Topic: Unexplained Phobias
There is this site I found whose author theorized that unexplained phobias have a metaphysical connection, ie, a person who fears water may have drowned in a previous life. I can't remember the name of the site, but I do think it was on Montalk's list of links.
What do you think of this?
I have this unusual fear that suddenly appeared around 4th and 5th grade, when all this weird stuff started happening to me--the fear of insects entering body orifices, particularly the ears. I haven't heard of anyone else having it. I remember when I was a little girl, if a large insect like a wasp flew near me, I would clamp my hands over my ears and clench my mouth shut because of this odd phobia.
I have this other one--internal parasites, like tapeworms. Nothing terrifies me more than something icky like a worm living inside me. I have nightmares in which I cough up or vomit various parasites, from spiders to little white worms.
If there is some special reason behind this, I don't know what it is! Maybe in another life I was infested with a parasite that crawled into an orifice. ;p
