I got in at about 3AM last night and saw what appeared to be a bright shooting star, followed by black cat walking along the sidewalk across the street, which stopped directly across from me and looked over my way for a bit.  I decided it might be a good idea to go inside and lock the door. smile    No missing time.

awww...black kitties get such a bad rap.  sad   Once you've owned a black cat there's no going back.  They're the best breed I've seen so far.  Mine is emotionally smart, really sensitive, affectionate, talkative, curious, high energy, active like a kitten even though she's 6! very friendly and sociable.   She's got to be involved in anything we do.  She's like a dog cat!  She's even fetched paper balls like a dog!   Let's hear it for black cats!  big_smile

OK -- this is off thread -- but I can't resist.  I too have a black cat.  The daughter of my cat Lily.
Shadow (the black cat - duh) is the most incredible cat in the world!! She's completely affectionate -- every night without fail as soon as I turn off the light, she jumps on my bed, does her talking thing, lies on my chest and then takes her paw gently and touches my face.  It's amazing.  AND since she lives with my dog, Misha, she thinks she's a dog too -- she's been known to actually sit and growl at someone at the door.

Yes -- black cats are THE best.

So no one likes Gray cats? lol

Re: Everything You've Been Told About the "Grays" is Bunk

Ha ha ha ha, Jen!  I agree that black cats are wonderful.  Every one that I've been around has had an amazing personality.  There does seem to be something truly unique about black cats.

Re: Everything You've Been Told About the "Grays" is Bunk

The sad part about black cats is the amount of superstitious predjudice they get....all because their fur looks black from a distance! (when you get one under bright sunlight you can see how the fur glistens in rainbow colors and actually has almost a reddish glow overall to it.)  They're just stunning when they're in good physical shape, loooong bodies, muscular, and fur that looks like a velvet coat.  Plus their faces are adorable!  If you have a Bombay, then they have these little wedge heads with huge yellow / green eyes, giving them a kitten-like appearance.   Unfortuntely, black cats are the least likely to get adopted at a shelter.  sad  But yet, they'll be the best cat you've ever had.  Nothing compares to these cats' personalities, it's unbelievable.   People don't even realize.  I read a story once about a woman who worked at an animal shelter and was always seeing the black cats getting euthanized because nobody would adopt them.  One day there was a little black male kitten that was on its last day.  He was also the only kitten / cat that was playing in his cage, batting something around, full of pep and cuteness.  She was going around assigning names to the animals and came up with "Jellybean" for the black kitty.  The name sounded so cute that it got the attention of some people who came to look at the animals, and the black kitten wound up getting adopted that day.  After that, she began assigning the name Jellybean to all the black cats, and each time it worked, it would get people's attention and the cats would be adopted.  smile

"In 1958, a Kentucky (USA) breeder deliberately bred a black American shorthair and a sable-brown Burmese in an effort to creat a domestic cat that resembled the wild Panther. This novel combination successfully produced offspring that resembled the Black Leopard of India, The Bombay name, taken from the Indian city of Bombay (now Mumbai), honours the native country of the wild cousin."

That's adorable! And, great about the Jellybean success story. I actually have a special feeling for black cats myself, I've always preferred them.  My cat Ms. Magoo is black and white, and helps remind me of this polarity game I'm playing.

You've hardly provided any legitimate answers.  Respect is something which is earned and based on your responses it is not requited.  This isn't a pissing contest, I was just trying to resolve some questions which I had.  See my first post.

Re: Everything You've Been Told About the "Grays" is Bunk

Had an unusual sighting tonight.   A friend and I saw a large, very bright light motionless in the sky tonight.  It was to the southwest of our vantage point in the Tarzana area of the San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles.  After awhile (and some air traffic coming near) it got dimmer and smaller, then disappeared completely.  My friend then saw it again about half an hour later due south of the same viewing position; after a few minutes it then saw a strange looking aircraft approach it, and then the light vanished instantly.

Hi Jen,

Just wondering if you have any thoughts about my post to you back on the 20th.  It was an interesting dialogue.  smile

Hi visavis,

I've said all I have to sa on the subject, and don't want to repeat myself endlessly.  You and others here believe the Zetas are all negative, I don't.  Since there is no way to prove either viewpoint objectively, we'll just have to agree to disagree.  Ultimately it's not about being right or wrong, but following the dictates of our inner guidance.  This may lead us in different directions, but ultimately we all end up at the same place.

Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing
and rightdoing there is a field.
I'll meet you there.
When the soul lies down in that grass
the world is too full to talk about.
