Topic: Music That Enhances Life

I recently spoke a bit about the egos deceptions involved with music from the anti-life fields of expression and how many people are not being honest with themselves about their indulgences and seeming tastes.
The ego is not who we really are.
On the other side of things is music that enhances and affirms life.

Water and plants seem to know positive music from negative and i trust nature more than my own ego smile

Its not like we are fractions of the whole but rather versions of the whole.

Thanks for what both of you said... it is so very important, and too often so disregarded as ' aaah, well, so what...I like what I like' ... without ever paying attention to the affect music is having on them...Its all vibration...as we are, and music is so very powerful and its power is very under-rated.

What was said about water and plants is absolutely accurate,
We had a thread elsewhere that deals with water and the work of Masuro Emoto, the hado research about water.
Its a fascinating and enlightening subject that reminds us of our connection with nature and how nature both needs and responds to love also. Chack out the books " Hidden Messages in Water " and  " The True Power of Water."
They are must reads IMO. I will check out the music link.
I am currently working on an ambient band list and will put it out there soon.

I put on classical music of my own selection on the cd player in the car when I'm driving to
work or out and about.  Now, instead of some idiotic sing song ear worm in my head I have
classical music coursing through my mind.  No agendas, no negative downer lyrics or
fearful tearful words repeating themselves over and over in the shower.  For me, music with
no words is the only way to keep verbal propaganda out.  It doesn't have to be classical, just
as long as it is wordless.

I've always liked Pat Metheney's music.  Very lyrical and uplifting. 
By lyrical I mean pleasing.  He never uses words in his music.
For some incredible guitar check out Alan Holdsworth on Secrets and Wardencliffe Tower.

I have to agree about the non-lyrical music. Words are the ego's way of ruining a beautiful song.

Seeker--I agree.  There is a place for music with words, I don't deny that.  But when one
is trying to filter what goes through one's mind, words get in the way.  They become
programming.  Look at the cop killer who used rap music as an excuse for his crime.
Of course that's an extreme example.  It all comes down to discernment.  There are all
kinds of sick and dysfunctional messages being promulgated with big hooks and great
music propelling them.  It takes time and practice to separate the good from the bad.

Here are some suggestions:
(classical)
John Adams:  Shaker Loops
Steve Reich: Variations for Winds, Strings and Keyboards
Beethoven:  Symphony #6 "Pastoral"
Dvorak:  Legends, Czech Suite, New World Symphony
Hildegard von Bingen:  Diadema  (the group Sequentia has performed many of her works)
There are of course many many more.

The Cocteau Twins did music like that, Mystical Girl.  Beautiful little songs with what sounded
like words but weren't.  Thereby using voice without the restriction of having to use actual
words which had to make sense.
Spartan2402:  why would you put sublims in your music?  To try to make people buy more
of your music?  Or to influence people to do something against their will?  Sounds pretty
black magic to me.  But hey if that's your trip then be sure to tell me the name of your
group and I'll be sure to avoid it like the plague.
