The question is, WHY is Mercury considered to be the God of Trade? :!:

US aircraft carriers USS Eisenhower and USS Enterprise in the Red Sea off the Saudi Arabian coast

The nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Eisenhower, and its accompanying carrier strike group, passed through the Suez Canal on Monday, Oct. 30, and arrived in the Red Sea on Tuesday, Oct. 31.
DEBKAfile’s military sources report that the USS Eisenhower is at sea off the Saudi Arabian coast, together with another aircraft carrier, the USS Enterprise. The presence of the two US aircraft carriers, and their accompanying strike groups, in a body of water as small as the Red Sea is an extraordinary development.
So far there have been no indications that the USS Eisenhower arrived to replace the USS Enterprise.
US Intelligence director John Negroponte also is in the region. He was in Saudi Arabia over the weekend and in Cairo on Tuesday, and is due to arrive in Israel on Wednesday, Nov. 1.
With the arrival of the USS Eisenhower in the region, there are now three US aircraft carriers in the Persion Gulf and surrounding waters, including the USS Iwo Jima. Accompanying the USS Eisenhower are the guided-missile cruiser USS Anzio, the guided-missile destroyers USS Ramage and USS Mason and the nuclear-powered fast-attack submarine USS Newport.
DEBKAfile’s military sources report that a fourth US aircraft carrier, the USS Boxer, will arrive on the scene by the beginning of next week, together with its carrier strike group. The USS Boxer is currently taking part in joint US-Indian naval maneuvers, dubbed Malabar ’06, which include the landing of marines on beaches.

US issues Lebanon 'plot' warning
The United States has said there is "mounting evidence" that Syria, Iran and Hezbollah are planning to topple the Lebanese government.
The White House said Syria hoped to stop the formation of an international tribunal to try suspects in the killing of former Lebanese PM Rafik Hariri.
Spokesman Tony Snow said any attempt to destabilise the Lebanese government would violate UN resolutions.
Syria's ambassador to the US rejected the allegations as "ridiculous".
A UN team has been investigating who was behind Mr Hariri's death in 2005.
Hezbollah demand
The BBC News website's world affairs correspondent Paul Reynolds says the White House statement appears to result from the tense situation in Lebanon, where Hezbollah is demanding one third of cabinet seats, thereby giving it a veto over decisions.
Such a veto would enable it to block approval of the international tribunal to try suspects in Mr Hariri's assassination, our correspondent says.
The Hezbollah leader, Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah, has threatened street demonstrations in support of his demand.
The US is concerned that this instability could result in the fall of the government of Prime Minister Fouad Siniora.
The statement also casts doubt on any willingness by the Bush administration to consider Syria and Iran as potential partners over the future of Iraq, an idea that the Baker commission on Iraq is expected to suggest, our correspondent adds.
Former US Secretary of State James Baker is heading a bipartisan Iraq Study Group, considering future strategy in Iraq for US policy makers.
Hariri tribunal
The White House said it was "increasingly concerned by mounting evidence that the Syrian and Iranian governments, Hezbollah, and their Lebanese allies are preparing plans to topple Lebanon's democratically-elected government.
"There are indications that one goal of the Syrian plan is to prevent the current Lebanese government from approving the statute for an international tribunal that would try those accused of involvement in former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri's assassination," the statement continued.
But the Syrian ambassador to the US, Imad Moustapha, told the BBC's Newshour programme that the allegations were "ridiculous, verging on the silly".
"It's a shame that the United States, a world superpower, would belittle itself to such petty politics. Let's be clear about this. Today, in Lebanon, there is a domestic political bickering. This is a purely Lebanese issue.
"We, in Syria, respect the sovereignty of Lebanon, we are not interfering on this, and we call on the United States to follow suit and not to interfere in Lebanese domestic issues," Mr Moustapha said.
In March, the UN Security Council approved the formation of an international tribunal that would try those accused of involvement in the murder of Mr Hariri.
The UN sent a draft plan for the tribunal to Lebanese authorities on 21 October but it has yet to be approved of by Lebanon's cabinet and parliament or by the UN Security Council.
Mr Hariri was killed on 14 February 2005, along with 20 others in a massive blast on Beirut's seafront.
UN investigators said in September they had found new evidence that he was probably killed by a suicide bomber.
The assassination has been widely blamed on Syria, but Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has repeatedly denied that his country had anything to do with the killing.

US' Lebanon plot claim rejected
Syria and the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah have rejected US accusations that they are seeking to topple the Lebanese government with Iran's help.
Damascus denounced US "rumours", while Hezbollah accused the US of using Lebanon as a tool against its enemies.
The White House said on Wednesday it had "mounting evidence" of a plan to unseat the government in Beirut.
The US believes Syria may try to block the formation of a tribunal over the killing of Lebanese ex-PM Rafik Hariri.
Washington did not present any evidence, saying it was classified.
'Washington's battle'
"The latest American position is a blatant interference in a Lebanese internal affair concerning the Lebanese people's choices over their government and policies," Hezbollah said in a statement.
"It is also meant to throw Lebanon into Washington's battle against forces and states that are friendly and brotherly to Lebanon and its people, including Iran and Syria," it said.
Damascus earlier rejected the claims in a foreign ministry statement.
"The rumours put about by the US administration according to which Syria, Iran and Hezbollah are seeking to destabilise the situation in Lebanon are wrong," the statement said.
A Syrian government newspaper described the comments as "pure vilification meant to raise turmoil in Lebanon and cause fallout with Syria."
Veto fears
Hezbollah is backed by Syria and Iran, and has two ministers in Lebanon's government.

Few details were given of the discussions, but the Financial Times newspaper reported that the visit was aimed at pressing Syria to cease its support for radical groups.
As well as its relationship with Hezbollah, Syria is thought to have influence on some of the insurgent groups operating in Iraq.

JERUSALEM (AP) -- Former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon was taken Friday to an intensive care unit after his overall condition and heart function deteriorated, a spokesman for the hospital said Friday.
Sharon, who has been in a coma since suffering a major stroke in January, contracted a new infection that affected his heart, said David Weinberg, a spokesman for the Sheba Medical Center outside Tel Aviv.
"At this point, his condition is stable," Weinberg said.
Experts have speculated that because of the severity of his stroke, Sharon, Israel's prime minister from 2001 to 2006, is unlikely to recover. (Timeline)
The former prime minister, 78, has undergone several extensive brain operations to stop cerebral hemorrhaging, in addition to more minor procedures.
Sharon had an initial minor stroke in December and was put on blood thinners before experiencing a severe brain hemorrhage on January 4.
After spending months in the Jerusalem hospital where he was initially treated, Sharon was transferred to the long-term care facility at Sheba hospital in May.
He was rushed into intensive care in July for dialysis after his kidneys began failing, but was transferred back to Sheba's respiratory rehabilitation department after his condition improved.
Sharon lapsed into a coma just months after he ended Israel's 38-year occupation of the Gaza Strip, and shook up Israel's political map by bolting from his hard-line Likud Party to form the centrist Kadima faction, now headed by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert.

DEBKAfile cites Mualem’s words at a joint news conference in Damascus with Norwegian foreign minister Jonas Gahr Steore Monday, Nov. 6, as an explicit threat of war to be launched against Israel at a time of Syria’s choosing.
The Syrian minister welcomed a debate going on in Israel about whether to resume negotiations with Damascus on the Golan Heights, which Syria lost to Israel in the Six-Day War. He went on to say: “We now have a window of opportunity of several months. If there is no progress, the countdown will begin for a new Syrian-Israeli war.”
On Nov. 3, DEBKA-Net-Weekly 276 revealed that on Oct. 30 British PM Tony Blair had sent his senior political adviser Nigel Sheinwald (picture) on a mission to Damascus, hoping to turn the coming British exit from Iraqi towns round as leverage for a comeback to the Arab world and make up for his failed Iraq policy. One of the items in the British official’s briefcase for his meeting with president Bashar Asad and Mualem was a secret message from Israeli prime minister Ehud Olmert: an offer to start peace talks. It was posted through Blair. The Syrian president sent a return message to the British prime minister: Tell Olmert I’m ready to talk.
This move connected with a broader deal: Damascus would break away from its pact with Tehran in return for normal relations with the West. Israel-Syrian talks would kick off this process.
Both parties agreed that the Sheinwald mission and the business they discussed would be kept secret.
No sooner had the British emissary flown out of Damascus, when the Syrians leaked word of his visit together with the Syrian president’s rejection of Olmert’s offer to talk, barring a prior Israeli commitment to cede the Golan.
This was not what the Syrian president had told his British vistor. When Sheinwald arrived in London, he found out that Asad had been stringing him along before killing the Blair initiative stone cold.
All along the Syrian ruler had kept faith with Tehran. He had rolled out his usual line of peacespeak, which is routinely welcomed by European nations and others, to sugar-coat his scheme for a war against Israel with full Iranian military and intelligence backing.
Walid Mualem was more frank. “If Israel is thinking of launching a war next year this is not the way,” he said. He was evidently responding to the Haaretz report of Nov. 11 which quoted the IDF General Staff as expecting a Syrian-Hizballah war to be launched in the summer of 2007.
DEBKAfile’s military sources note that if this reflects their thinking, Israel’s army chiefs are over-optimistic. But many Israeli generals, including the new OC Northern Command, Maj-Gen.Gaby Eisenkott, judge from Syrian and Iranian military preparations that major hostilities could erupt a lot earlier and will try and catch Israel unready.

So Mercury was in exactly the same spot on it's orbit around the sun during the Mercury Passage on November 8, 2006 as Mercury was during the Venus Passage around June 8, 2004
This odd 'coincidence' of Mercury being on the same spot during the Mercury Passage on November 8 as Mercury was located during the last Venus Passage in June 2004 is not the only indication of Intelligent design. What to think about this:

If there's Intelligent Design in the movements of the planets and moons of our solarsystem, than the outer planets should give some kind of confirmation to the already described apparent Intelligent correlations between Earth and the other inner planets.
The Cassini Mission to Saturn is providing lots of information so maybe it's time to give the Saturn System a closer look, especially in relation to the Moon Titan.

Lebanese Christian leader killed
Lebanese Industry Minister Pierre Gemayel, a Maronite Christian leader, has been killed in the capital, Beirut.
Mr Gemayel, a leading anti-Syrian politician, was reportedly shot in the street in a Christian suburb and rushed to hospital, where he died.
His death comes amid a political crisis in Lebanon, following the resignation of six pro-Syrian cabinet members.
Mr Gemayel was a member of the Phalange Party and the son of former President Gemayel Amin.
Gunmen opened fire on Mr Gemayel's convoy as it travelled through Sin el-Fil neighbourhood, Reuters news agency quoted security sources as saying.
Syria blamed
The news of the killing was confirmed by Saad Hariri, the son of the country's former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, who was himself killed last year in a huge blast.
A recent UN report implicated Syria in Rafik Hariri's death, although Syria has denied involvement.
Saad Hariri, who is also the leader of the anti-Syrian coalition in the majority in parliament, has now accused Damascus of being behind the killing of Mr Gemayel as well.
"The Cedar revolution is under attack...Today one of our main believers in a free democratic Lebanon has been killed. We believe the hand of Syria is all over [this]," he told CNN.
Mr Gemayel's death means the Lebanese cabinet is now missing yet another minister.
The six pro-Syrian ministers quit their jobs last week in an attempt to bring down the government after their calls for a greater role in government were rejected.
