Re: PLASTIC SURGERY

Yeah, I've perused this site myself.  It's left me wondering why people can't just leave themselves alone.  You see SO many examples of people that looked just fine before, then they literally butchered their own faces....and then think they look better afterwards for some reason.

Some ultimate examples from that site:

Mickey Rourke:
http://www.awfulplasticsurgery.com/archives/000344.html

Axl Rose:
http://www.awfulplasticsurgery.com/archives/000252.html

Vivica Fox:
http://www.awfulplasticsurgery.com/archives/007048.html

Farrah Fawcett:
http://www.awfulplasticsurgery.com/archives/002336.html

Mary Tyler Moore:
http://www.awfulplasticsurgery.com/archives/000701.html

It's unfortunate, but what they've done is irreversible.

Then there's the reversible stuff, like lip collagen gone amok.  If they stopped the injections, they'd look much better:

Lara Flynn Boyle:
http://www.awfulplasticsurgery.com/archives/000695.html

Melanie Griffith:
http://www.awfulplasticsurgery.com/archives/005431.html

Hollywood should just get over the whole lip collagen thing.   Very rarely does it ever actually look like a good thing:

http://www.awfulplasticsurgery.com/archives/000827.html

http://www.awfulplasticsurgery.com/archives/000303.html

http://www.awfulplasticsurgery.com/archives/005357.html

http://www.awfulplasticsurgery.com/archives/006483.html

Anyway, if nothing else this site is good for making a person feel better about how they may look.  Being au naturale with some flaws is still better then irreversible face butchering surgery, or the body dymorphic disorder psychological issue that many Hollywood stars seem to exhibit, which causes them to not know when to quit, and to keep cutting, and lifting, and injecting and more cutting.  It's also good for letting people know that some of the stars they may have been admiring and comparing themselves to weren't born looking that way either.  "Look at her perfect nose!"   "I have thin lips....look at how nice and full her lips are!"   etc.  wink

Haha, exactly. Yeah, for some reason in the past, I was a tad insecure with the way I looked. I don't know why, but maybe the media was getting into my head which is why I tossed my TV (which was suprisingly easy for me, a former couch potato). But just looking at these photos and seeing these celebs make such mistakes on their faces made me realize "hmm, I'm not so bad after all" of course, not in a cocky attitude, but more of a genuine confidence and moving on to whatever I was doing. Flaws are definetely cool, of course, unless half of your face is missing like that French woman who had that facial implant, then plastic surgery has its place.

Vivica A. Fox was defininely a fox before, I seriously don't understand her. And the captions from the Mary Tyler Moore pics are just plain  hilarious! I love whoever writes for that site, very sarcastic in a light hearted tone! wink

Re: PLASTIC SURGERY

I remember reading somewhere that wayyyyy back in the history of the universe the Annunaki perfected the art of plastic surgery and would endlessly work on themselves to keep young and beautiful.    I would imagine this was (and probably still is) somewhat of a "marker" for the STS elite.    The endless and obsessive zeal for young looks, even if the surgery isn't so great.   It does make you wonder, the ancient roots of this, which we never really get wind of since most of our "off-planet" history has been erased from the public domain.

Re: PLASTIC SURGERY

Well I won't be a hypocrite...I want to look good and stay youthful.  wink   Recently, due to months of poor eating and sleeping habits and other factors I began looking a bit run down.  My face just looked droopy and weary.  I took some pro-active measures and bought a product I have to take a moment to plug here:

http://www.vitacost.com/Store/images/images100/030985005905.jpg

!  Amazing product.  Plug plug plug!!!   Derma e brand "Alpha Lipoderm/Alpha Lipoic Green Tea Advanced Repair Complex."  This stuff WORKS.   Within one week my face looked different.  It's loaded with Alpha Lipoic acid, jojaba oil, green tea extract, and loads of Vitamin A, C, D and E.  The box promises "Regular use of this product will help to achieve firm, toned skin and a smoother complexion.  Fine lines, wrinkles, brown spots, and other skin irregularities will show visible signs of diminishing."   Well, it certainly did.  !  Pores shrunk, skin's all smooth...AND toned, and when I look in the mirror I no longer cringe!  big_smile  A new face!   big_smile   Okay, slight exaggeration...BUT....there was a big difference.  Big enough that I'm plugging it and saying it's worth the $17.   I also started taking separate Alpha Lipoic acid supplements and tons of flax seed oil. The whole thing combined can't be a bad thing.

I think the proper skin care and diet and plenty of sleep and water when we're young will prevent the need for butchering one's face when we're old!

Re: PLASTIC SURGERY

.......and on a fun side note, thought I'd post a picture of Joyce Wildenstein, the woman who hacked up her face to get herself to look like a tiger:

and "The Lizard Man."    He's tattooed scales onto his body, shaved his teeth, inserted brow implants and split his tongue.  eek!  (ouch!)

wink   I went back and deleted the photo, and just included the link, with a warning....!

I'm surprised to hear that from you of all people Xenopope.  You'll sit through sci fi movies that feature abductees having their heads sawed open or whatever and experimented on onboard a UFO ship/government base and other gore, but a guy who's cosmetically altered himself to look like a lizzie makes you go "OMG!  Post a warning!"  Oh, the contradiction.  Let's have some consistency!  wink

Re: PLASTIC SURGERY

Frankly, I think Joyce Wildenstein's pic is WAY scarier than the lizard dude.  Looks like her face will explode any second.

Uhmm hellooo the difference being that those movies aren't real and the picture you posted is. K? Thanks.

Re: PLASTIC SURGERY

Yeah, but the lizard dude isnt biting anybody's head off and causing violence in his wake, he's just making himself look odd.  Big difference.  I dont understand people that will sit thru slasher movies, women getting raped and people shooting other people up enacting all kinds of gore, and then get offended at something that has nothing to do with violence. And BTW, Xenopope, that doesnt mean Im inferring you in particular. big_smile

Treehugger made the same point I made...but a LOT nicer and far more tactful, so, I'm deleting my post. wink

Thanks for the plug!  I've been experimenting with home treatments, and I might try this one next.  Where do you buy it?  Do you use it the same way the Neutrogena ones work-- once every couple of days  or so?
