Broward County, FL births = C-section. I think maybe C-sections equate to more $$$ in hospitals' pockets in many instances. I believe that was the angle that "New Times" was going for in their expose about Broward General. I also read that C-sections are HUGELY popular down in Brazil, and MOST women are apparantly getting them now, whether they need them or not......for vanity reasons. They don't want to go through the trouble, pain and after affects of a vaginal birth. But I do wonder what the other conspiracy possibilities are. Anybody have any ideas?
Your last example showed that there are people who are just so superficially focused that they would not even be interested in this. C-section easier? Do it, do it! The women who are frightened into having them at the last minute are in a very vulnerable position--as you say, they trust the doctors and to them it seems only right to follow their advice. But people have to take responsibility for their own decisions. A woman who is going to give birth certainly has the responsibility to
get informed about all the options and their repercussions. My own son's birth was very difficult, but the question of a C section never came up, and I never would have consented to it.
Bottom line, we are only going to be subject to conspiracies as long as we are not
in charge of our own lives.
