While millions will be celebrating tonight and wishing each other a happy new year i feel unconnected to the whole thing as for me there is no new year called 2006, just the ever expanding now.
Counting the number of earth orbits from a time when a famous man was born or since  something happened in history may hold some academic interest but i wonder how much the naming of days, months and years may help to trap one in the matrix by not being in the here and now and mistaking the name for the thing itself, the map for the territory, the menu for the meal etc.

Its always a "new year" in the ever expanding now, personally i prefered the system our ancestors used before we adopted the gregorian calander when the new year was celebrated when the new growth began in spring.

A very happy and abundant now to you.

Its not like we are fractions of the whole but rather versions of the whole.

Amen Doc,

I don't wear a watch, barely look at a calendar (my work schedule is set so I just work on remembering the number of days between "episodes".

I kept my "childhood" version of my name refusing to use the "real" adult form except on legal forms.

Glad I'm not the only one wondering about this line of thought.
