When I tell people I'm nearly 30 they're always "what? no way, you don't look anywhere near 30!"
Anyway, it's all good. It's never bothered me how old I look or how old I actually am. It amazes me how many people I know that are dreading turning 30. I'm quite looking forward to it for some reason.

Some days I wish I did look more my age because I think I look like I'm still halfway through puberty... !!
First off....I love that, "Bloody hell!"
I just love British speak, it's awesome! But yeah, I get the same thing, all the time. It just got REALLY bad back in Florida. When I was working at the yacht brokerage place, a guy came in and I stood up to greet him at the receptionist window, and he couldn't help himself, just blurted out, "Wow! How old ARE you?? You look like somebody's 12 year old daughter that they brought to work with them!"
I just glared at him. He began profusely apologizing, and anytime I'd see him afterwards he would always apologize. "Oh, you must hate me, I'm sure! I'm sorry!!!!"
At a temp job in Florida, I was being shown around and trained by this one woman who was in her 40's, and I began to notice that she was talking sloooowwww and LOOOUUUD to me, like I was retarded. I frowned as I listened to her, thinking, "WTF?" But I didn't say anything right away. I saw that she didn't speak that way to others, but would switch to that slooooowwww and LOOOUUUD voice when talking with me. Finally, I realized what was going on, and found a way to work it into the conversation that "You know.......I'm ***29****. Yup!"
She just stopped and got bug eyed! Said, "Oh my god....I'm sorry! I thought you were about 19 years old!" Then she started laughing hysterically. After that she spoke normally to me, like an adult.
But even if I was 19 that's no excuse for talking slooooowww and LOOOOOUUD. 19 year olds are in the military, 19 year olds are married with kids. 19 year olds are in college. 19 year olds are managers at companies. But I digress. God, what an idiot though. (her, not me.) How aggravating! This went on all the time, and I have too many stories to count.
