Topic: Wherever I May Roam....

Last Sunday we set out on the long and arduous traffic ridden journey to St. Pete to pick up some kites that got fixed... and a new kite, roll... just how many kites does one man need anyway? lol

So I'm driving down the road and I think, 'I'd like to hear some Motley Crew and Metallica please'.

Five minutes later the Crew came on, but it wasn't the song I wanted to hear, I wanted to hear "Kick Start My Heart"... and I got "Girls, Girls, Girls" hmm

I realized that if one is going to make a request in such a beaming fashion then one best be particular. So outloud I said, "I want to hear Metallica's "Where Ever I May Roam", and I let go of it. I then a few moments later thought better to add, "And not while we're in Kitesville."

Okay, so we're in the kite store for an hour, we go out to the truck, I fire it up... and wouldn't ya know it? The first note of "Wherever I May Roam" sounded, lol and it played on.

My man-critter looked at me, I looked at him... we just laughed.

Heeheehee... one time in '98, right after I was initiated into my Usui Reiki mastership, we went to St. Augustine for a mini-vaca. We had just turned onto the FL east coast coastal hwy and I "heard", "Tell him to tell you when 10 miles is up". So I did. And do you know that when 10 miles was EXACTLY up there was a big billboard that read, "STOP! Look here!" with a big arrow pointing down a beach access street. And of course we went. There was a lovely deserted beach there.

Now, what makes this even more interesting is that the weekend before I had been to a session with a Medicine Woman wherein she told me that something big was going to happen for me soon. I told her about taking my Reiki Master's level, but she said it was something way bigger than that, but that that was part of it. She told me she was intuiting that I would be able to see Atlantis as it still exists in a different realm.

So we're standing on this beach and I'm looking out over the Atlantic, skewing my eyesight and trying to see Atlantis... but I didn't. All I saw were the fossil essences like I described on another page around here somewhere.

That night in the hotel room I had this astral/dream experience wherein I found myself standing on that very same beach, and that's when one of my other-dimensional selves integrated with me... the Atlantean.

Too bad there isn't an emoticon available that looks like M. Caulkin in "Home Alone" where his eyes are big and his hands are on his face... smile I'd put it here. That was the first time for me being able to remember an integration.

cool , huh?

I'm tellin' ya... life's a pretty trippy gig.

Re: Wherever I May Roam....

Yeah, life's pretty trippy! That's what I said when at my neighbor/friend's birthday party. He turned thirty(?) and he asked me how my thirties have been and all I could say was,"Trippy!"

Two weeks ago Palulukon and I watched a movie on the life of Bobby Darin with Kevin Spacey. The next day I was to go to the Flea Market where we have a booth to raise money for our critter sanctuary and I thought I would like to hear some Frank Sinatra while I was working the booth. I found an interest in that style after I watched the movie as it felt soothing. I've been into jazz for a long time anyway. Well, I figured I'd request it being that my main man is the owner/d.j. I didn't have to, he was playing Sinatra when I got there! Yowza!

Re: Wherever I May Roam....

Auendove, you would definitely dig a CD I burned for myself which I called "Hair bands, glam bands and power ballads!"   big_smile  The first song kicking off the disk is "Kickstart My Heart."  cool  hehe

Other bands n stuff to be found on the disk...

(no laughing, people.........I know most of you were around in the 80's...........you can't pretend you didn't listen to this music!!!!)

Slaughter, Ratt, Skid Row, Great White, Def Leppard, Steelheart, Warrant, Cinderella, Whitesnake, and, a few others.

Best rest assured, Poison is nowhere to be found on it, thank you!  big_smile

Sometimes one just gets in the mood to listen to this type of music, what can I say!   Good stuff in its own strange way.

Re: Wherever I May Roam....

Oh, oh, oh.... I just love-love Whitesnake. The pool hall where I go to play pool has a bunch of Whitesnake on the jukebox..... and I load it up wink .  Bummer though, I haven't been to play pool for over a year now sad .

I do believe I need my pool stick and a Whitesnake fix.

lol lol lol

And Cinderella? Totally glam... I had their cassette. Ha! I think I've still got it around here somewhere. Loved 'em.

Poison? Now see, I really, really like the song "Unskinny Bop"... haven't heard that one for YEARS!

What about Bullet Boys "Smooth Opinion"? Remember that one? Totally tripped my trigger... way back when... heavy sigh.

Oh well... as time marched on us rockers got Alice in Chains, and wasn't that just a great turn of events?

Re: Wherever I May Roam....

The Whitesnake song I have on my CD is called "Slow and Easy."  Good song.  I found that I really dug Great White......but not really their one big radio hit which was "Once Bitten, Twice Shy."  I prefer their other stuff,  because it's heavy on the blues influence, with the harmonica and bass and all that, and the song I have on my CD is "Rock Me."

Let's see, for Cinderella I have "Gypsy Road" and "Nobody's Fool."  cool

Steelheart is a funny situation - this one was brought to my attention recently, and at first I was like, "Um, no, I don't remember them. Never heard of them..."   But then something stirred in the back of my noggin, and I was like, Well, wait a minute.....I think it does sort of ring a bell...... so we downloaded "I'll Never Let You Go", and the second I heard the opening guitar chords it was like flashback, 15 years ago, 10th grade in Connecticut.  And I remembered most all of the words!!!!!!!!!  It was a huge radio hit back then, but compared to how many times I've heard other songs, I didn't hear it that much, and yet, I still remembered it like it was yesterday.  Weird how the mind works!

For Alice in Chains, my all time favorite song is "Down in a Hole."

Have you ever heard of Pirate Radio?   In Connecticut I listened to WAAF out of Boston and every Sunday night at 7 they had the Pirate Radio show which would cut in from Los Angeles.  I dug listening to that, then, the following year (1991) we moved to SoCal, and after we settle into our new place there in Orange County I turn on the radio and lo and behold.......................................there was Pirate Radio.  The radio station!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   Now I had Pirate Radio, 24 hours a day!  big_smile I was like "HOLY S***!  COOL!"   haha

It's so infamous they now have tribute sites for it:

The Pirate playlist, if you're looking to go down memory lane, although it's not entirely accurate, but that's okay:

I'm way over in Texas, A.  If you're ever coming this way, give me a holler!

Re: Wherever I May Roam....

Soloflecks,

Texas, huh? Huhn.... you're one of three active posters in TX, well at least that I know of.

So are you a ZZTop fan? Ever been to one of their rock shows?

When I lived in San Fran some of the road crew came into the restaurant where I worked. They pulled into the parking lot in one of the semis that carries the band equipment. My girlfriend and I were looking out the window and saw written on the side of the semi "Recycler"... we then looked at each other saying "No way" because we had been to the Cow Palace the night before to see the show... the Recycler tour.

Those boys came in and ate, and ate, and ate.... big_smile , and then damn near bought us out of what I had prepped for the dinner rush to take back to the band and other crew members. They took all of my Apple/Macadamia Nut pie wink . And not only that, they offered to have my friend and I backstage to watch the show on any of the remaining four nights the band was in town!!!!

We had a blast!

ZZTop was awesome, as always they are in concert, but I'll never forget sitting on the side of the stage on some equipment crates and watching Jeff Healey (opening act) wailing on his guitar and singing the blues... I thought I had died and gone to heaven smile .

I'll tell ya, those boys were just as polite and respectful as can be... they never once tried anything funny cool .

And yeah, if I make it to TX you'll here me hollerin' from 500 miles away, "Rack 'em up Solo... I'm on my way!"

Snicker! Snort! LOL!

I worked for a real estate agency in SoCal for 6 months, and one of the agents was a girl from a ZZ top video.  She had a framed pic of herself and the boys from the video shoot in her office.  Now she's married to a baseball player and sells million dollar homes in Coto de Caza.  smile
