome!

A couple resources to check out:
http://www.astro.com - good source for learning about astrology.  You can specifically have a free natal chart done at: http://www.astro.com/horoscopes/ahor.asp

http://www.lipstickmystic.com/ - our very own LipstickMystic has a very helpful, comprehensive, and accessible site.

cheers

Thanks visavis for the links.  I will give it a try.  As of yet I have never successfully been able to understand this stuff.

Welcome!

A decent astrology program you can grab on the net is astro123

Put in accurate data and it'll throw your chart for you. The interpretations are perforce mechanical, it can't confront the different influences, only list them, but it's still a handy program.

Make sure you get daylight savings right... I spent a year convinced I was Libra rising 'cause I forgot to adjust for winter hmm

I had that chart thing done not too long ago, suprised me actually in it's chilling accuracy yikes

Re: Questions about atrological stuff...

Does anyone know of a site that lists planetary aspects (like venus square jupiter, etc...) and what they mean, not in the sense of what it means if it's in your natal chart, but what general influence an alignment exerts upon people at large on any given day? Is there a special name for this particular type of astrology? I tried to look it up, but all I get is stuff from natal astrology.

Re: Questions about atrological stuff...

Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but it popped into my mind when I read your post, so I did a quick check. "Aspect Astrology"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astrological_aspect

The trouble is, it seems most astrologers focus on aspects in a birth chart, but I don't think that's all it's about.

Re: Questions about atrological stuff...

I think it's called Mundane Astrology, which deals with say, Jupiter
opposing Saturn or some such aspect and treating it as a pure
description of the forces interacting, rather than applying it to a
particular person's unique viewpoint.  It's like descriptions of
Weather Phenomenae except instead of describing the conditions
that make a tornado likely, you would be describing what might
happen under a bad aspect between Mars and Pluto.

There is an astrologer I use, Chris Hedlund, who writes like this
on what is currently going on and what is coming.
His latest report is entitled 2007-2019: Remaking the World:
The Return of the Cycle that Generated the 1960's

Plus he does an email which gives you the Week Ahead and
gives you a heads-up on all the upcoming things to watch
out for or take advantage of.  How these things affect you
personally depends on where these events occur in your
chart.  But knowledge of the prevailing "weather" is useful
in itself as vital data to navigate your day with.

Re: Questions about atrological stuff...

What about horary astrology?

Re: Questions about atrological stuff...

Hoary astrology is to take a snapshot of the factors
active upon a person at a particular time,
usually with a question in mind.

Re: Questions about atrological stuff...

Thanks for all those links and tips.  I looked up mundane astrology and it gets close, though from what I've seen deals more with planets in houses than angles between the planets. Also found out that horary looks at the sky when a certain question is posed to the astrologer, which I think is a bit weird and opens up the risk of dependence. I guess what I'm looking for must be some subcategory of mundane astrology then. Oh, and oddly mundane comes from "mundus" = world, instead of mundane as in "insignificant" and it's supposedly the most ancient branch of astrology...

By the way, for anyone into Cass research, if you remember the part about an 11 sign zodiac, I found a reference in Rene Guenon's "Symbols of Sacred Science" when he discussed the Glastonbury Zodiac which has 11 signs with Libra absent... Glastonbury according to legend is where the Ark of the Covenant was brought, and is the place where the Round Table myth is said to have taken place or originated, for what it's worth. The zodiac itself is impressed into the landscape features in the area and modern archeologists say those are just natural features being subjectively read into, but on the other hand the Ark had the power to "tune" geography itself, so who knows...
