Topic: Intelligence vs. Motivation

In my 42 years of existence (wouldn't have guessed that in a million years, would you?), I've noticed a couple of different types of people: those who are intelligent, but because of their perceptions of the world (they can see a solution, but can't get other people to do so), give up and end up having little motivation; and those who are "not so intelligent", yet have an almost infinite amount of motivation (ignorance is bliss...?).

Any thoughts?

I suppose it depends on the direction of the motivation.  I heard a little axiom that seems to have some truth to it.

Lower intelligent people speak about things.
Average intelligent people speak about people.
Higher intelligent people speak about ideas.

There's plenty of room for motivation when it comes to interacting with things and people.  But as far as implimenting ideas, that's a whole new ballgame.  You can talk all day about ideas with other intelligent people but if you can't take action due to overwhelming cirucumstances then the motivation will inevitably fade.  And if you aren't easily amused by things and people then you just end up giving up or giving in.
