Topic: My Catholic School's Propaganda

Hey guys I'm in 10th grade and is still hating it, but heres a little something thats overlooked in my school.

http://channelone.com/ ----- I realize that the site is very heavily geared as a "teenagish" by it's design but please read on.

Catholic schools are sold out on this propaganda, sold out on "Free TVs" my Catholic school and many across the country agree to show their programing everyday while allowing  the company to give the school free TV's connected. The sad thing is the TV are worth a buck each - but that doesn't matter.

We watch the programming and are basically forced to watch Marine, Army, Navy, and AA advertisments.  And one thing I want to note is that while the whole news cast will be present in a volume of 10 these military are broadcast at twice that volume and the hallway is usually blasted with "An Army of One" slogan.

Most of my classmates don't care but it scares the S*** out of me. Then the comercials are presented with this strange music soundtrack, not knowing how to explain this but if 10 people are watching the newscast - when the comercial is on most of the class is watching (sicking, I think is a hypnosis).

Just as scary are the ancher people. Which are so robotic that their laughs are hard to make out. Other then that they have various celeberties ( both  adult and children but I think their neither) on the show like Docota Fanning.
On a second though who is mind controlled beyond belief, she is around 11 but was talking about marketing, then they have other A personalties which is strange.

I don't know if this board cares about this since most of you are 40's 30's and 20's. This just goes to show how a private organization like a Catholic school can be "bought out" with the promise of free merchandise.

It's funny how our school tells us we are "Intergrated Individuals" I guess we are all just pieces of a corporate Lego masterpiece.

Religon is very important in this school
we must write god in CAPITALS
we must do as the bible tells us
I guess they found a loophole
the big secret is that the bible never said free TV's in exchange to sell the children to the corporation is a sin.

Just my sense of humor guys thats all. Thanks in advanced for all the replys and if I see none here I guess thats how its was suppose to happen.

Re: My Catholic School's Propaganda

I went to a public high-school and we had Channel One as well. Anderson Cooper who is now a big star at CNN used to be an anchor there. The commercials we had (this was 96-98) were mostly Pepsi, Gatorade, Pizza Hut, and so on. For those who don't know, Channel One gives (almost) free TV's to classrooms around the country in exchange for making teens watch the news show which is half commercials. The classrooms then get to use the TV for other activities. Doesn't surprise me that the military pounced on this opportunity, perhaps that was the plan all along.

Not sure if I remember right, but we weren't allowed to nap during Channel One, so it was pretty much forced indoctrination. Sure, we are responsible for what we accept, but the boredom and misery of school made kids more appreciative and therefore hypnotically receptive to whatever was on.

You know, public schools and catholic schools might not be that different, the first worships the State and the second worships the Church. So you have 2 years left... man, sorry to hear that but hang in there.  If the comets/aliens come sooner, you might get out early (just kidding...sort of ).

Acquiring fringe knowledge is like digging for diamonds in a mine field.

Re: My Catholic School's Propaganda

Oh man what they are doing is horrible. I went to a religious Primary School (Junior school in USA?) and I remember that we sang a lot of songs. That's the worst it would get big_smile. We didn't know how read yet so the bible wasn't exposed to us. I'm glad i didn't go to a religious high school. That's really ridiculous that there is free TV at your school. I don't think I EVER got to watch TV at school, unless it was for educational purposes, but only then are videos used instead of mainstream TV.

Looks like the American education system is getting screwed over big time. If I was in that position i might consider getting out.

Re: My Catholic School's Propaganda

At least you are aware of it.  Stay aware and do not fall into the traps set before you.  If you must watch the programming, *always* keep in the front of your mind that it is just that -- PROGRAMMING.

You're obviously on the right track and in the right frame of mind, since we find you here on NR.  You may not be able to save your classmates, but you can save yourself.

Remember you're an individual.

Re: My Catholic School's Propaganda

Well most of the other advertising that is presented which is 10 minutes out of 15 that we have to watch is video games, candy, and most of the other sugar based products. But the military comercials are on twice each is a, I think, a 30 second spot.

Most of it goes aganist everything we are taught. How can we stop playing games when we go to school and are sold its glitter.

I think the Channel One influence is even an impact on the teachers directly or indirectly. Example- I used to sleep throught the whole class and not worry about the teacher.
But since friday after I got caught jumping out the bathroom window to ditch school, The DEAN has ordered all my teachers to watch me closely.
I usually try to close my eyes so hard that the back of my head hurts when Channle One is on that now the teachers are basically watching me when they should be watching Channel One.
I am trying to not get sucked into all these lies but the teachers are forcing me, they even said that if I sleep in class It might be grounds for expulsion! Outrageous. But anyways.

I remember a newsreport they showed us on the War, they played it of as if the Muslims are killing hundreds of our troops while our "troops" are bombing them with laser guide miselles and only hitting building, that must be the Biggest BS ever. Afterward a Army comercial would ring into classroom to assure us that we can all fight the war!

I once tried telling me classmates that this is total BS but they are completly mesmirised by all the comercials and beautifull newscasters.
Im sorry about the rant its just everyday I go throught this BS and have to be an Intergrated Individual at my sold out school.

I just need on piece of advice
I told my mom she needs to send me to a different school and she says no --- Should I just get myself expeld?

By the way they teacher are always saying the same thing to my mom " Hes a gifted child, but the those no apply himself".
Im crazy.

Wow everybody thank you. Yea every once in a while they talk about all the sucsess their anchermen acquire. CNN, NBC, Fox.
It seems to me everything that is good in the media Is always connected to " you'll be famous which means your sucessfull".
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After I read this over after a while I figured out I have ran my thread of the the road by asking and telling needless information.
I'am sorry to anyone who has been turned of by that.
But in the back of mind I guess everything leads to something else. So if anyone likes change and a curvy road please don't judge me by my topics ( althought that is the only way you can ).

Please if you post be honest about my postings becuase I am new to NR and do not want to go on in such a fashion that might ruin other topics.:D

I don't think your situation is going to change even if you go to a new school. Your mom isn't going to change either it seems. Looks like you're going to have to stick it out. Make your prison situation a training ground for your personal strength and independence.

War propaganda. They used it in the first World War, they're using it now. Just realise that you are being fed trash and that will empower you to resist it.

Make your prison situation a training ground for your personal strength and independence.

Great advice, I want to note something a noticed.

A little while back some seniors from a '00 class came and where dressed in army gear because they are in the program.
And then came all the girls to them. Seems to me the the Army is now a symbol of sex appeal, coolness, and greatness.
And concerning the Amry comercial - I remember one greatly. I shows a sniper looking at group of Arabs, then come the carefully planned words of how great it is " to be unseen, and not eating for days" Seems to me that would be reason not to join, but I guess the kids are so messed up they think that "cool".

*Off Topic*
My history book had a picture of Arnold Schwar....whatever as a great body builder right in the middle of chapter having nothing to do with him.
He is posed as a great figure of power and along side him is the great Helen Keler. Now that just freaked me out. Why would in the middle of a chapter about the 1700's would they have Arnold next to Helen Keler? *I would scan this page from the book but I can't srry.
*
So I'm just walking throgh school and wondering? Am I the only one that notices this BS? I guess everyone is just caught up in the web of nonsense.
Thank You Montalk for Noting some other aspects of Channel One.
I didn't know that the military wasn't involved in you time, I guess just plan, I guess if they came out with the military of the bat the schools would look crosseyed at their "free TV".
Don't kid your self thoses TVs can only play channel one Almost anything else is impossible - IE they have no ports in the back for a VCR or Anything.

You're just going to have to endure this mate. It will all work out in the end if you're on the right path.

Re: My Catholic School's Propaganda

NotOne,

It's always good to see high school kids finding their way out of that mental prison system.  Excellent thread.  I had Channel One at my (public) high school too, for me it was 1990-94.  It was already just a way for Coke to advertise to a young captive audience.  Luckily back then, since there wasn't a war going on, it wasn't about military recruiting (as far as I can recall, anyway).  It still was terrible, though.  Anyway it's good you're finding other like-minded people which is really important to staying sane in this looney country we're now living in.

If you're comfortable overall in school, it may be worth sticking it out.  I know one girl who was my age dropped out sophomore year, got her G.E.D. and went on to community college -- she got her Associate's degree the same time the rest of us were graduating high school.   The G.E.D. might be an alternative if you're interested, but you have to be able to pass the tests to get it in the first place ... you'd need to do some research to see what you need to do to qualify and get it.   Just plain dropping out is probably not a good idea unless you know exactly what you're doing.   Of course, if the alien invasion begins soon as Montalk is predicting big_smile  then yes, you may wish you'd dropped out and spent your time reading up on alien-defense tactics hehe.   Anyway good luck to you and hang in there one way or another, whatever you end up doing.

Re: My Catholic School's Propaganda

I've been thinking of droping out and building my life, but I keep remembering how in school and on TV they always talk about income potential for a drop out.
It probably a scam, but it always been told to me that a college drop out will make 50% the income of a high school graduate, mabye just to scare me

I'm not stuiped I know there is some truth in that, but as Morningsun said it's bad to drop out and not have a net to fall into.
I think part of the problem is that in HS they barly teach anything that would acutally help me. I would love to learn more about G.E.D's. and other safe nets for dropping out of HS. I guess then I wouldn't fit in with being a Intergrated Individual - is it just me or those that sound like a computer term?

Thank you for the replys, now I have to go to school.

Re: My Catholic School's Propaganda

I went to Catholic Highschool for 9th and 10th grade also. I didnt have to deal with mindless channel 1 or anything like that but I hated it none the less. It was definatly more uptight and more binding. I hated getting up in the morning having to go there. Its a horrible system that claims its a better education when in reality they teach the SAME EXACT thing that a public school teaches just more mind numbing with more uptight people.. What a highschool experience. What ever you do dont let them take your mind or your soul!

Re: My Catholic School's Propaganda

I remember my 9th grade gym teacher having a TV set up in the gym so we could watch the Cuban missile crisis.  In high school in the 60's they didn't need to bother so much with propaganda, because there was a military draft.

As college degrees became emphasized more and more it felt like manipulation to me, especially after the draft ended.  It seemed a way to create a much bigger economically disenfranchised group many of whom would latch onto military promises of money for college.  Today I know a number of people with degrees who cannot find a job in their degree field; they are working at nominal jobs making much less than what they were told they would make with a college degree.  Too many jobs have moved off shore!

Re: My Catholic School's Propaganda

Thanks for your posts.  I can say that personally, I am excited to see people in high school writing in this forum.

I have mixed feelings about the experiences you are having in school.  On the one hand, it sounds like the propaganda/brainwashing is getting really out of control.

When I was in high school (90-94) we didn't have all that crap.  Propaganda was limited to textbooks wink

On the other hand, I find it promising that anybody at all is even noticing what is going on.  At sixteen years old, I had very few concerns outside of how I was going to get more beer and when I would be able to have sex with my girlfriend.

My "awakening" didn't come until about midway through college, and I'm still in the process of it ten years later.

I'm not sure what to tell you as far as advice.  Getting expelled doesn't sound like the best option because (I'm assuming) you are not of legal age and it will probably get you into an even worse situation.

As far as "earning potential" goes, IMO it is all a bunch of crap.  Some months ago I saw a clip on the news where Bubba was talking to a group of people and pontificating on how getting a higher education will earn you an average of a million bucks over your lifetime.

Um. . a million bucks over a lifetime?  Do the math.  Especially for people who decide to live the life of a corporate monkey, married with 2.5 kids, and a house and car that they can't really afford, it's not that much money.

My suggestion is to spend what free time you have focusing on what you love and what you're good at.  You can earn money doing just about anything.  Trust me.  And nothing is stopping you from doing that right now, while you are still in school.

As far as girls go, well, the temptation is great to pursue a path that doesn't really represent who you are in order to attract a mate.  But you will save yourself a lot of heartache by just being who you are.  The more powerfully you express yourself, the more attractive you will become to a girl who will be into you for you, and not for a false image of you.

You can take everything you are seeing as a sign that TPTBs are getting more and more desperate.  It's the final cattle call, and there is no doubt that the cows will be slaughtered in the end.  Be happy that you are not one of them!

And know this.  The picture of the world that you are being shown is not representative of what is really going on.  It sounds like you have already "caught on" but are still in doubt over your feelings.

Trust your feelings.  Keep doing your own research.  I think you are on the right track.

It is not for us to understand love, but simply to make space for it.

Re: My Catholic School's Propaganda

Yeah Tenetnosce you are right I have caught on but still am confused.

Thank you all.

And as far as girls go I don't think I'm going to get caught up in that BS.

Anyone else in highschool I hope will post - But I am not promoting nonsense post.

I have expanded all my feelings into this thread about school, likewise I am all dried up.

Everyone is free to contribute as much as they wish but my replys will be limited so don't expect much.

I shall close this post now with a positive thought, thank Montalk, and hope for my generation.

Re: My Catholic School's Propaganda

NotOneThing,

Thanks so much for posting here. Please know that we all value what you have written and empathize with what you are going through.

I don't know that this helps any, but most of us have at some point had to exist within a "prison" structure of some sort until we could work ourselves out of it. They aren't always fun, but they are really excellent learning experiences. If nothing else, you're learning how to remain a sovereign, free willed, individual in the midst of hive consciousness.  You encounter the same thing in the "adult' world in most corporate structures, so please don't think this is limited to your environment. . . even though it obviously SUCKS at the moment, and we all feel your pain!

I wanted to address the college thing.....I was an artsy fartsy high school chick who had always gravitated towards theater, music, writing, and singing, and I was already heavily involved with this while in high school at the professional level. I swear it kept me sane, and it also helped awaken my psychic and spiritual awareness.  The arts also helped me to make important friendships with kids outside of my school, from all over the place, and we all helped each other stay grounded in our own cool reality throughout the rest of high school.

Maybe there is stuff connected to school or even outside of school that could help you in a similar way, activities, workshops, independent study programs, summer college programs, that would give you a much-needed lift and allow you to mingle with other tuned in people.

Try finding things (outside of school, if necessary) that give you joy, creativity, and a desire to learn more.  The more you can accumulate skills now, the quicker you can transition into the "adult" world and do something cool on your own.

I briefly attended college but when I discovered that none of my professors had ever appeared on stage professionally, I went, "What am I doing here?" And I pursued a career in the arts on my own.  I've never looked back. Since the age of 19 I've been 90% self-employed, either in the arts or in holistic health work.  Not finishing college has never made any impact on my ability to earn a living. In fact, you may find that as the pace of technological change continues to grow at such a rapid pace, it's really more important to stay on top of new technologies and learn how to use them to do your own cool stuff. That way, companies can hire YOU as a consultant because you have specialized knowledge, and you can often set very good rates for yourself even as a beginner and as a young person.

Learning how to build websites, do graphic design, and writing of all kinds (especially short and snappy pieces like the type people love to read online) would be great places to start if you haven't learned these things already. When you can put together your own site, you can then SELL STUFF off of it, an income can be coming in whenever you're ready for it.

These are just thoughts off the top of my head. But I wanted to pat you on the back, tell you you're not alone, and affirm that sensitive, tuned in younger folks are SO COOL....and we welcome you here at Montalk.
