Topic: Standards of Channeling -- an observation

Upon reading this artile, I found it very informative but not simply for the intended purpose of the article.

I never knew that what I was experiencing was 'channeling'. I had heard of channeling, but never knew anything about the process. I'll explain with some examples below.

First Level: noise without information. On a ouija board this means nonsense letters or no movement of the planchette. In verbal attempts this means silence, random syllables and tongue noises. For automatic writers this means no movement of the pen, or else repetitive scribbles. It may be a prelude to a message, a warmup exercise to start the flow, or else it may simply be like the noise on a disconnected television.

I have never actually experienced this version of it knowingly. Or.. rather, that's not true.

When I was a very very small child, I had a high fever one night and there was a sort of internal unspeakable fear surrounding me, I ended up sleeping in my mother's bed that night. While she sat up and read, I just layed back and tried to breath and not worry. However, saying I heard voices in the next few minutes would be an overstatement. As I stared at the edge where the wall and the ceiling meet, I had this sort of cognative non-physical image rolling through my mind of a tire that gets larger as it moves across the line of the ceiling and the wall. But what came with this little cognative hallucination was .. what sounded like a very gruff man's voice, saying something like this. "it's an itty bitty -gutteral, ferocious tongue-speak, the best that I can replicate in text: MEGLHIIBITA!- and then the messege would repeat, slightly varried in sylabls, but essentially the same. I don't remember how long this went on or what happened afterwords. I probably slept.

Second Level: information without message. Intelligible words may form, but these are still nonsense, a more organized form of noise but noise nonetheless. Or the words form into sentences but there is no point to them, mostly just insignificant filler phrases that go nowhere and make no sense.

In my dreams, I never experience true sound. all 'sound' seems to come in without ever being processed by the ears. However, once in awhile, usually between waking and sleep.. voices would come through. Nothing big or long. usually little phrazes like "in here" "of course" "Parking ticket" .. essentially, words and phrazes with no meaning, and usually each voice was a seperate one. some masculine, some feminine. It was an interesting experience, and so I began to attempt to consciously enter that state/that part of my mind that was picking up these 'outside' sounds 'internally'.

It works, sometimes. Not always. There's a certain amount of 'reaching' that goes on in the process for me, and generally each 'voice' that is heard, when it is heard, is experienced alongside a burst of what I can only describe of 'brain tickling'. IE- when it happens, I feel this rush of energy, a sort of wave that litterally feels so extatic that it shocks me out of the range I need to be in to hear the voices. It's like being burned from a hot stove, the extatic quality of this experience is so intense. I've actually had simliar troubles with attempting to initiate out of body experiences/astral projection, though in that case it was a rush of energy pinpointing on my third eye, and again, so much extatic energy that it just shocks me back into 'normal' consciousness. I've had experiences that 'did' work better than the one mentioned above since that time, but they've always been randomly induced- ie, I didn't try to make them happen, they jsut did. Moving on..

Third Level: message without autonomy. Sentences form that make a point, but the channeler is basically faking it. Some fake it knowingly to continue the show even after the well runs dry. Others fake it unknowingly by employing a hefty dose of denial and make-believe.

I think this has more to do with interpretation of signals than the actuall recieving process (which is what I'm focusing on here) am I wrong?

Fourth Level: autonomy without novelty. So the message streams forth without fabrication by the channeler, perhaps because he or she is unconscious (not remembering what happened during the session) or because the participants are conscious but aware they themselves are not willingly producing the message. And yet the message contains nothing original, just a rehashing of what the channeler already knows indicating the source could be the mechanical part of the subconscious or some etheric thoughtform / deceiver parroting back the anticipation of the human participants.

I must admit that I've never attempted this channeling with intention to find information of any specific quality, and that may be reflected by the nonsense I usually do recieve. However, at the same time, I feel like practicing holding the state of consciousness is more constructive at this point than trying to find a particular signal or source. Moving on..

Fifth Level: novelty without veracity. New and interesting information comes through, and the source definitely appears to be an independent entity. But upon actually checking the information it is revealed that the entity is a total phony playing games. Nothing can be verified that wasn’t already known or easy to guess, and the rest is outright false. Trickster entities often give false prophecies of perpetually impending doom to feed off the negative energy and disempowerment experienced by their targets.

again, not really at this point yet in any way.

Sixth Level: veracity without positivity. Here the source can give predictions that eerily come true, reveal facts and personal details about others that later prove to be accurate, or show off their presence with paranormal phenomena–but it uses these confirmations solely to satisfy its authoritarian, hostile, or egotistical agenda. The source is most likely some negative thoughtform, mischievous discarnate being, or lower astral entity looking for easy targets to control, especially those interested left-hand occultism or those quickly awed into obeying an exotic authority. They have limited ability to see the future, read and manipulate the minds of humans, and create artificial synchronicities. That their predictions turn out correct says nothing about their intentions.

At this point I'm going to end with the one and only 'clear' channel I ever encountered.

The process by which I reached this one was strange, didn't feel the same as the others, and in fact i'd go so far as to say that in this case, something else was actively trying to reach me.

I was laying on the couch in my living room, relaxing, enjoying the mid morning light. It was gorgeous. I had never felt more at peace, it was definitely a perect moment.

I felt my body begin to slack. Loose the tension that I associate with being awake, while my conscious mind was perfectly awake and aware. A kind of medtiative state that I often wish to achieve but can never actively reach when I try.

The next thing that happened was rather strange. I felt something on the back of my neck, something that I can't quite explain. And the next thing I noticed was that i could hear something. I want to say it sounded like the equivelent of dead air on a radio, though much more subtle and quiet. Like a sudden silence that's full of barely audible ambient noise. And then I heard "....Are you recieving?" at this point my mind exploded, quite litterally. A voice, very young and very excited with an accent that I couldn't place (I almost want to say south african, or perhaps carribean, though I say that in retrospect and more as comparison as it wasn't any variety of either accent that i've encountered before.  Now.. what the voice had to say was a bit more than distressing, not so much in content as in SHEER FORCE. Imainge you're in the most peaceful meditative state you've ever reached in your life, and suddenly there is a very excitable masculine voice litterally shouting with not only the force of volume but hte force of presence that makes you feel like a small child cowering in the closet, hiding from some nightmare. His actual messege is lost to memory now, but imagine if someone like Zack de la Rocha (Rage Against the Machine) was preaching spiritual revolution. That sort of shout at the world/cult leader monologue explaining how desperate the situation has become and how it's vital to throw off all the chains of society and live the spiritual revolution right here, right now, and forever. There was, I belive, also something about the prisons in the world and how they are a reflection of the destruction of the soul and life as we know it on earth... etc.

Suffice it to say, I didn't last very long at all. perhaps a minute, perhaps even less. The same 'extatic' feeling was there, but it was slightly more uncomfortable than extactic, and I pulled out of it as quickly as I could, without thinking. Automatically, because the sheer force of the messege was overwhelming.

I felt a tug right after, as if whomever was speaking was trying to draw me back, however i resisted. I was just too shooken up to allow that to happen again.

I don't want to say that what came out was specifically negative, as I didn't actually hear or remember enough of it now to say for certain, but the way by which said voice got through and spoke was simply too aggressive for me to want to re-experience it.

The title of this post is 'an observatoin' and that observation is that what that list seems to be, at least for me, is almost a guide by which one can explore this domain of experience. I would never have known what I was doing was anything even remotely related to channeling until I read that article.

This is the experiential kind of info that I belive needs to be seen more often. IE - if you're going to talk about astral projecting, don't just explain how to do. Document the sensations that surround it, the ares of the body/chakra system that seem to activate when things are going well. The viseral component taken out of a spiritual doctorine, for me, makes it difficult to relate to the information to the extent that it's almost useless as anything other than intellectual interest.

Thanks for the unintended wake up call, Sir. ^_^

Re: Standards of Channeling -- an observation

That was very interesting to read about your broad range of variations in "tapping into something else." Yeah, if you have good discernment and research skills, then even questionable stuff can become useful. I'm glad you used the article more as a guide for independent reflection and observation than some authoritative classification system.
