Re: Zodiac Signs:

BB and others possibly interested in astrology,

Not long ago I was given a book "Astrology for the Soul" by Jan Spiller.  It deals exclusively with the north nodes (of the moon).  It is astounding.  The north node points to the lessons one needs to learn this lifetime and this book talks about what ones other lives probably were...that lead to where the person is now.

Obviously, it should be read with (yup, you got it) discernment but it's very good.

For example, BB has north node in Gemini.

Jan Spiller says "the tendencies to leave behind" for north node Gemini are: -

1)  needing to be right
2)  careless spontaneity
3)  taking oneself too seriousy; having a ponderous approach to life
4)  acting on intuition without checking the facts
5)  resisting ideas which are foreign to ones belief system

Hmmm...not bad, she goes on further to say "The Achilles' heel Gemini North Node people need to be aware of is self-righteousness ("If other people would just acknowledge that I am right and appreciate me for it, I would feel understood and accepted")

Not to "pick" on BB, here's what she has to say about Taurus North Node (me) and the tendencies to leave behind:

1)  overconcern with other people's business
2)  impatience
3)  inappropriate tendencies
4)  judgmental tendencies
5)  obsessive-compulsive tendencies

In any case, it's a terrific book and rather than an "ego" stroking kind of astrology book, it has helped me to look at my shortcomings so that I can work on transmuting them.

Warm regards,
Christine

Re: Zodiac Signs:

Really interesting.

Yes, those do seem like common traits I find myself needing to overcome.

Not to say I do not overpower those weaknessess but that they are a common form of attack.

I consider it a blessing to actually live in a time where your faults *cough* lessons can be listed right before your eyes.

Re: Zodiac Signs:

Christine,

I'll definitely get this book whenever I can, but in the meanwhile, would you mind telling me what the lessons are for someone with a north node in leo? big_smile It wouldn't surprise me if it had something to do with self-confidence, hehe...

Re: Zodiac Signs:

There is a chapter for each one of the 12 north nodes.  And each chapter is about 30 pages.

The "tendencies to leave behind" is but one small part, but it was easiest to post.

(just to clarify).

Ermolai - here are the "tendencies to leave behind" for Leo North Node:

1)  Yielding to peer pressure in order to "belong"
2)  Debatching from emotional situations
3)  Aloofness
4)  Waiting for others to prompt one's own action
5)  "Overlooking" what is really going on
6)  Waiting for more "knowledge" before taking action
7)  Excessive daydreaming
8)  Running away from confrontations

"The achilles heel they need to be aware of it the overriding need to feel the acceptance of peers...
the trap they need to avoid is an unending search for knowledge ("If I have enough knowledge, I will feel confident to take creative action")...The bottom line is that at some point they must take the risk and start creating their own happiness.  The irony is that once they take action and begin creating happiness, the knowledge they need to succeed will come to them effortlessly."

Warm regards,
Christine B.

Re: Zodiac Signs:

Ermolai,

I didn't include the "attributes to develop" but I thought you might like to see a few of them:  (so as not to create an "imbalance" smile )

1) Willingness to take "center stage"
2) Self-confidence
3) Enjoying life - having fun
4) Developing an "it's up to me" attitude

Re: Zodiac Signs:

Wow, this seems to describe my whole life, never thought some of these issues were related. It's funny, I was wondering lately if ReclaimYourMind/Soul was not too difficult a project for someone like me, but I now see this is exactly what I need to develop qualities that I lack and restore balance. Difficult, but at least I'm moving in the right direction. Thanks! smile

Re: Zodiac Signs:

Just a side note:  When I was given this book, I was amazed how well it describes me.  But, I thought, perhaps I'm just projecting.  Then, I gave it to a new friend and he found it described him perfectly.  But, since I didn't know him well...I thought...hmmm, maybe he is also projecting.

So, I decided to read about my ex - who I know very well.  I hit the floor - it was exactly like him. I even called him at 1AM to tell him about it and read his tendencies etc.

OF COURSE, he brushed it off.  Exactly, what the book says!! smile

It's worth getting.  Try powells.com for good used books.

Re: Zodiac Signs:

Hi Christine,

Since you're into astrology you've probably heard of the whole "Saturn Return" thing, right?   I wasn't familiar with it til a former coworker / buddy of mine told me about it.   He was excited for me when he learned I was 28 (at the time) and hitting my "Saturn Return" phase in life.   I've since learned more about it, and even flipped through some book devoted to it, written for women who are hitting their Saturn Return.

Basically, for those out there who are in the dark like I was about this, it has to do with which constellation Saturn was in at the time you were born.   Saturn has an orbital period of 28 years, so, when a person hits age 28, Saturn is back in the position it was when you were born, taking 28 years to get to that point.   With that return comes the issues that go along with the placement of that particular constellation.    For me, Saturn was in Cancer, wich relates to home and family.   So when I was flipping through that book about it, (with much skepticism at first, and an eye rolling amused manner)  I was soon stunned to see a pretty accurate description of my personal situation.   For women who were born with Saturn in Cancer, they'll be facing issues relating to home, family, and their mother at the time when they hit their Saturn Return, and issues with their mother is a dominating theme throughout their life............more specifically, they usually don't get along with their mothers AT all, and even have cut them out of their life in many cases because the situation is just THAT bad.

I read that and my eyes popped out of my head!   That's my situation, to a T.  And as I hit 30, the issue has seemed to pop up again out of nowhere.  I had been wondering in fact about the re-emergence of the Mom isuse, wondering "Why now?!?!?!!!"  then I saw that book, which outlined the whole thing!   Also, the Saturn in Cancer thing very well could explain why family has been such a major, major issue and theme in my life.   My family is scattered like the wind, and it's just been me, myself and I for years and years.

So yes, I was shocked to say the least!   I used to be skeptical of astrology, but you know, now I wonder................!

Re: Zodiac Signs:

Found some more info about the upcoming lunar eclipse in Scorpio and how it relates specifically to Scorpions.  Thought I should move this over to fun and humor rather than keep straight astrology stuff on Montalk's Moon Cycle Research thread:

It's from this site ... www.astrobarry.com/horoscopes.htm -- (another really good site for weekly horoscopes)

Found this bit about Scorpio and the lunar eclipse tomorrow in Scorpio:

" Let me offer a super-simple interpretation of what to do when a full-moon lunar eclipse falls in your sign, as this Sunday's does for you, Scorpio–it's time to take a good hard look at yourself and, for your own best sake, be honest. You don't have to tell anyone what you see, but it's of immense importance that you know as much about where you are right now as possible. Examine your physical and mental health, your professional standing, your family connections, your friendships, your romantic situation, your sense of fun, your relation to spirit… look in the mirror, and don't judge, just observe. It's time to do away with any illusions you're someone other than you are. You're accomplished in one area and f*cked up in another, a wise master in certain subjects and a young soul in others. You cannot hope to take better care of yourself (and we all have room for improvement) until you know who you are. You can't foster the gifts of a child if you don't spend some time getting acquainted with her, any more than you can heal the sick without a proper diagnosis. Look square in your eyes. Don't look away. Look."

Re: Zodiac Signs:

Well, you'll definitely be marching to the beat of your own drum Tom!  No conformity for you boyo!

I'm: Sun/Leo, Asc/Virgo, Moon/Libra, Mars/Taurus, Mercury/Cancer, Venus/Leo.  Born the year of the RAT!!

Sun conjunct Venus and Venus conjunct Uranus in the 12th house.  That dampens my sunny spirit I can tell you.  But I'm learning not to allow self doubt stop me from doing what I came here for. (Whatever that was! lol)

Oh yes, Part of Fortune in Scorpio (thank God I've got Scorpio something - I was feeling really out of it I can tell you LOL lol)

North Node in Virgo in the 1st house.

Well, there you are.  Anyone like to tell me more about myself wink - I'm always open to a bit more understanding - Little Leo in the 12th house can't always see herself clearly (especially with Sun square Saturn sad).

Here's a little astro joke you might like:

What would he do if he found you with another man? (possibly looking at Mars in signs here)

The Arien would shoot the other man
The Taureen would pretend he hadn't seen, and wait for it to blow over
The Gemini would suggest a game of three handed poker
The Cancerian would shoot himself
The Leo would demand to know what on earth you saw in the fellow
The Virgoan would shoot you
The Libran would try to see your point of view
The Scorpio would shoot you both
The Sagittarian would fetch his gun, but you could talk him out of it
The Capricorn would go straight to his mistress
The Aquarian would make it a threesome
The Piscean wouldn't notice; he would be too busy composing a song or a poem.

Love ya all ... Cipher big_smile
