Ha....just found these notes I jotted down a long time ago when I was watching the Terry Gilliam British movie "Brazil." (really great movie, btw, highly recommend people see it if you haven't already. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088846/ ) But in the background throughout the movie are these funny signs and posters which have proven to be very prophetic. The movie came out in 1985, a full 20 years ago this year in fact, and I just wonder.....how did Terry Gilliam know? He and George Orwell....trying to warn everybody, years in advance....

There was of course the "Ministry of Information", terrorist bombings galore done by "the ruthless minority", arrests without warrants or valid reasons - just burst into your home and arrest you while throwing a hood over your head. VERY remniscant of Abu Gharib / Afghanistan / Iraq, etc.
And a quote from the hero, Harry Tuttle, played by Robert DeNiro, "Now they've go the whole country sectioned off. Can't make a move without a form." (in reference to the beaurocracy - need forms to do anything and everything.)
But there might still be hope for us all though. A statue in the background of one scene had the engraving "And The Truth Shall Make You Free."
