Lyra thats just what happens to me, where i work they are always having cancer charity events usually for the "research" type charities
I have had the same looks of incredulation on the faces of those collecting, when i tell them the sickness industry make billions out of cancer and the suppressed alternative treatments and all that.

I don't bother anymore now, i just say No poiltely as i know i am wasting my breath. I know that these are well meaning people who are just a bit mislead  but  because its "cancer" and the old emotional blackmail thing it takes effort to say no.
I give to a local cancer charity that offers alternative information and councelling and complimentry therapies.
Shocking  the way they spend billions on finding chemical patent treatments while ignoring the causes and they just will not touch any research that links chemicals and diet with cancer and thus prevention.
see this link http://www.mindfully.org/Health/Finding-The-Cure.htm

Keep dangling the carrot "we are just a few years away from a cure"
problem is they have been saying that for the last 30 years and people keep falling for it.

Its not like we are fractions of the whole but rather versions of the whole.

Hey lyra,

I'm the same way, especially when you think about what the government and these same "research" groups have kept from the public knowledge (because it works and didn't take as long or as many funds) because success eludes them and it's not "their good name" getting mentioned.

I've even said similar stuff...." so many foundations, billions of dollars given and still only hope, nothing definitive yet no true treatment breakthrough.

Mainstream society has become such a bad dream gone awry.  From modern "health" and medicine practices, to our money system, to our laws and police and government beaurocracy, to our petroleum run transportation system, just everything.  A total bad dream.   The way modern mainstream society goes about most everything is just so bassackwards and inane.   I'd be liable to say "Gee, it's like they're purposely TRYING to do everything the opposite of the way it should ideally be done!!!!"......except, well, that's exactly what's happening.

"What's the most beneficial way we could treat this person's cancer?"

"Well, get to the pyschological root of the problem first; next, investigate what hyperdimensional stuff may be going on with them, and finally, let's look at the aura while we're at it, see if there any holes going on.  Then we'll get this person back on track mentally and tweak their diet to something healthy so that the physical works itself out..."

"What??  No!  I say nuke 'em with chemo!  Kill it!!  KILL ALL OF IT!!!!  MMMMWAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

"Okay."

"What's the most beneficial way we could get ourselves from Point A to Point B?"

"Well, for starters we could use the "Beam Me Up Scotty" technology that the black ops factions are using to transport their abductees around.  That's very convenient and saves time.   It's also outside of time....so you'll never be late for anything again!    You zip in and out of the timeline like it never happened!   But if that's not feasible, then we could always use one of those cars that's powered by water and other alternative fuel means."

"What???  No!  I say rape and plunder the Earth!!!!!!!!  Suck it dry of all its oil and then burn burn BURN it until the ozone layer disappears and the planet becomes Venus II!!!!    Kill it!!  KILL ALL OF IT!!!!!  MMMMMMWAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!"

"Okay."

--------

"What's the most beneficial way we could obtain the goods we need in life?"

"Well obviously, the bartering and trading system is top notch.  Can't beat that.  Everybody produce their own goods, and whatever you have leftover you trade with somebody else for whatever they have.   Everybody trades their skills and goods with everybody else!   It fosters independence!  It encourages community!   And it's good for the planet to boot!"

"What??!?!?!  NO!!  I say, let's invent fiat money backed by nothing, crank out tons of it and encourage inflation, and hire slave labor in Asia to make millions of tons of material goods that nobody needs, choking the planet in pollution and garbage in the process!!   Kill it!!  KILL ALL OF IT!!!!!!  MMMMWAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!"

"Okay."

I am very familiar with THE LOOK.  wink  I have always made it a rule not to contribute to medical research because IMO, they are severly misguided, and I don't want to be an enabler.   I guess  some would consider me a cold-hearted beaatch too.  Oh well.

First off, cancer research of ANY kind is an industry.   50 "Lee Jeans for Breast Cancer" years from now they'll STILL be "Racing for the cure" and raising money from the naive population through various money making schemes.   Cancer research is a profitable industry that keeps way too many scientists and lab technicians employed, never mind the money that cancer in itself generates for the docs and pharmaceutical corporations and medical institutions with chemotherapy, meds, hopsital visits and stays.

I totally agree with that, and with your entire post above.  So sad but true.

Skin cancer is another thing that has risen dramatically over the years, - especially since they started promoting sunscreen usage.  There was some research that came out that seemed to suggest that it is a chemical in the sunscreens that is to blame.  Combine that with the fear-inducing campaign to warn people about the dangers of the sun, and it makes you wonder how much of the increases are due to those factors alone, and not the ozone problem.

Yeah..............that's along the lines of why I rejected the idea of working in the medical industry.  A psychic guy we knew (who also happened to work in a hospital) suggested that I look into nursing as a possible career.  I thought that was interesting, and asked him why he thought I should persue that.  "Because you'd be good at it," he smiled.   Maybe so, but I was immediately torn by the ethics of it all.  I can't willingly work for such a corrupt industry.  Shoddy health care, the misdiagnosis of patients, doctor negligence, the over medication of the population supporting the pharmaceutical corporations.......chemotherapy.........circumcision, unnecessary caesarian sections to generate extra $$$, the complete lack of belief / support of the idea of "mind over body" and how a positive attitude and diet change can turn a person around 180 degrees within a week....sometimes days.  And on and on and on.  I have so many stories from either my own personal experience or people I know who took health matters into their own hands, deliberately defying doctor's orders, deliberately ignoring the advise to "go home and die", and who turned themselves around.  I like the idea of learning medical skills, that appeals to me, and as a kid I was fascinated with surgery.   But now as an adult I know better about the medical establishment, and I just can't do it, for ethical reasons.  They don't know what they're doing half the time, pure and simple.  I'd say it's worse than witch doctory, but that would be an insult to witch doctors who often know what they're doing and save lives.

Re: Sickness......It's all in your head!

1 trillion dollars has been spent on cancer research in the last 40 years, the result, twice as many people are dying of cancer. So no thanks, don't think I will be contributing to cancer research.

MorningSun 76. Asthma often an allergic disorder.
When we get one in the er, we generally do a chest xray, and sometimes a blood gas. Various techs from respiratory show up and people get a breathing treatment, lasts about an hour. After years of watching this progression, I'd say we see more of it now than ever. Do you get it with exercise, or when the weather gets dry and cold. Talk about it. You might consider one of those air filtration units for your bedroom. so you have a safe haven. Perhaps a humidifier for cold dry nights could be of use. Clean the hell out of your sleeping quarters. Get all the hair and dust out. You just may need a safe place to sleep. Day in,day out exposure could run you down. Some people think asthma is a psychic thing, and it could be. Lyera maybe right about your psychic stance being related to geniuine health. Barefoot Doc always has a trick or two about these things. Take a good look at your soaps, and detergents. See about any plants in your area that you may harbor an allergy for. Pecan trees in Texas take their toll. Cut back a little on the amount of suds you put in the washer. See if you have other side effects besides the breathing thing, dry skin, cracked heels, etc. Does your nose bleed when these things happen. Take a memo on your general health.  Good Luck. ta.

Re: Sickness......It's all in your head!

I've known this in my subconscious for many years, but only recently did I really start to believe it consciously. It seems the only people who fall ill are the ones who are constantly worrying about it. People who worry about a disease simply because it runs in their family seem to attract the illness by always thinking or talking about it. I've also noticed that getting a sickness is like stopping the flow of the Tao. If you interrupt your Tao of good health and give sickness a second thought, or stop to analyze it and think about it, it will more greatly affect you. But if you just trust yourself deep down and just "know" you won't get sick then it will never happen.

Something like this happened to me just this morning. Woke up for work and had a (very) runny nose, like a cold coming on. I thought it was kind of odd, because I haven't been sick in years. Got to work and I kept thinking about it, and it just got worse. Eventually I got so busy that I just forgot about it. At the end of the work day I thought about it and realized the cold symptoms went away as soon as I forgot about it. So I think our thoughts definitely affect the onset of illness. People who think they're "supposed to" get sick, just because someone else is, usually do.

Re: Sickness......It's all in your head!

It is all true, i found that out while i were in vipassana course - all the physical is a consequence of the spiritual/mental.
And from the biological point of view, all diseases, varied from skin distortion to heart condition, from immune system functions to the libido, it all depends on the "heart-brain" system that is considered to be the main hormonal system in the body that of course depends on the mental condition/balance.
So naturally all diseases are made and cures from within.
