Topic: STO or STS, each is a Way.

STO and STS have never really meant much to me untill now, that is I never thought about it much.
An individual who consciously engages with life as an STO ought to be celebrated, no question.
But we might look on a scale that can take in humanity as an entirety rather than as a bunch of individuals.
From the aspect of outer space you, as an objective intelligent being, look down upon Earth, watching the goings-on of the dominant habitants - what conclusions would you come to?
Is that horde of humanity you are watching STO or STS?
The answer surely has to be STS, we are busy raping and poluting the frigging planet! and we Lord over Nature like a tyranical despot - sucking all the energies we can out of her.
  Non-stop.
That is putting it in the simplest terms.
There isn't going to be a 'split' or 'shift', that already happened a very long time ago.
There will actually be a merger.
I suspect this is what once happened to the Pleiadians and they went STS which in turn had serious ramifications on the way humanity has been faring because the Pleiadians have a long association with planet Earth and us.
Jen, I think it was, timefuly remindes us 'as above, so below' so are the Pleiadians and millions upon millions of beings on other planes of existance, on other dimensions, levels, time planes, parallels facing crisis point similar to what we as humanity are facing?
Many of them, I feel, are watching intently to how we will react and the decisions and value judgements that we will make as we cope with a multitude of paradigm experiences.
STO and STS might well be modified to STAO ( Service To All Others) and STOS ( Service To One Self) to give a more precise meaning to what each demands from us.
There is no right or wrong.
  Either is a Way.
My personal choice is STAO as probably the overwhelming majority of the NR members are also, I hope.
But what does it really mean to be a true-blue STAO?
I am still meditating on this.

Re: STO or STS, each is a Way.

Interesting concepts, Eagle Red.

Here's something that just came to mind: STA is how STS can be most like STO.

From what I understand, being pure STO would not require personal upkeep because one would automatically exist in a transcendental state beyond material limitations.

But as long as you enter an STS world through an STS body, then STA is the most noble yet practical path that balances service with survival. Basically it just comes down to following your heart, wisdom, going with the flow, and respecting/defending freewill. I think STA is the same as being an "STO candidate."

The examples commonly used to demonstrate the shortcomings of STO, like the Jedi knights or lightsiders getting abused by predators because of their naivete or those Rip van Winkle types who neglect their own needs, these are bad examples because they portray an imbalanced attempt at being STO. They try to have their cake and eat it too - try to act selflessly while still subject to STS limitations and lacking the wisdom to balance these, which always ends in martyrdom.

As defined by the Ra Material which coined those terms, STO means "serving self by serving others" while STS essentially means "serving self by manipulating others into serving self." Both involve the terms "self" and "other" - just in different order of priority, the first creating a balance between the two, the latter an imbalance.

Acquiring fringe knowledge is like digging for diamonds in a mine field.

Re: STO or STS, each is a Way.

Thank you Energy and Montalk. What I mean by service to all others is as in service to every living thing. Our planet Earth is of course a living entity as is everything that dwells upon it.
Service to one self is not unlike when you believe in and worship One God as in One Self. This to me is STS even if it doesn't appear to be on the surface.
Perhaps 'service' is the wrong word, maybe we could substitute it with 'empathy' or 'concern', something like that.

Re: STO or STS, each is a Way.

I've been practicing "Give all to all", which I adopted many years ago from The Course of Miracles.  It has been a life experiment for me for about twenty years.  In the last few years I've been digesting the concepts of STO from RA.  These concepts are very close, and both transforming.

What I've noticed is that the abundance in my life is very different than many people.  I haven't taken the monetary power in business I could have.  Still, much of any lack has been filled by others.  Of course, I created this and juggled my situations all along.  So mostly it was just a game.  I would do it again, but it was not easy in our competitve society.

Lately I've learned that giving to others for very little in return can be assuming the other person to be "lacking", or has a shortage.  This is often inacurrate, and doesn't really paint the other person in strength.  So I'm continually motifying my concepts in giving and recieving.  The balance is where proper (RFA) "Respect For All" exists.

And after STO for a long time . . . I've been feeling the need to slow down.  I am now very comfortable to recieve from life in a big way.  Bring it on!!!  LOL

I really like the idea of incorperating the being "earth", all life forms and the whole cosmos in STO, STA and now STAO.  Great ideas here Noble friends.

Thanks for the inspiration.
