I just read an article on line from my local TV channel - Bay News 9.  Here is an excert from it:

Buying an excess of paint thinners could raise eyebrows.

Police say many who work in stores like Home Depot and Lowe's know their customers, what they typically buy, and what's an excessive amount.

"It's not a matter of profiling the person as much as it would be the purchase," said Captain Glen Smith with Largo Police.

The Largo fire and police departments offer training to store employees, which educates them about what materials should raise a red flag. So far they've visited home improvement stores, and shops that sell pool supplies, piping and electronics."

The "war on terror" is accomplishing I'm afraid what it was intended to do.  Allow a free-will choice for many to give up their integrity, to revert to more prejudice, to tell on their neighbor, to become more seperative and wary.  For example, many years ago there were no metal detectors in airports.  But then came the "high jackings" and everyone welcomed metal detectors.  (not that they ever prevented a high jacking)

This being a free will universe, it is vital that the players make free will choices ... which will bury them.  And attempt to bury some of us with them. 

Incredibly sad on this Independance Day.

Divide and conquer?

Cultivating fear and distrust in 'neighbours' to prevent information being shared and possible 'regrouping of minds'? (Ever seen "Boyz'n the Hood" especially Laurence Fishburne's speech?)

One of the available remedies is the low vibration entertainment machine (+alcohol and mind numbing drugs). Another one is the cultivating of an utopia (Lottery, get rich, become famous) as well as the illusory opportunities to join the 'elite' (get plastic surgery, work harder, buy the latest 'status toy', Platinum credit card...).
