Hey Ferit, on the off chance that it may be so, will you be in NY city within the first couple of weeks of next month, in May? You've mentioned a few times in the past that you've traveled there... just thought I'd ask because I think I'm supposed to be traveling that way in May.

If it ended up that the great big off chance that you would be in NY at that time became true, and I didn't know you were in the same city... well, I'd just be terribly bummed for at least not trying to meet up with you for lunch or something.

Hi A'dove,

No, unfortunately not this time.

I'll be at Geneva and probably Barcelona/Madrid in first two weeks of May. I'm still waiting for a NR Europe meeting smile

Thanks Auendove!  Synchronicity at work here!!!  I discovered this link about a week ago on Estes' site.  It made me cry when I read it, it spoke so deeply to my heart.

At the time, I had been struggling with self doubt (my personal achilles heel) and this came at just the right time.  It feels good to know there are people like her on the planet who can inspire us when we need it.

That's another reason I love Noble Realms.  There are so many wise (if quirky big_smile ) souls on here - and so much that is said is inspiring, or inflaming, to the soul and spurs one on.

Here's a quote from p143 of Women Who Run with Wolves (which I have written in my journal that is sitting on my desk at the moment):

Three things differentiate living from the Soul versus living from the ego only:

.  The ability to sense and learn new ways,
.  The tenacity to ride a rough road, and
.  the patience to learn deep love over time.

Well, mine's pretty boring. First, my desk is a STEEL desk that somebody at an antique shop didn't want . . . or didn't want enough to keep inside, away from the elements. I found it in back of a store. Near a dumpster. Sort of.  . . . ARRIGHT! I STOLE the dang thing! OKAY?! big_smile . . . anyway, I got my 'puter, monitor, speakers and subwoofer. Lamp and CD archive next to the monitor and my phone on top of the tower and my PC game controller on the speaker box. And last but not least, my small collection of five orgone molds on top of my monitor. The big one is the shape of a regular size oil funnel with about a four inch double terminated copper-wound quartz and four other smaller double terminated quartz's in the bottom. Two are mini-me's made of just the tip of the funnel. One is from a deodorant cap mold, so it's a perfect oval flat on one side and rounded on the other. And the really unique one is from the mold of some kitchen accessory piece - a small round concave-curved cone.

Re: What's on your computer desk?

Well, if a computer desk is any reflection, so be it.....

Anyway, mine is a bit neglected right now. I have an 18" by 36" desktop. Cluttered! For some reason I have a binocular case with nothing in it, a floppy disk drive, various papers in a basket, two speakers almost never on, a hanky I had worn on my head, some recipes cards, a set of headphones, an extension cord, spare bulbs for the ol' desk lamp, a candle for those special moments, a small parakeet water bottle, a few pens and pencils, a small stuffed animal, an ash tray, and for the moment a tea cup, and lastly on my moniter a big, toy stuffed basset to keep miss kitty off the top. Word to the wise, leaky kitty make for unhappy moniter! Oh, and in the side cubby is some bank statements in folders, a totem animal tarot card book, and me trusty PC at the bottom.

Nothing special, but it's mine.

thook, is there a totem card for the octopus in your book, and if there is what does it have to say about the octopus?

Also, I've not really ever looked over a animal tarot card deck, do they correspond to a standard tarot deck in any way... and if they do and there is an octopus card, then which standard tarot card would the octopus card correspond to?

Though I'm sure it wasn't funny at the time I LMAO when I read this--

Re: What's on your computer desk?

My desk is this cheap plastic thing i got at office depot, but it's kinda cool because it has a main desk, and then two 'upper' shelves that are pretty helpful....

main desk: laptop, stereo speakers, mug that holds my change, a box from tibet that my first love got for me, a picture of my sisters

second shelf: pens, pencils, scissors, eraser (all the stationary stuff I guess)

third shelf: a simpsons toy (lionel hutz), a bronze Rebel Alliance pin, a picture of Ganesh, and loads of post-it notes (whenever I get some crazy thoughts I'll write them down and put them somewhere), and a little stone that says "om mane padme hum" on it.

Re: What's on your computer desk?

Heeey! Wha' happened? There was just a post by thook there.... hmmmm... have I finally gone around the bend? lol

Anyway, thanks for checking out about the octopus. I reviewed some other info about the octopus as a spirit guide and one of the constant notations about it's appearance was that it facilitates the breaking down of negative barriers. Interestingly enough given that information, the octopus was the animal spirit energy that facilitated the integration of my shadow self. I didn't know about the breaking down of neg barriers gig until a couple of weeks ago... light bulb moment there for sure.

The only other time I've ever seen an octopus was many, many years ago when I would daydream about having a restaurant. In my daydream I would find a HUGE saltwater fish tank with a octopus in it. And you know I'd think 'Now who is really going to want to eat dinner with an octopus staring at them?'.

Even though your post has chow-chowed thanks for taking the time and sharing thook.

My totem tarot book is native american, entitled medicine cards. Each medicine cards has two sides of the coin, as in standard tarot. Just uses Native American totem animals and there symbolic meanings. I have found it to be useful at times when my intuition is low on the symbols in my enviroment and dreams. No octopus in there. Sorry! Octopus have shown up in my life a few times, though, 'reaching in all directions'.

The first time it happened, we had to buy another one. No, it wasn't funny then. The second time told the manufacturer "it just went out!".  Wasn't funny then, either. I can laugh now, though. However, the second one was under warranty. So, they sent another one. Could have banned miss Monabea (her name) from the loft (our bedroom is the loft in a renovated barn), but she keeps the mice down. So, we accommodate for her idiosyncrasies try to keep a fresh box for her.

As well I got a chuckle out of this--

Must have tangled with a figurine racoon. We've been dealing with a racoon getting into our duck/goose/chicken/turkey yard. The tell tale sign of a 'coon is the head is missing from the bird. :0

Yeah, jus' fun! And yes, I am familiar with Portishead.

It is cool to get some idea of the folks on NR. I was just thinking last night what a gift this site is. There maybe others of this nature, so they are gifts, too. Just think, though, there has never been an opportunity of this nature before where people from all over can communicate so openly about the things of this nature (from mysticism to deskicism) and in this way considering the time and circumstances. I am grateful! Catharticism at it's finest. So, cheers to you all my friends and family! I will drink one for those who do not drink. I made the brew, therefore......glug, glug! smile

Re: What's on your computer desk?

Sorry all! Tried to figure out what I was doing wrong with the quote thing so the post would be understandable, but couldn't. So, it's back with the editing I could figure out. Hope you all can forgive the confusion.

You are welcome Aeundove!

When I was at Memphis State Univ. I drew a huge 8' x 4' pastel of an octo' with the tentacles morphing into breasts. I was high on psychy-d's, so something from the subconscious I didn't have a clue about then. Now, I can see it may have had more meaning than I realized, not just a hippie drawing. Could we talk about your experience with the octo' and negative barriers more? 'Nother thread? I am quite interested.
