Topic: So, how much do you actually know about how your body works?
Recently I received an email from a fellow NR'er thanking me for a link I have up on my site for Tim O'Shea's website "The Doctor Within." www.thedoctorwithin.com He said that thanks to The Doctor Within site, he's made changes in his diet that will be far reaching...probably life extending, and he already feels better than he has in years.
Specifically, what makes that particular site so good is the way things are explained. Tim O'Shea doesn't just tell you what we should or shouldn't be doing, or make up wild claims.....he actually explains why something is good or bad by describing the way things are actually working in your body, as well as utilizing basic chemistry. And it's all in layman's terms. ANYBODY can understand it, follow along, and plow through the various articles on his site. It's absolutely amazing stuff. I have my personal fave articles of his printed out for posterity, in the event something happens. It's valuable information. I think what people need to do is get back to the basics of how things work in our bodies on the fundamental level. Without that - which is the foundation of his writings - then people won't listen or comprehend all the "do's" and "don'ts" and "shoulds."
Since this site was brought back to my attention, I've spent the past three days re-reading all his articles, printing them out, highlighting them, and so on. It's been eye opening. A lot of necessary reminders about things resulting in a diet overhaul. ! I've gone back and forth about attempting to make changes over the past 3 1/2 years, and manage to do it for short bits, but then get lazy and complacent again. His articles are a good kick in the pants to push one over the edge into permanent change.
So I wanted to pass this along and highlight it for anybody else who might be interested. Tim writes about everything from what vitamins, minerals and enzymes actually are and how they work, to vaccinations, (he's written a book called "The Sanctity of Blood,") autism, female issues/menopause and the evils of hormone replacement therapy, and so on. A nice assortment of topics. He's also derived what he calls his New West Diet....which, unlike all the fad diets, is about getting back to basics. No refined sugar and processed food. Eat grilled fish, brown rice, raw fruits and veggies, whole grains and lots of water. And in moderation, eggs, raw nuts and seeds, raw dairy, clean meats, and so on. But you get the idea. Common sense, basically. Eat the way our ancestors did....back before modern man developed all these new diseases, which are by-products of our diets and lifestyle.
Some of my personal fave articles of his that are important for people to read are the following......and what makes these articles so good is that he doesn't talk about only one thing in a really dry, boring manner that will cause your attention to wander around, or worse, fall asleep.
He's high energy, and you'll soon notice that all of these articles overlap and tie in together. The same repeating core themes keep emerging - get rid of the processed foods that have no enzymes, can't be digested, and are not recognized by the body, because it causes system-wide failure and is the equivelant to poison.
Ascorbic Acid is Not Vitamin C http://thedoctorwithin.com/index_fr.php … tamins.php (Not just about vitamin C...it's about all vitamins in general, what they are, how they work, and most importantly, it dissects the whole supplements deal. REALLY important read for anybody who takes supplements!!!!!)

Be warned though......you may find yourself getting agitated and upset as you read his articles, ;)because they expose the deliberate poisoning of society by TPTB over the past 90 years, and the lies and deception going on in the mainstream medical establishment. It's stuff I'm well aware of by this point, but even I was getting agitated reading about it. Tim is very aware, and even refers to some of the lies, spin and purposeful poisoning and disinformation as being "Orwellian." You don't see THAT every day in nutrition articles! He's very blunt, and a bit fiesty, which is a good thing, and it's why he's able to convey his points so well, whereas other aware nutritionists may keep things neutral. You can tell he feels the agitation and frustration over what's been done to us as a society. We need that kick in the pants!
