no, but I've played almost every other unofficial single player HL mod that's worth anything. Is it single or multi player? Ever play Todesangst, Xeno Project, Xeno Project 2, The Long Night, Azure Sheep, Deliverance, Edge of Darkness, ETC, ETC2, Pieces Like Us, Point of View, or Poke 646? If not, then you should lift those from me. Especially since you're here in town, you could just pick up a copy from me if you wanted . . .

Anyway, if Opera is single player then I'd be interested . . .

Re: Video Games Themes for the Truth Seekers

Since we are already on the topic.

Star control 2 (also "the ur-quan masters" is a fanmade reproduction of the game) A war that had humans and alot of other races on one side and ur-quan (predatory spider / lizard  race on the otherside) ended with humans loosing and the alliance that humans were fighting for all being slave-shielded on their own respective worlds. The game revolves around one shipcaptain who comes back to his homeworld (earth) and finds that the alliance lost. Having to rebuild the whole alliance from scratch and defeating the Ur-quans.

Baldurs Gate 1 & 2 (Game bout a hero realising he is part demon part human, and having to live with that. and people trying to kill him)

Final Fantasy 6 Best of the final fantasy games in my opinion. Very deep and involving story.

X-com 1 (Ufo: Enemy unknown) Very very good strategy game about a organization trying to stop aliens from taking over the earth, the aliens do terror attacks, probe around, build bases and try to convert nations to their cause (US being one of the easiest to turn actually) you play the part of the organization. The aliens have such nice things as Sectoids(grays, right down to the psychic abilities), have technologies such as elerium 115(element 115 anyone). And have a base in mars in cydonia. Worth playing.

there are more but i'll probably post them later.

Re: Video Games Themes for the Truth Seekers

what do u guys think of this one:

Super Princess Peach
Mario and Luigi have been kidnapped by Bowser! He's taken them, along with the magical Vibe Wand, to Vibe Island. Princess Peach is determined to rescue them. When she arrives at the island, she finds the vibes from the island have given her new powers! She'll use them to finish this classic side-scrolling Mario Brothers-style adventure. Each of eight worlds features five levels with a boss waiting at the end. Run and jump through levels, collect coins, whack Bowser's goons with Princess Peach's umbrella, and use her vibe powers of Joy, Rage, Calm, and Gloom to unleash powerful attacks, become invincible, regenerate health, and more.

oh, hey- anyone ever think about how Mario Brothers jumping into the pipes signified Wormholes/ Inner -Outer Space travel ?

Shadow the Hedgehog---Project Shadow is a fake lifeform made with joint alien/human government technology to carry out their agenda.  Shadow eventually destroys his controllers and gains his free will.

Re: Video Games Themes for the Truth Seekers

oh yea and how about how Maria Brothers eat magic mushrooms to attain special powers to defeat the reptilian Bowser?

Re: Video Games Themes for the Truth Seekers

Well, it's time to revive this thread, because I've found a new adventure game (new to me anyway, it came out in 2003).  It's called Conspiracies, and it's an FMV (Full Motion Video) game originally made in Greece.   This is the setting in which the murder/mystery takes place:

"The 21st century human society is threatened by a destroyed natural environment, cannot solve the problems of over-population, suffers from poverty, organized crime and the increasing forms of depression and neuro-diseases.
Earth is one single federation of cities. Greece is one of them. Every city-state has its governor and its local government, which is subject to the Supreme  Federal Government. But the political lobbies, the big companies, the organized crime impose their own order, a situation, which most of the times surpasses law, creating its own reality."

Far fetched, I know!  But seriously, the game starts out as a private dick down on his luck, and ends up in a tangle of... well... conspiracies.   One thing I think is interesting is the introduction of a revolutionary drug that eliminates stress and contains a "happy" component.  Prozac, anyone?

Re: Video Games Themes for the Truth Seekers

Well I finally bought the Shadow the Hedgehog game for myself!  I pissed off the aliens in less than five minutes, heh.  You can choose to follow the evil "plan" set for you life by the aliens, or rebel.  An alien tried to get me to kill some people, so I killed one alien, stole his laser gun, and shot a bunch of other aliens, who turned into a pile of green goo.  Ewww.  Then I accidently fell over a ledge and died.  Oops.

Re: Video Games Themes for the Truth Seekers

Just finished a very creepy game called "Indigo Prophecy," known as Farenheit in the UK.  The protagonist finds himelf in a bathroom after killing a man by severing the arteries in his heart and carving strange symbols into his forearms.  His search for why he did this leads to Mayan sacrifice, mind control,  and a conspiracy plot by the people who rule the world behind the scenes.  Very interesting game, if you get a chance to play it.

In metro areas, very fast, single passenger vehicles are common.

Hardly.   That's not far-fetched in the slightest; it's exactly what we have right now.
