Re: 6/6/06

In pythagorean numerology (standard "new agey" numerology) you usually reduce numbers as some of you have pointed out, which will make that date 6+6+8, which makes it 20, the Day of Judgement if connected to the tarot. But in in the collective consciousness, the most obvious date is of course this years' sixth of June.

I lean towards the interpretation of the number as not inherently evil, although it is "tainted" by all the programming and beliefs that it is connected to the negative. Not entirely made up either, though. The truth is usually somewhere in between... Some interprets the books of revelation as a gnostic text, which makes the whole numerical cincept a bit more complicated. But usually, it is contrasted with the Jesus number 888, from the Sibylline Oracles. So, maybe we'll have a Jesus-movie out on 8/8, 2008! *lol*

BTW--if you haven't yet read Bruce Lipton's "The Biology of Belief" I strongly urge you to do so. It is some intriguing research and ground breaking conclusions he's published.

I haven't, but will see if I can find it.  Thanks.

Talking of books, synchronicity would have it that I picked up an old book yesterday "Hypnotism and psychic phenomena" by Simeon Edmunds who was a hypno-therapist in the 1960s.   When I read this part,

Simeon Edmunds wrote:

At about this time Sigmund Freud was using hypnosis in his practice in Vienna.  He had studied under Charcot, whose works he translated into German, and was strongly influenced by him.  Later, when he found that not all patients were susceptible to hypnotic suggestion, he abandoned its use and developed his own method of psycho-analysis.  It seems that Freud failed to appreciate that the deep trance was quite unnecessary for many therapeutic purposes.  He afterwards admitted however, that hypnosis would be necessary as a short cut if psychotherapy were to become widely used, as his own psycho-analytic methods of treatment could take anything up to five years.

...I immediately thought of what you said:

Mainstream psych professionals have it so wrong about one needing years and years of therapy to recover from trauma. hmm It just doesn't have to be that way. Not to mention, it doesn't always work.

In my late 20's I'd gone through a fair amount of therapy for the molestation issues. I literally begged my therapist to hypnotize me. He said no, that it was too dangerous.

Even though that period of therapy was well before I ever started my spiritual pathwalk and had trained as a healer, there was some part of me that innately knew that if I could just "go back" that then I could begin recovery.

And indeed, my complete recovery didn't happen until I underwent hypnosis

You innately knew what was right for you.  I can't believe, as I'm reading this book - even in the face of so much evidence for the effectiveness of hypnotherapy, - how it was debunked quite viciously, by so many of the medical profession.  Maybe they debunked it becausethey could see its efficacy to heal and felt threatened.  At the same time, its power has obviously been abused, when we see the hypnotic influence of the general public by the media, and think about how transdimensionals can use the power of influence.  That's almost a reason for teaching about it in school - if not giving the method, at least showing how we are all at risk of being mind-controlled.

Auendove wrote:

I'll never forget sitting as an adult on my childhood bed and pulling her/me close to me, and her melting into me. Very, very powerful.

Yes, I agree how powerful that can be.  I did a lot of that work myself - on myself - to reclaim parts of me that had split off when my father had died (suddenly to me) when I was ten years old.

You know, that's what gives me hope that we can overcome any inner limitation - programming - whatever - because I've seen proof in my own life of psychological/emotional and spiritual healing.

I once remembered, under hypnosis (the one time I did it, the one time I wrote of above), belonging to an alien species on an alien planet. Aside of the fact that it was trippier than all get out to be in a completely different non-human form (as I imagine you already know how strange it is to find oneself that way...my little ape friend big_smile ), it was such a lovely memory because the society was one of equity, completely different from the one we live in now...

Right now, I wish I had a picture from Pictus, of an ape hanging from a tree, eating a banana! lol But, hey! I had a dream once (I do a lot of work in the dream world!) where I came upon three white pillars, that shapeshifted into ancient beings from another world, hooded in white robes. They had red eyes, which were scary, but they were actually benevolent beings.  One took me to his world where everyone was peacefully going about their lives.  They looked very contented.  I asked where the prisons were and he said there weren't any. I asked what they did with people who broke the law. He said that was very rare, but if someone did make an error of judgement, they would be assigned to a 'noble' family to live with them, and would learn a better way. I woke up after that, but would have loved (like you) to explore more of their world.

A bit like Stuie Wilde who, when asked what his plan is, says "I don't have a plan" - I don't have a technique.  Well, a specific one that I stick rigidly to each time - as each person is different and requires different methods.  The only thing that is consistent is, at the beginning I connect with the Creator of all that is, and my higher self, then I ask for guidance and protection and to be a clear channel for the Godforce (and only the Godforce through my Higher Self) to give this person the advice, information and/or healing they need for their highest good and the highest good of all concerned.  Then, I 'feel' my way through with my 'tool box' of techniques that I have learned over the years.  Obviously, its very important to remain totally focussed on what I'm doing and have the intention of assisting them to heal themselves and its important to ask many specific empowering questions of the Godforce ("ask and thou shalt receive", so to speak).  After the healing, I always detach from them and ask for clearing on myself, to make sure I haven't taken on board any of their stuff/entities/etc.   Also, I do refer to other therapists, if I think they can be more effective.

That sounds a bit lame - and hopefully not too new-agey, but that's how I work. smile

But yes, Auendove, I wish we lived closer together, I'd like to spend time with you - and discussing your methods too. smile

In fact, I bought this and Lynn McTaggart's "The Field: The Quest for the Secret Force of the Universe" at the same time, and got them shipped for free. My total bill was $28 and some change. I haven't read "The Field" yet, but from what another NR member told me its text is along the same lines of "The Holographic Universe."

Excellent points, Cipher! And yeah, that was quite the synch with you finding the book by Edmunds. Sheesh! The past week or so its been nearly RAINING synchs in my personal environment...I'm not kidding you. I'm taking them as a sign I'm making a correct life choice, given its been a pretty big move to make that choice.

Doesn't sound lame or new-agey to me, it sounds conscientious. That's the thing about mainstream psychology, there's very little flexibility in its approach...although I have to say that Transcendental Psychology is a school of psychology that performs outside of the confines of mainstream psychology.

In the 90's, after I completed my AS in Human Services, and while I was learning Reiki and my own connection with the "Godforce" (that connection opening up new pathways of understanding beyond just the laying on of hands...like shamanistic types of skills), I really wanted to go to a private Buddhist based college in Colorado to study Transcendental Psych.

roll The director of the Human Services program advised me not to, him saying that Transcendental Psych wasn't...ahem, well respected in the Psych community. He said I'd have a hard time finding work, and that it'd be a wasted education.

While I wasn't bugded not to pursue that education because of what he said, given what was going on with my son at that time it simply wasn't an option. Not to mention, it was very, very expensive.

I just recently had the absolute joy of meeting a dearest soul sister, another NR member. She and I have been talking to one another on the phone almost weekly for two years now. Most times it has been more than once weekly. We always wanted to meet up, but we're this whole, big, wide country far apart. Funny, and awesome, how things can work out!

Thanks for that Auendove. I don't know about shipping to Australia - but there's a local bookshop in town that I may try too - and the local library who get books in if you ask them.

Yeah, that's the problem with a lot of these courses, they are SO expensive.  But maybe it wasn't for you.  I've found that if I've had a true 'heart' desire that has been in line with my highest good and set the INTENTION of making it happen, the money has come to me (sometimes in totally unexpected ways).  Or maybe the timing's not been right - maybe it will be better for you to do it after other life experiences. smile
