Since perhaps not everyone has seen the other thread location pertaining to this, I'd just like to put a **shameless plug** in for the Noble Realms IRC chat that's been getting more popular now. 

Thanks to Risen's post from yesterday on thread: http://forum.noblerealms.org/viewtopic.php?id=3457, my arm was twisted to do the quick install and check it out.  In short, was a really enjoyable exchange of ideas last night with 5 or 6 fellow NR'ers.  The best part was it was in *real time*...  Thanks again guys for setting this up!!

It was super-simple for me to install, took about 2 mins.  Here is what I did (from the other thread)... note there are options for Mozilla and OSx too:

Windows - standalone program

-Download and install X-Chat 2
-In the Server List window, enter a nickname, user name, and real name
-The click "ADD" and type something like "NR"
-Then click Edit and change the default to irc.dkom.at/6667
-Check "connect to selected server only"
-Under "Channels to join"  type  #noblerealms
-Then close, and connect  to join the NR chat room
-Next time, load up the program, make sure NR is selected, and click Connect...

I've not ben able to access the usual address for over a week, I don't know if anyone else is having the same problem.

Anyway, me and Jase have just figured out that

irc://irc.blackened.com/noblerealms

seems to work fine

Go there, select efnet from the pulldown list of networks

Enter your nickname

Select "other" from the pulldown list of channels

type noblerealms after the #

click on the GO arrow

wait up to a minute to for it all to process...

Yeah, it'd be nice to get more people on there. I was on the other day, but I'm leaching off a local wireless internet router (probably my neighbours), so it was a bit unreliable. It'd be interesting if someone could maybe document the various discussions we have, especially the more note-worthy, and post them on this forum. I could do this if montalk and others involved feel comfortable with it.

We've got a few members who are active chatters, but it would be really nice to see more, especially if they have questions about material/news/stuff they read and would like a second opinion.

Those of us who use #noblerealms are all bringing things to the table that are relevant to the content of many discussions on the board, too, and links to interesting websites are dropped often too.

In the future I would suggest many of us log on at certain times to discuss certain topics! That could be really helpful for many members.

Yeah we need more people on chat..... lot's of good stuff gets talked about.   Don't miss out on these chats!

Lono, and company,

Aim for after dinner, and around 10pm EST. There should be one or two in the room and if not, just leave the window open so that you can kill some time before anyone else logs in.

If you don't have that kind of time, though, it's alright. I live on the East Coast, and I log in at 8-9pm usually and wait... some nights I'll be chatting up until 3 am because West coast dudes and dudettes show up around midnight.

I just experienced success last night just after I posted!  Had very good conversations regarding gemstones, Hell's Disco, and more.  I'll be back for sure.
