Re: Complete health.

Well, I'm still here... just got myself knickerd in a knot over basically NOTHING that should have bothered me. roll
ANYWAY...more to report on the oil swishing. Whoever wrote that you shouldn't use a bottle of oil for longer than a month because it turns rancid..._knew_ what they were talking about. I found the Hains sunflower oil in the much smaller 12oz bottle size. I had a chance to buy organic...but just intuively stuck with the Hains. (not saying this is a 'right' or 'wrong' choice...only how I felt about it.) Besides, my cat likes the Hains. big_smile
I am, at this point, convinced that the oil swishing is lessening any of the effects I have had from fibromyalgia... The only time it returned was when I didn't swish for several days. So. The journey continues. smile I'd love to hear from others who are continuing this health project.

Re: Complete health.

Anything you spit out is likely to have bacteria in it. Bacteria also do not have embryos. I don't see any reason why the used oil mouthwash would be poisonous, any more than saliva is poisonous. They have the fat-soluble vitamins wrong - ADEK, not ACDE. I don't know whether all oils automatically contain much Vit A or not (which they say they do).

This regime may have benefits, or it may not.  It could be that its effects are due to nothing more mysitcal than the bacteria in the mouth (which are proven to have adverse effects on health) not being able to stick to whatever surface they've chosen because of the oil and/or getting killed by the oil and letting go, and the oil is more likely to be able to get into the nooks and crannies of the mouth than a toothbrush.

And then there is the saying: "It is ALL done unto you according to your beliefs"...Early Metaphysical Jesus. smile
Agreed....according to both Meta and Quauntum physics.
Everything is illusion. So we pick and choose within what appears to be this physical reality those things that, for various reasons, we say resonate with us.

Read my true story on Old Man and Old Lady Wolf.(thread under Health) That just 'goes to show ya' ... big_smile

Yes, even my fibromyalgia is 'illusionary' ..The immutable Law of Attraction entering here.... but I would rather swish sunflower oil ... than ever take any chemical from the phrarmaceutical companies....BECAUSE of my belief systems, regardless of how 'doctor's tests prove' that such and such a chemical drug works...

*bump*

wink

Kept forgetting to mention this, but a few weeks ago my tooth was acting up and so I used the (organic) sunflower oil swish on it.......and it nipped the problem in the bud!   No more tooth issue!

The tooth in question is a baby tooth, believe it or not, that didn't have a secondary tooth underneath it.  It's also coincidentally the only tooth I ever had a cavity in, so it has a (mercury sad ) filling in it.  The gum around it and the nerves were sore for some reason, acting up, and I could tell that it wasn't going to go away.  Normally it never has pain (again, believe it or not) despite being a baby tooth that's 31 years old.  So this was totally out of character, and means something was wrong.   Well, I don't have any $$$$....but I do have sunflower oil on hand.   Yay!  Did a swish two nights in a row, 15 minutes each, and poof, problem completely 100% gone.

I used to do the swish on a daily basis when this thread first came out, did it for maybe 2 weeks but then stopped.  Since I didn't have any tooth/gum/mouth issues it was impossible to tell if it was benefiting in any way.  The true test was to wait until I did have an issue.  Now I know....it works.  I don't know how, but it works, so yeah, I definitely have to recommend this as another mode of treatment if anybody has tooth/gum issues and either can't afford to go to a doc for it or is reluctant to.  Try a swish for a few days, see what happens.

Re: Complete health.

Just wondering.
Can anyone attest to the teeth whitening effect???

All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.

Re: Complete health.

Yes it does whiten teeth - over a period of time

Re: Complete health.

I have been doing this for a week now, and yes teeth are noticeably whitening (using coldpressed sunflower oil).  Also, my bro and his wife have been doing same since and they were amazed after 3 or 4 days only how much whiter their teeth are (they have been using cold pressed olive oil, and I rekon their results are more than mine, so maybe something in that), and we are all smokers (yep, tut tut).  We are all telling everyone, and most we know around here are into alternative remedies, so such info is very welcome.  What a great thing, we are all v.impressed, and grateful to have found it.

Will be monitoring other possible effects.  Seems to be opening the sinuses...

Thanks Jazzpen.

Each morning when you awake and before you do anything else put a table-spoon of the oil in your mouth. Don't swallow it. Swirl it around the inside of your mouth, gently, for 15 to 20 minutes, spit it out, wash your mouth out thoroughly, gargle, hawk ( you will feel your sinuses wanting to clear) Get rid of it all.

Okay I tried it this morning.  I don't see how it's possible to hold this for 15 to 20 minutes.  Those of you who can, please tell me how you are able to do it.  Within 2 minutes my mouth produces enough saliva to make me have to either spit or swallow.

For me, after I take the tablespoon (or slightly more) of the sunflower oil I make sure to exhale/blow out as much excess air from my mouth as I can, then begin the slow swishing.  Maybe exhaling excess air is the trick, because I haven't had the saliva problem.  If anything I just get sore cheeks.  big_smile It's worth sticking it out though if you have teeth issues, from what I've experienced.

Re: Complete health.

I'll definitely keep trying, it might take me a few weeks to work up to 15 minutes though!
