Getting a job is like enrolling in a human domestication program.  You learn how to be a good pet.

Look around you.  Really look.  What do you see?  Are these the surroundings of a free human being?  Or are you living in a cage for unconscious animals?  Or have you grown to love the color beige?

How’s your obedience training coming along?  Does your master reward your good behavior?  Do you get disciplined if you fail to obey your master’s commands?

Is there any spark of free will left inside you?  Or has your conditioning made you a pet for life?

Humans are not meant to be raised in such cages.  You poor thing…

Nice post. I totally agree with those points. Those are some great points.
This is to bring some balance to this thread.
A couple of reasons why you should get a job:

1. Get life experience.
2. Interact with other energies.
3. Become more mature.
4. Experience this physical plane.
5. To invest in stocks, bonds, currencies, gold, property, and/or your future, you need some income to support this endeavor so it's not entirely practical to not have a job. Get some money first, ground yourself in this reality first and then quit jobs. However if you're so advanced that you can generate money by using the Law of Attraction and not working in a job, you can do that too.
6. So you can appreciate not having a job. You understand restriction so you are grateful for freedom and creativity. You will value freedom more.

Regarding investments I'll be able to give advice with that eventually.
I'm doing a commerce degree majoring in actuarial studies so I'm studying a whole lot of financial stuff. I'm currently a 'freshman'. Us Australians use the term 'First Year Student' XD.

Good points, Hildegarde.  smile   Very true indeed.  I can see both sides of this issue.  I don't think people should *NEVER* get a job.  Because getting a job DOES give one people skills, and it does make one more mature.  And yes, most importantly......it gives you that basis of comparison so you can appreciate not having a job later on down the line!  big_smile  That's so true.   Unless we go through something, we won't have that basis of comparison.   

I'm 31 and have held more jobs/worked at more places than my age, in five states now.  Well over 50 jobs I'd say.  Maybe up to 75?  This is due to temping, as well as the fact that at one point in my life, I was always working two, even three jobs at any given point.  I've worked at the best of the best, and the worst of the worst.

...And I wouldn't trade those experiences for ANYTHING!!  smile 

It truly is a form of "seeing the world."   And it does give us the opportunity to "experience this physical plane," as you said.

Ultimately we all have to do what's best for us.  Can't speak for everybody, but imo the trick isn't to "NEVER" get a job. like this guy in the link is saying.  The trick is to find a job that doesn't oppress you and treat you liked a caged child.  Balance.  wink

The only problem I see with this 'article' is how he makes it seem like it is any employees 'own fault' for being an employee - as if it were a simple walk in the park for any of them to begin working for themselves. It's not the employees fault for 'choosing' to be an employee, it's the fault of 'the system' and therefore the powers that be who have instated it. Because this system was created for the very purpose of economical 'enslavement' and dehumanization.

Reminds me of a quote I heard once in a song, "The weak ones are there to justify the strong." Can anyone tell me who sang this?

On a related sidenote, there's nothing worse than people who've never had to work in the service industry.  They (ususally) make the biggest jerk customers and people to be waited on in restaurants.  Usually a lot of rich kids never have to work a day in their lives until after they graduate from their prestigious universities, then go off to their white collar corporate jobs dished to them on a silver platter, and as a result become completely detached from the every day real world.  They're just way off in left field with their heads up their butt and no concept of the working world's reality.   It should be mandatory for everybody to work in the service industry.  !!  wink  Because we all have to interact with it in our own lives, whether it be hotels, restaurants, or what have you and it would make for more understanding, empathetic customers.    As someone who's dealt with corporate guys throwing temper tantrums on par with a 3 year old, and cold, snotty, bitchy women restaurant patrons who run you ragged and expect everything NOW, and then only tip 5-8%, I can definitely attest to the wonders of having worked in "the real world," and the experience and empathy that being on the other side of the fence can give a person.  I think people who haven't worked are just typically out of touch with things and have unrealistic expectations when they're out and about...because they haven't been on the other side, and so have NO clue how it is.

Well, I bet only like .01% of people throughout the world have never had a job (aka being an employee of a company). Most people do have experiences working for an employer at least one time during their life. As a side note, good companies often give shares to their employees, so that they themselves become part-owners of the company/corporation, so I wonder what the author thinks of that. This is the ideal situation: where employees actually have a (fiscal) voice in the company, and as a group, can guide the direction of the company. But ultimately, there needs to be a CEO to set the agenda, but they should always be elected based on their capabilities and history.
It'd be nice if there were only small businesses, where people were paid a base salary, plus an additional percentage of profit. Trust me, alot of companies are going this route, and many more will be going this route in the future. It makes everyone alot happier and more productive, and people don't feel just like "Employee #7024", but feel like a real person.

That's where I'm at. I've never had a real job before. Haha yes I'm at a presigious university... I've worked during a ten day meditation retreat in the kitchen cooking for 60 people though... it was at the peak of summer too. It was like 60 degrees in the kitchen. Someone had to do it tongue.

Ah, but do you have your head up your butt?   Probably not!  big_smile   That's why I spoke in generalities though, saying "ususally" and "a lot" and not all and always.

Only 60 degrees???   I take it you must be referring to Celcius then, cause 60 degree F isn't bad at al!  big_smile

I doubt it can be celcius either. Water boils at 100 degrees celcius, so I'm pretty sure that human beings would be nicely cooking away at around 60C (which is 140F).

The best life is filled with humor and dreaming. I do not envy those who have no experience serving others, for they have missed the real dreaming. Life is 95% anticipation, 4% perspiration, and the 1%, well, that's just divine.

The kitchen was pretty small and it was sort of old. Like you had to use rubber bands to completely shut the oven properly. The one thing I learnt from it though was that if it's super duper hot, make sure you don't expose sugar to the atmosphere.. THE ANTS WILL GET IT. We had so much ants... we were like not suppose to kill anything.. that was part of the conduct you had to obey as a good person ... but we had to kill the ants! They were getting into our honey and cereal. I think we had to throw out a packet of cereal because the lid wasn't shut properly. I had a technique of trying to get rid of them though. I would put honey onto paper as bait for the ants and then once a good amount of ants was eating into it I would take it outside. Except that it didn't work very well because it was slow.

Well there was one day during the retreat and I think it was 50 degrees Celcius OUTSIDE. I think it would be slightly higher in the kitchen. We had water sprayed onto the meditation hall to keep it cool. It evaporated pretty darn quick. All in all it was fun though. I made really good carrot cake by myself.

Oh yeah when we went to sleep, we would wake up in sweat, even though we would be lying in bed with not much covering our body...
