Topic: Earth 'likely' hottest in 2,000 years

http://www.cnn.com/2006/TECH/science/06 … index.html

Interesting little article, though they assume that global warming is solely the result of human emission of greenhouse gases.

Occasionally I will see somebody in the mainstream media suggest that we are simply in the middle of a natural warming trend since the end of the last ice age, which is also very likely.

What I've never seen in anybody in the mainstream media point out is the fact that planetary climate changes are not occurring just on Earth, but all over the Solar System.

It still surprises me how blatantly news will leave out important facts relevant to the story.  It's not like we're talking conspiracy theories here, the evidence is all over the place.

New gullies that did not exist in mid-2002 have appeared on a Martian sand dune.

Scientists have concluded more energy is being absorbed from the sun than is emitted back to space, throwing the Earth's energy "out of balance" and warming the globe.

Mars may be in the midst of a period of profound climate change

.  .  . and that's just a quick search of academically "reputable" sources.

I'm pretty sure that when I was learning about the "scientific method" in school, there was something about observing events that appeared to be correlated and positing a theory which explained the observations.

Re: Earth 'likely' hottest in 2,000 years

I tend to think that where there appears to be an agenda, there probably is.

The media has been spouting off with this "industrial greenhouse" business as if it's fact, for quite some time now, and without sufficient proof to back it up.  There is just as much evidence to suggest it's a natural phenomenon, and we don't hear much about this possibility.

That, to me, suggests an agenda.  Therefore I think it's probably all bunk, and the earth is just doing its usual thing.

[edit]
Let me add another observation here just for kicks...

Isn't it funny how they are so willing to connect this warming to industrial activity, and yet they aren't so willing to connect the myriad of recent disease onset to this same thing?

Hmm.. *sniffs*  see, I smell it again!

Re: Earth 'likely' hottest in 2,000 years

I think there is an agenda too regarding C02 and the green movement has been hijacked by TPTB.
In Europe its so they can make more money out of motorists as well as just focus ones attention to the wrong arena, cars which have a high c02 output will be taxed more, never mind all the chemicals smile.
Divide and conquor, get the people to fight amongst themselves like the anti 4x4 mob so they dont attack the Government or the real culprits and provide a smokescreen for them.
I heard a scientist saying a while back that cows do more harm than cars by pumping out all that methane into the amosphere and methane is a far worse greenhouse gas than c02.

Its not like we are fractions of the whole but rather versions of the whole.
