Re: Urine

Most animals are infact not opposed to eating or generally using their own waste matter. Just a example, but bunnies eat some of their droppings to recycle their stomach bacteria. And we've probably all seen that video of that monkey drinking his own pee smile. And yes, the whole "eeeww. pee" is brainwashing and culturally induced, nothing more. Dosnt mean i'd ask my girlfriend if i could take a piss on her face.. As a face cream ... big_smile But it does mean that its such a shallow brainwashing because it vanishes as soon as you have ever come in contact with it smile

Anyway. big_smile Couldnt resist such a topic ;D

Re: Urine

Baby's don't think twice about peeing on themselves. My monkey does it frequently.
Palulukon, my wife, told me about a man who came to help her with some landscaping when she first out here to the woods. The tractor he was running ran out of fuel, so he lit his lighter to see down in the gas tank if it was out of fuel. I could not stop laughing about that part of the story. But, anyway, he drank his urine to treat the scarring after, of course, the fuel had ignited in his face. Little to no scarring after!

Guess I was just thinking about my cat.  She's terrified of her litterbox!!  big_smile  big_smile  She can't deal with poos in her cat box and freaks out until we get them out of there.  "Help!!  There's poos!   Get them away get them away!!!"   Hates the pee.  If the pee builds up too much she holds off on using the box and will go less.  But then there's dogs...I won't even go there.  big_smile  Totally different animal altogether!

This has been a strange and interesting topic though.  Have learned lots of stuff I didn't know 24 hours ago.

But I still won't drink the stuff or use it as a moisturizer.  I don't care what you all say!

Re: Urine

You forgot to mention that soaking one's hair in urine (pig urine, to be exact), is said to preserve the color of one's hair. Well, at least Mary Tudor thought it did.

In Nepal, when a Brahmin accidentaly comes into physical contact with an Untouchable, he or she drinks a concoction conaining cow's urine to "cleanse" him or herself. No, I didn't read that off of some dubious website, my best friend is Nepali.

Urine Therapy

In 1945, John W. Armstrong published a book called The Water of Life, A Treatise on Urine Therapy. The book explored the difficult-to-accept idea that drinking one's own urine will promote healing and restore health to those afflicted with grave illnesses. Martha Christy also published a book on this topic titled Your Own Perfect Medicine in the late 1980's. I highly recommend reading both of them. Christy's approach is more technical and includes injections of prepared urine tissue and taking urine drops under the tongue.

Armstong's approach is simpler: To resolve life-threatening disease conditions, drink every drop of your own urine and neither eat nor drink anything else until you are completely well!! In his book, Armstong provides the history of many, many patients with a variety of serious conditions (cancers, massive infections, heart conditions, etc.) who were frequently near The End. In some cases, the patient was so gravely disabled, that he couldn't produce any urine of his own. In those cases, Armstong would 'jump start' the patient with his own urine. Afterwards, the patient was able to produce a small amount of his own. With each subsequent ingestion of urine, the patient would gain in both strength and relief from pain. For the most serious cases, patients drank nothing but their own urine for periods of 90, 120, 150 days! Some, even longer. Armstrong points out that rubbing the body with old urine (for a substantial period of time, E.g.1-2 hours) is a necessary adjunct treatment to ingestion in very serious cases. In less severe cases, rubbing with old urine will clear up most skin conditions and produce a smooth, blemish-free skin if applied regularly (ladies, take note). Why this works is explained at length in the books, but briefly the

1. replenishment of vital tissues lost to the ill patient through the urine and the

2. reingestion, refinement, and re-filtering of antibodies and other immune enhancing substances allows the body to exclusively concentrate on destroying, unclogging, and removing the offending organisms and diseased tissue, without the burdens of routine work such as digestion and normal detoxification

Of course, we normally think of both urine and stool elimination as waste, but urine, unlike feces, is totally sterile. Mind you, it's the filtrate of your own blood. Many people in normal health drink urine daily in order to keep their health and maintain physical beauty. Get the books and read them. In the event of survival difficulties, this simple technique can save your life.

Beyond the Urine Therapy Story, I knew I had discovered a trusted and kindred spirit when Armstong began the book's Introduction with the following words: "Owing to the increasing part played by vested interests in many branches of human endeavor, not least in the very lucrative providing of remedies for disease, intelligent members of the public, are growing more and more distrustful of orthodox medical methods."

He continued the book's Introduction by asking why, after more than 50 years (as of 1945), can orthodox cancer researchers only offer the knife, radium, or X-rays to address this malignancy after so much time, money, and effort has been expended to discover its cause and cure? The author further inquires, why, after so many letters from doctors testifying to the highly unsatisfactory results of radium treatment (repeatedly published in the British Medical Journal), did the Cancer Ring ( the Cancer Establishment or Cancer Industry as we would refer to it today) continue to tout radium as the "best" therapy? Finally, why, did the Cancer Research Ring, who "still asks the public to donate large sums of money towards the discovery of a cure", continuously discount and belittle effective treatments for cancer, when those therapies were proposed by practitioners of non-orthodox medicine?

58 years later, nothing much has changed when it comes to the politics of Big Medicine. Today, we know the answers to John Armstrong's questions. Only the most naive and uninformed among us continue to believe the party line spouted by the pharmaceutical/medical establishment and their propaganda flunkies such as the The American Cancer Society: "The Cure for Cancer is just around the Corner"; "Get a Checkup and Write a Check"; "The Race for The Cure"; " Marathon to Beat  Breast Cancer"; etc. It's pure rot: nothing but lies to bilk the trusting and believing public out of their money and fend the appearace of doing honest research. The promoters and planners of these publicity/ fund raising events deserve the greatest possible condemnation for their deceit.

I would.

All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.

Re: Urine

While I was studying biochemistry a number of years ago, we had what we referred to as "urine lab" during which we had to study and analyze urine - mostly our own.

I found that mine was extremely alkaline, and I later learned it was because of a deficiency of something that was important in the urea cycle (I don't remember what it was) and because of that, my urine was extremely high in ammonia.

I'm glad I never drank it... besides being gross, consuming ammonia heavy urine - especially when you're unable to break it down - probably would have been very dangerous.

Re: Urine

I like to experiement with myself, and I'm willing to try just about anything. A few years ago I went on a fast where I drank my first urination of the day, and then only water during the rest of the day. You just take a cup into the shower in the morning, fill it up, and chug it down. I did this for about a week. By the end of the week I was barely able to swallow the stuff. It wasn't getting worse-tasting, I was just getting more and more disgusted with it. I didn't notice any benefits aside from those one usually gets while fasting and engaging in a discipline. But maybe I didn't know what to look for.

I recently read that marines urinate on their feet to treat foot fungus.

Maybe urine is good for the skin because of acidity?  Like hydroxy acids and vinegar are good for the skin?

I was thinking that myself earlier - I thought of Burt's Bees yummy garden tomato facial toner and face soap, and tomato is acidic.

So....if you want the acidic facial cleaner, but want to spare the grossness, then use Burt's Bees garden tomato facial toner instead.  It works, it's completely all natural, and it smells so good you want to just drink it up!  big_smile  In fact, here are the main ingredients, looking at the bottle I have in my medicine cabinet:   "....extracts of cucumber, green tea, parsley, tomato, billberry, sugar cane, sugar maple, orange and lemon (natural source of alpha-hydroxy acids)..."

You'll notice that their facial toner / cleansers use mostly lemon, orange, tomato, etc., stuff that's acidic.

6. Monitor And Balance Your Ph
pH refers to the acid/alkaline condition of the body. The body is normally mildly acidic, and maintaining the proper pH is crucial in urine therapy. pH values naturally change throughout the day. Morning urine is generally more acidic than mid-day urine, and pH also changes in response to diet - in general, foods like meats, coffee, alco- hol, milk, eggs and beans make the body more acidic while most fruits and vegetables have an. alkaline effect. (See Appendix for a more complete listing of add/alkaline foods). It's always good to keep an eye on both your urine and saliva pH levels, because both should present a proper acid/alkaline balance. The ideal pH range of saliva is about 6.4 - 7.2, (below 6.4 is too acidic, above 72. \s too alkaline). Saliva usually becomes more alkaline after eating and with a vegetarian diet. Urine pH should ideally vary from approximately 5.0 (acid in the morning) to 8.0 (alkaline at night) during each 24-hour period. If your urine or saliva pH levels are consistently out of range for a long period, of time, it means that your body is not functioning correctly or that your diet is consistently too add or too alkaline. pH measuring strips with numerical values are commercially available for testing your acid/alkaline levels and make it simple to regularly monitor your pH at home, (or see order form on last page). The tendency to overacidity is called acidosis which can be caused by such things as kidney, liver or adrenal disorders, improper diet, starvation, anger, stress, fear, fever or excess vitamin C, aspirin or niacin. Symptoms may include insomnia, water retention, migraine headaches, frequent sighing, abnormally low blood pressure, dry hard stools, alternating constipation and dianhea, sensitivity of the teeth, difficulty swallowing and recessed eyes. Alkalosis (when the body is too alkaline) can be caused by such things as excessive use of antacids or by poor diet, excessive vomiting (bulimia), endocrine imbalances, high cholesterol, osteo-arthritis, or diarrhea. Symptoms may include drowsiness, protruding eyes, creaking joints, sore muscles, bursitis, edema, night coughs, menstrual problems, allergies, night cramps, chronic indigestion, or asthma. The first and easiest methods that you can use to correct pH are to increase relaxation, rest, fresh air, and exercise, decrease stress and make dietary adjustments. If you're too acid, decrease acid foods in your diet and eat more alkaline foods; if you're too alkaline, decrease alkaline foods and eat more acid foods. (For a list of acid or alkaline foods see the Appendix at the back of the book).

It's extremely important to monitor your pH levels during urine therapy because if your urine is too alkaline, it may decrease its antibacterial activity. On the other hand, if the urine is consistently excessively acidic, urine therapy could create too much of an acid burden in your body. In this case, make certain that your diet is primarily alkaline-promoting foods, so that you are balancing your pH and not adding to your body's acid burden through ingesting extremely acidic urine. Also, if you have a severe chronic problem with acidosis (this is often tine of diabetics), use only a few drops of urine at a time, or substitute a homeopathic urine preparation. Test your urine pH once or twice each day for a few days when using urine therapy for the first time or when using it intensively. Do not ingest the same urine that you dip the pH strip into for testing. If you are taking only a small mamtenance dose per day, test pH once every three to five days in order to determine whether dietary adjustments are needed. If you find that your urine pH is very acid, add a pinch of baking soda to the urine you'll be ingesting to reduce the acidity.
