Re: What do you guys drink?
montalk, I hate to admit it outloud, but I have a horrible time with self control when it comes to some unhealthful drink and foods like coffee, sweets, and dairy
Me too. Don't feel bad. It's HARD to just quit that stuff. I've been eating dairy and sugar my entire life, and to just try and up and quit at age 30 seems so impossible to me. I've attempted to do it. But I was not successful. At best I managed to improve my diet in a major way over these past 2 weeks, but as far as going completely sugar and dairy free....no.
But I'm going to keep trying.
lyra, I'm going out to the grocery store later and I'm going to get the White Tea with Pear... boy-oh-boy, that sounds so yummy! Especially with the notation of it tasting buttery! I love that!
You'll dig it then. It's like this buttery, sort of kind of almost vanilla type flavor....? Hard to describe. But it adds SUCH a tasty flavor to tea combinations. I don't know how pear wound up tasting like that, but it's good! I'd recommend trying the blueberry fruity iced tea too since you mentioned liking iced tea and being Southern. I know when I was drinking that tea I kept thinking of how southern it is, and even more so if it were iced! (but only if you like blueberries...if you don't, then never mind.
)
And thanks for relaying about the ginger tea and nausea... this will come in handy when the skewed magnetic grid gets my head all wavy-gravy like it does and I feel those pukey symptoms of vertigo/motion sickness. In fact, I'll be buying that today also, I'll never know when I may need it until it's too late.
It's amazing..........I've never had to take Dramamine, but I'd be willing to bet ginger is BETTER than that. In fact I read in a health book that it was more effective than any of those pharmaceutical meds in regards to eliminating nausea and motion sickness, and it's totally safe for pregnant women. ! (not that your pregnant, but I still should mention this.) When I read that I kept thinking what a shame....all those pregnant women out there suffering all the time from morning sickness, and they can't take the meds.....but the answer is right there in the form of natural ginger. They could sprinkle it on their food, or drink it in a tea. Eat it in pickled form, like what you get with sushi.
Whatever works! The tea is probably your best bet, it's the most potent direct way to get it. I used it once after I made the mistake of spinning around and around and around and around in our new office swivel chair that we bought for our desk. It seemed like a good idea at the time.
Afterwards....ugh. I tried just sitting still and ignoring it but the nausea and headache just got worse. So I resorted to ginger tea, and it worked, very quickly! Within 5 minutes of sipping it was completely gone. So I'm a big fan of ginger now too.
