You know, he sort of looks like a little hedgehog.   (sonic the hedgehog....)  If he were mine, I'd name him Sonic.  smile

Auendove, I'm going to find out where the Rainbow River is, since I'm here in Florida as well.  Maybe I'll check it out one of these days!  Sounds awesome.

ms. lyra!

Well, you'll have to stop by and pick me up!  The Rainbow River is north of me on the Gulf Coast.  The river is just a few miles or so inland from the gulf by the town of Crystal River, exactly in a town called Dunnellon.

I'm ready whenever you are Sisterella!  I'll introduce you to one of my best friends, that snip-snap happy oak tree! big_smile

You know, you're only 5 hours away, with planning it's do-able. There's a nice State Park with camping grounds, nice facilities.... ahem, that is when this summer heat has chow-chowed to where ever hot weather goes for the winter.  We share B-day months you know. Hint-hint!

Today's mighty oak is just yesterday's nut that held its ground.

Rainbow River gots 'gator too you big kwazy!... but I don't know about feeding 'em.  Our kayak's a top of the line Stearns, but a soft sided kayak... duhn, duhn, duhn... eeeekkk! big_smile Potentially very not so pretty!

Didn't anybody ever tell you not to feed wild things if you plan on keeping all your body parts in one complex?  ...hehehe...

Re: The Spiritual Evolution of Animals

I'm not sure if everyone here knows this, but the part of the human brain that fuels our creativity, our intuition, our conscious intelligence, are the frontal-lobes. If you put your hand on your forehead, you are basically cupping your entire frontal-lobe surface. The frontal-lobes are about 1/3rd of our brain.

Now, humans are the only species on the earth to have such 'developed' frontal-lobes, EXCEPT...DUN Dun dun...for dolphins and whales. Their frontal-lobes have been reported to be more developed then ours. So....

Re: The Spiritual Evolution of Animals

I know I've mentioned this before ... about walking nearly every morning along the Gulf of Mexico around 5:30 AM and seeing the dolphins most everyday.

Years ago, my mother passed away.  Three days after her death, I went to the Gulf.  I sat down and just looked out over the water.  Thanking my mother for having been my mother (no small feat as you might imagine <grin> and that I loved her.  Almost immediately four dolphins appeared directly in front of me from no where. (usually you see them coming off from afar ... going up and down as dolphins do).  Then all four of them leaped out of the water ... again directly in front of me. They did this leaping thing twice, and then they disappeared. (in all the times I've watched the dolphins I've never seen them leap clear out of the water, except once when following a cruise ship - kinda showing off).

Then I got this clear "message" - "Your mother loves you and she wants you to know she is very happy."

It blew me away.

Re: The Spiritual Evolution of Animals

Found this in "Bringers of the Dawn" regarding eating meat raised and killed under torturous conditions during these times of hte "Shift".  It's definately worthy to be included here as it also ties in with Stuart's article:

-------

"The human body is evolving and changing. It may believe that it needs a certain nutritional combination because this is what you have been taught. Ideally at this point, however, you will forget what you have been taught. You will listen to your body and let your body tell you what it wants. We would guess that many of you in the last year have changed the things you want to eat. You no longer feel comfortable eating what you used to eat because the vibration within certain food is so intense that it is not compatible with you. In the meat industry as you know it, the cattle, pigs, and chickens are not fed food. They live in small compartments, and many of them do not see the light of day. Many of them defecate on top of one another because they live in layers of small metal boxes. This is how they are raised. They are fed steroids and antibiotics-things other than food. They are not raised with love. When they are taken to slaughter, they are also not killed with love. So you are ingesting this vibration.

Remember that all things exist as a vibration. Animals were put upon the planet to be companions for you, to live on the land, and to feed you and shelter you if necessary. This was to be done with love. If you live on a farm and raise your own chickens and pigs, and if you feed them food, and if, when it comes time to bring them to slaughter, you do it with compassion and love, then it is fine. You give quality of life to the animals, and then the animals in turn recycle themselves to give you love and quality of life. That is the ideal. That was the reality for a long time upon this planet. It is not the reality any longer. Be aware of the vibration within things.

Tom's got the online version of "Bringers of the Dawn" listed on the mainpage of this website;  it makes it SO easy to search and locate anything you need to in the book.  You just do a "Control F", and search for whatever word / phrase you're looking for.  Makes life so much easier!  Same as the C's transcripts with their search button.  That's why I'm able to locate these key excerpts so easily, (in case anybody's wondering....)

But all of this ties into not eating meat that's raised and killed under torturous circumstances.   I shop at Whole Foods market, which features meat from a company called Bell & Evans that (SUPPOSEDLY, HOPEFULLY)  does not raise their animals in those wreteched conditions.   They're free to roam, and are grain fed with no antibiotics and hormones.

Yesterday when I was at a Starbucks, we were sitting down at these 2 plushy chairs and I noticed that on the table between the 2 plushy chairs was a booklet about eating meat.   I knew what it was going to be about, but I made myself pick it up and read it anyway, because I knew I needed the reminder.   Sure enough, it was a PETA-style booklet with graphic, disturbing, heart wrenching photos of animals at meat farms and the torturous conditions they live in.   Oh my god was it disturbing.  Geese or whatever they are being force fed by a blank, emotionless "human" in order to create "liver pate".  This "human" literally had the head gripped like a vice and the neck stretched up, forcing the food down;  pig sows that are strapped down to concrete and never allowed to move, as they suckle their sickly looking young;  de-beaked chickens who've lost all their feathers and have runny, puss filled eyes and cysts and tumors;  cows lying in cramped conditions covered in their own feces.   The looks in these animals eyes as they stared at the person behind the camera documenting this........it's enough to break you.

I buy my meat at Whole Foods, which is supposedly not the nasty meat, buuuuuuut....I eat out at lunch every day.   Usually I go to Einstein Brothers Bagels (a cafe) and get a chicken chipotle salad, which kicks ass, but let's face it.......I doubt that chicken comes from a humane source.   Or occasionally I will get that burger at Wendy's.   So basically, I eat the "good meat" 50% of the time, an the "bad meat" the other 50% of the time.    We all kid ourselves every time we eat meat that doesn't come from the (SUPPOSEDLY, HOPEFULLY) humane sources.   We're sticking our heads in the sand and supporting what was feetured in that booklet.   How can we proclaim to be about spiritual advancement and truth seeking if we eat that meat?   That's what I had to ask myself.

Well, I need to stop eating the "bad meat"...........PERIOD.   That means, no more eating out at restaurants, PERIOD.    I cannot support eating that kind of meat, and I need to announce to myself and make a stand for what I support.  Ideally, I'd love to be completely meat free, but I don't think it's possible.  Eating soy products is out of the question.  Soy's very unhealthy, and I won't be one of those people who eats everything soy, soy this, and soy that.   ugh.   Nasty.   We'll see though.  Maybe I can mentally overcome my perceived obstacle of "needing" to eat meat.......maybe it's all in my head.    Hmmm!

So this weekend has been the "revamp my diet" weekend."  Finding that booklet was synchronistic, because it happened after I found and posted the Stuart article, and it just so happened to be lying on the table where I'd be sitting.   Whoever left it probably hoped they'd make a difference with someone, and they did.   We'll see how far I can take this.....

BB, Fluffy is a really cute one and by looking at the pic I'd kiss him/her on the head any day, and probably say something like "I  know, it's SO hard being a puppy" while others would look at me like I was not quite "there".

Re: The Spiritual Evolution of Animals

Just thought I'd post the update on my efforts to go more vegetarian, and my refusal to eat meat that doesn't come from a decent source.   I'd mentioned that I once tried this before with poor results, and that if I go without meat for a length of time I get foggy headed and lethargic, possibly due to my blood type (O+) which requires meat.   Well...........anytime I'd have that thought  "But I tried to go without meat, and it didn't work.....!"  I kept hearing "Well, you didn't try hard enough."  Basically, meaning that I did it all wrong.   So now, I'm doing it right, and so far so good.   I'm quite shocked, considering I'm bloodtype O.   What I've done differently this time is to make black beans and brown rice a regular staple in my diet.   I eat it every day for lunch, seasoned, and with green peppers and onions.    This makes a HUGE, major difference let me tell you.   Plus, I eat other really good foods and take all the right supplements now.

I know I won't be completely meat-free, but so far I've kept to my word of not eating any restaurant meat, and in the past 2 weeks the only meat I've eaten is one ground turkey pattie from Bell & Evans, the *supposedly* good source of meat.   I don't have any foggy headedness, no lethargy, no mad cravings for a burger, wink  nothing.  So this just might be do-able after all.

Anyway, just thought I'd post this in case there's anybody else out there who's wanted to cut back on meat consumption or go vegetarian.

Re: The Spiritual Evolution of Animals

lyra, I'm O+ as well, so meat to me is like...well, meat. I found that the important thing is that whether you want to be vegetarian or not, Complete Proteins are the key. Beans and rice together make a complete protein. As to supplements, the one multi-vitamin that made a big difference to me was Source of Life from Nature's Plus. This was the first vitamin supplement that did anything like what I thought vitamins should do. It also prevents my hypoglycemic problems. I would say here that I believe worrying about our food may cause more problems than the food itself. If I stress myself about potential dangers of my cheeseburger, my body doesn't do a very good job of converting the food to energy. Stress ruins your digestion. Of course, I'm not planning to live to 100 (I never planned to live past 30!), so my food concerns are more how I'm affected now more than later. Some of the best dietary info comes from Seventh Day Adventist teachings. Then they use microwave ovens to "cook" it. Go figure.

Re: The Spiritual Evolution of Animals

Hi aaronfiresbrand,

I don't stress out or worry about my food, I just no longer want to eat meat from animals that were raised in torturous conditions, like what I saw in those pictures I mentiond earlier.   There's no stress or internal conflict.   I just stopped doing it.   Animals raised in torturous conditions is something I've known about for a long time, but have purposely chosen to put my head in the sand and not think about.   So for me it's a moral / spiritual thing, and a way of proclaiming what I'm alligned with, rather than a health thing.   To keep eating that kind of meat would in my mind, mean I support that farming practice and that type of behavior, which I can't do.   I mean, I've thought about it this way:   If I have a soft spot for all critters, and go out of my way to be nice to animals, and feed strays, etc. etc.,  then how can I turn around and eat an animal that was tortured??   It just makes NO sense, it's quite contradictory.  Plus, I'm sure the vibration of that meat isn't too positive either, as Barbara Marciniak noted in that previous excerpt.

(And I hope others don't misconstrue my intent and think that I'm slamming people who choose to do things differently.  Just because I choose not to eat this type of meat and speak my opinion about how I see the issue doesn't mean I judge anybody else who does this, or look down on them.   I'm just putting my views out there for consideration, maybe get people to see things differently.   Just to clarify that....)
