Some Fiction Recomendations (elementalism and biblical farce)

The Blending and The Blending Enthroned Series by Sharon Green - Very good perspective on elementalist magic in a society where all forms of 'power' are heavily regulated by childish elitism.

and of course the classic:

Good Omens by Neil Gaimen and Terry Pratchett - Very poingeint book about the silliness of war and prophesy as an unchanging rule of events.
