Topic: An authentic life

"An authentic life is mired in mud, and muck, and endless challenges of character, but also graced with love, and confidence, and a sincere depth of purpose. A false life is as thin as a seahorse on a Martian Mare"

May I ask, who is this ~~carefulcarpenter I see you always quoting?

Re: An authentic life

Free-Your_Mind....love your quote about the pope. I was living on Guam in 1981 and the pope visited at that time in his "pope-mobile" He looked kind of silly behind his plexiglass.

In man's analysis and understanding of himself, it is as well to know from whence he came as whither he is going.   Edgar Cayce

Beliefs are tools for social conditioning, rather than expressions of inner realization or inner truth.   unknown

I think it's a name he's coined for himself.

"cc" was a project name for a spiritual journey of discovery I took in the pursuit of truth. Ephiphanies would pop into my head and the wisdom that accompanied was often in poetic form. I could sit down and a poem would flow onto the paper. As I learned to draw from the creative source the words soon took the form of aphorism.  As I continued to post on the internet for various reasons the "carefulcarpenter" took on a creative power of it's own. I believe putting yourself out there in public has much to do with the mechanism which helps to dissolve the veil of fear that imprisons our spirit. Thanks for inquiring.

In short: the carefulcarpenter is an insignificant and unimportant sojourner poet of the internet; an artifact of a deep sense of curiosity and yearning for growth. "Where do creative thoughts come from?" is a question I pursue. These quotes are milestones placed along my path.

"Fear is a tether that enslaves the body, conscrips the soul, and compulsively lashes the mind to capitulation"

"I am merely a grain of sand affixed to the flip-flop of greatness; I am graced that I have not prematurely been washed back into the sea"

Nice titmouse!
I would guess that the internet communication and response on a verbal and energetic level would definitely have some feedback loop kind of effect, where you are merging with and being merged with...co-creating...continually morphing, at least in understanding and dynamics, as you go.
I wonder if this question you "pursue",
"Where does creativity come from" ...
is it a more pragmatic querie like trying to discover some entity or spirit? or is it logical, trying to find the place in the brain that couples with the "universal information"
Or does it simply come from everywhere/nowhere, much like awareness itself, and is like a zen koan or "spiritual question" where it is allowed  to quietly gather energy in the mind by placing there and listening for answers for an indeterminate period...
until eventually the mind stops and the answer comes like a blast from the deep...?

Thank you for your response and insights!
On another site a woman has commented that she uses these quotes in her daily life in the name of peace. She plans to make a T-shirt with careful carpentry quotes.

I hope some day she, herself, becomes fearless enough to express her deeper truths in public. She will have my written permission to create peaceful quotes by cc.
