Topic: My Apologies

I would like to apologise to the forum members for my comments relating to the tattoo thread.  Instead of posting it in there, I have taken Tom's advice and started a new thread.

I understand that provocation and reaction to it pollutes the forum. In fact I felt 'dirty' afterwards.

However from now on I intend to make a conscious effort to spot provocative statements, and let them slide. To do differently helps no one, and I think helping others is the reason why most of us found this forum in the first place.

Re: My Apologies

Hello from merry New England, matt.
I'm not sure this deserves its own thread, but there it is.

It is tempting at times to jump right in
and voice our opinions, even when the opinions themselves really are not in question.

Willingness to acknowledge shortcomings is a sign of maturity.

Like you said "let it slide" and don't let it degrade to the point where we are invoking intellectual superiority.

A little more genuine discussion, a little less "daytime talk show" antics.

Apology accepted, matt.
