Topic: Nobody home

My boys took me for a hike yesterday (Sunday afternoon) through our neighborhood.  It was remarkable how empty the place was -- it was apparently vacant!  I didn't see another human being for 10 - 15 minutes, either out in the yard, inside a house visible through a window, or even on the local streets.    We saw houses from the front and also from woods behind them.  There was not even evidence of human life: no lights were on or anything, although that is generally not surprising because the sun was out.

It could have been a "ghost town".  Possibly the only other people I saw the whole time were in cars driving on the larger streets.  The walk took at least an hour.  This is a "family" neighborhood!  The neighborhood where I grew up (also a suburban neighborhood) was never quiet like this, that's for sure!

They were probably watching TV! wink

Never Give Up!

Re: Nobody home

You could be right.  But we probably saw 100 houses and didn't see any flickering TV screens thru the windows either.  If they were watching football, we didn't hear any cheering or booing or talking.  Nothing -- it was so peaceful!
