Re: Circumcision

I would say it's very on track, all these things are related and are being discussed!

Oh god my husband would kill me but he is 48 and has ED. Physically there is nothing wrong. The doctor gave him all that crap, Viagra, Cialis, Levitra, and to be honest those pills dont do a darn thing. It may get the equipment to run once in awhile but doenst do anything for desire. So if you have any suggestions as far as natural remedies, let me know.

My suggestion for a natural herb would be fo-ti, which you can get in any health food store.   I picked up a bottle, just to check it out for $9.00 and it works just fine.    You could also do an on-line search for fo-ti, just to read up on what it does and how it works.   For an inexpensive herb, this one really rocks!

If you wish to really boost things a bit more a good idea for a daily supplement combination would be: 2 capsules of fo-ti, 2 capsules of american ginseng and 2 capsules of gingko biloba.

Take these plus your daily vitamins and you got it made!

There is a herbal supplement called Ropex, which not only increases the amount of sperm produced but increases the intensity and even length of orgasm, with "rope-like" ejaculations, and even multiple orgasms.

Re: Circumcision

Thank you all so much for the info. Its nice to know that Im not the only wife with this problem. Nobody talks about it. I would sit and listen to female freinds and neighbors talk about how their husbands wont leave them alone in the sex department, and Im silently thinking "well, shit, send him over to me!".  My husband wont talk about it, so at times I felt like it was me (hey when you are a 49yr old women, and you have Victoria's Secret thrown in your face all the time, it tends to make you feel inadequate!) My husband and I have been dealing with this for 16yrs! Who would have thought  that one day, people I dont even know would reach out and help me with something so intimate! Thank you all again for your kindness, Im done with the soap opera drama now. Back to the thread!!!!   big_smile

LOL, Its a great natural remedy for both sexes, libido, natural HRT, hormone balancer  etc but may not address underlying, trauma,  mental and emotional causes of sexual dysfunction.

Its not like we are fractions of the whole but rather versions of the whole.

Re: Circumcision

You make a good point, Doc.  And Treehugger, the fact is that no magic pill is going to "fix" everything that may be going on.

It is my experience that men face ED around the same time women face the change, and relationships MUST adjust and change, and it's also the case that as individuals we go through changes.

Lots of crap and imbalance builds up over the course of a long-term marriage and child-raising.... but there comes a time to confront everything and either deal with it constructively or run away from it.  It can be rough... that's an understatement. lol

Hubby and I faced down the demons and came through it all with a refreshed, renewed outlook on life and each other.  That we once again BOTH enjoy a fulfilling sexual life together is just icing on the cake.... the cake itself we made from scratch.

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great and would suffice.  ~Robert Frost

Absolutely! totally understand what you are saying Doc. And I am always working on all aspects of my personality.

Re: Circumcision

I remember something about the Military actually enforcing circumcision for desert troops, something about the possibility of sand causing irritation and infections. I don't remember which war or when, but they would be the people to enforce this, probably along with the next draft, who knows.

Something else that was covered in the show "nip/tuck" was the doctors son (intact) actually trying to circumcise himself, as he thought it was the reason his girlfriend wouldn't have sex with him, although it ended up being far different reason. So his DR. daddy had to "correctly finish the job". There is actually a website devoted to media references to circumcision, it's interesting to view how they address the issue in sit-coms, dramas etc.

http://www.circumstitions.com/ -- Main website focusing on intactness
http://www.circumstitions.com/TVSitcoms.html -- Television Sitcom references, usually in favor of circumsion
http://www.circumstitions.com/Movies-cont.html -- And the Movie references, with two running contradictory themes 'Only jewish are circumcised"/"All males are circumcised"

Re: Circumcision

Haha I'm sorry I just had to post this...

The Core
US, 2003
No direct reference, but two reviewers independently comment:

A vessel in the shape of an uncircumcised phallus penetrates Mother Earth and inseminates her core with nuclear-tipped casings which explode in coordinated waves, thus returning equilibrium to the planet.

- Mark Ramsey, Movie Juice
March 23, 2003

The team jumps into their cigar-shaped ship, appropriately titled the U.S.S. Massive Uncircumcised Cock, and so begin their journey to the center of Mother Earth, where they will penetrate her egg-like core to deposit a payload of nuclear-warhead sperm, which will rock her body with coordinated waves of post-coital delight and get her molten juices flowing again, thus saving the planet from a particularly bad case of sexual frustration.

Re: Circumcision

This one screams of how the american movie industry implants such suggestions into their films

28 Days
US, 2000
A comedy with a theme about the jargon and uplifting twaddle of rehabilitation.

A young woman (Sandra Bullock) is spending 28 days in a rehabilitation centre. While eating, a woman finds an eyelash she lost and says everyone must make a wish.

Roshanda (Marianne Jean-Baptiste): Custody of my children.
Gerhardt (Alan Tudyk): Sobriety.
Roshanda: Oh come on, baby, we all want that.
Gerhardt: My foreskin back. No one asked before they took it; they just took it. They had no right to take it.
    (The others snicker.)
Oliver (Mike O'Malley): Way to share, Gerhardt, way to share.
The others laugh.

Gerhardt is a figure of fun. He is gay, self-absorbed and confused. Earlier, at a therapy session he launched into a monologue about a fork in the road and trailed off into talking about ladles. Later, told he can look for a partner when he can keep a plant alive, he talks to the plant, sketches it - everything except water it - then blames the seller when it dies. The underlying message is that only such a hopeless person could mind being circumcised. Coming right after "We all want that" the line's message is that Gerhard has picked something nobody (in his right mind) could possibly want.

So what do you reckon is a good cure for homosexuality?

Are you suggesting there is something that needs to be "cured"? I don't want to see this explode over a persons sexual preference, but I could be in the dark about this.

Re: Circumcision

Well there has to be something wrong with homosexuality for the media to be promoting it so much. I'd just like to know what people think should be done about it.

That's kind of off topic though, isn't it?  This is supposed to be a thread about the dangers and drawbacks of circumcision, not a thread about whether homosexuality is wrong, and if so, how to cure it.

(Not trying to be a control freak, it's just that I can see the potential for this thread to be massively side tracked and derailed over the very hot button, off topic issue of homosexuality.  This thread has too much potential for gettnig an extremely important message across to prospective parents...would be a shame to see it ruined.  Although that's what usually happens to important topics on many message boards - they get derailed and chaotic so that eventually people wander away, and the thread becomes forgotten and buried.)

Just my two cents.....

Re: Circumcision

Although I agree with your intentions lrya, I have come across the issue of homosexuality through circumcision many times. I believe the mindset of a circumcised person, since the brain is so dramatically effected, may play a role.

I myself have found it frustrating to deal with issues of intimacy, and steered clear of all relationships. I have seen how natural it comes to friends of mine, but I was also raised in a far different environment sheltered from mainstream influence and family socialization, because our family "group" became Jehovah's Witnesses, alienating us from the rest of them. Not only has my body been modified, I have nothing in common with the majority of society. I'm only 19, but I have never had a girlfriend, or even tried.

I might as well add that homosexuality is also very prevelent among Jehovah's Witnesses, but I'm sure I could open an entire thread about this dangerous cult. So the environment one is raised in plays a major role as well.
