Topic: are we there yet?

I  am wondering how many of you have come to a point of "generic spirituality" for lack of a better term, from first an atheistic p.o.v.- onto a rigid, structured belief system...... only to find yourself smack in the middle?
Lukewarm?
This is not to mean lack of fervor or creativity, necessarily.
But rather- which direction to focus my energy in order to make the ascension?
Not too sure about the 'Rapture'
at this point.
I do feel at some level that it is indeed possible to escape the future that those in power would have for us.
I feel now after 4 solid years of "fringe" research, most "religions" are very intricate cages- also delicate ones
I'm not one to wear labels and I mean no disrespect to anyone who chooses to.
In using the word generic i mean being deeply spiritual yet refusing to align with ANY established framework?
And ultimately- where is that place we want to be? I do have issues with visualizing Heaven as justabunchafluffyclouds.........
Are we really the architects of our own dwellings? I think so.
And when do we really begin to see our new home under construction- do we get to PICK our neighbors- does it look anything like this place AT ALL- does it resemble the strangest dreamscape, or is it that place here on terra firma with all the actors and scenery merely upgraded?

Re: are we there yet?

If you want to live in Heaven, build it. There is no need to "ascend" (i.e. flee) if you are able to improve your surroundings. Don't try to escape a bad future, instead create a better one.

Yep, that's me!

Re: are we there yet?

Live as if you're already "there".  Whatever it is you envision just go ahead and live it.  It doesn't matter what things look like now or in the future, because matter is an illusion anyway.  It's our intentions, emotions, and thoughts that are real, and they color the illusion around us and determine how we will experience it.  There's nothing to wait for, because for each of us there is only now!

Re: are we there yet?

Nice. Some cool cat posts here wink  Brought to mind a comic I'd once clipped out of the paper. Don't know where it is now, else I'd scan and post it.

Around New Year's Eve two cats are talking about how people are all excited, going around saying "Happy New Year!" to each other. Small cat asks the bigger one, "What's a year?". Big cat answers, "Don't know, it's got something to do with time." Small cat says, "What's time?" Big cat, "Don't know. Got something to do with now." Small cat jumps up, yelling, "Happy Now! Happy Now!" Together they jump and shout, "Happy Now now!"

Methinks some cats are wise. Happy Now now, everybody! smile

Re: are we there yet?

Thanks for the feedback, Aprogas and Soloflecks.
I am struggling with the "getting there" part.
No offense intended, but "just build it" is a little simplistic.
The instant coffee of personal enlightenment.
Maybe i'm not that evolved.
"your dream future existence in one easy installment!"
I heve done some looking into the holographic universe theory- and i believe it was in one of those articles where one line really struck me- i'm not quoting here but the line went something like
"our reality only exists behind a 5 billionth of an inch (thickness of an atom?) thick boundary on the outer surface of our eyes, everything in front of that is our own projection".....
Mass hallucination? I guess!
Another line that comes to mind is from that 'power of intention' guy-
when we change the way we look at things, the things we look at change.
On a soul level these statements make absolute perfect sense to me.
Now...... do I need some kind of build-it-yourself sensory deprivation tank to see this?
I have made an effort to alter my perception.
Growing up I called myself a realist.
Looking back I can see that was truthful- but I had a pessimistic bent.
Point I am attempting to make here is, as much as i try to turn this reality into a better one- I still am seeing the cesspool.......
the one in which we are inundated daily with more forced negativity and soullessness. More fake terror bs.
This is not a cop-out on my part- I am not giving up OR giving in..... EVER.
Are you literally talking about creating a separate time 'sidescale"?
If so I require A LOT more mentoring!!! ;-)
Again I want to thank everyone here in advance for the replies<>

yeah.. i find all the frameworks rather suffocating..

"The instant coffee of personal enlightenment."
ya, ive kinda begun to hate vague concepts such as this.. more often than not i find myself abandoning concepts like this and just considering myself an idiot whos lucky to stay alive.

"I am struggling with the "getting there" part."
im not sure if i get this right, but isnt this the simplest thing ever? i mean just doing what u want?
maybe your research is stopping u? when i was deep into research and later let go of it i found out that thinking in terms of allkinda spiritual research that was done by other people it was harder to do my own thing for the heck of it

Re: are we there yet?

Matter is not an illusion per se, it just isn't the ultimate and complete truth (i.o.w. it's real, it's just not all of reality). It is a building material that can be rearranged and be made into things that will have meaning to the perceiver. The solution to people starving in developing countries is not making them ascend, it is rearranging the world in such a way they can have food as well. Let's first fix and complete our own layer before considering moving to the next.

Re: are we there yet?

"Our own layer" can only be changed by transforming ourselves from the inside out, so it's still not a matter of action in 3D.  Activism, while based on good intentions, will only rearrange the scenery and perhaps provide temporary relief for some but not a permanent solution.   It's what's in the heart that motivates every human, and that's what has to change in order to transform the world.

Re: are we there yet?

^^ i ´d say that activism is good start if u wanna change something, direct action accomplishes alot and may be essential part in this "transformation" so it doesnt necessarily have to be just rearranging the scenery, though i guess there is many kind of activism

Re: are we there yet?

We thought we'd accomplished a lot through our activism back in the Viet Nam era, but things have come full circle.   We were not able to change the nature of the beast and so here we are again.  Temporary change is possible through activism, but permanent transformation is not.   Conscience, integrity, love, compassion, etc. cannot be imposed by activism.  Those will only be in enough supply to change the world when enough people transform themselves.  What we see in the world is a projection of what is in our collective hearts, so when we transform ourselves everything transforms.

Re: are we there yet?

Soloflecks- you did have an impact in your generation as well as successive generations.
Take that at least from me as I am a gen-Xer
I am 33- too young to remember the closing days of that war- but it's aftermath we have all lived with.
It IS so VERY frustrating for me as well- seeing this horrifying game played out over and over.
Now it seems we have but one real spokesperson for the latest generation of activists
Cindy Sheehan.
What a courageous woman!
Yet as things get exponentially worse on a global scale regarding human rights (lack thereof) etc.-
we see a much smaller proportion
of opposers.
A major reason for that is simply the media's willful ignorance and outright deception.
Personally speaking, I would not be writing this were it not for my predecessor's impact on me.
IT DID NOT GO UNNOTICED!!!
Much appreciation<>

Re: are we there yet?

To tell you how bad it is today, I think of the late 60's as the good old days.  I never, ever thought I'd say that.

Re: are we there yet?

I think of the NINETIES as the good old days
Fathom that!
I do believe in activism, however
I think it should be an inner-circle activism- because as Soloflecks said- the nature of the beast does not change.......

Re: are we there yet?

And I meant to also add that the peace movement of that era was infiltrated to the teeth, so that's another reason to beware of large organized efforts.
