Topic: New Videogame--Holy Smoley!

I just saw a commercial for a new videogame for the Playstation 2 and X-Box systems called: "Destroy All Humans!"

In the game, you play alien invaders (little green Grays with yellow, bulging eyes) who, well, invade planet Earth and begin demolition.

There were screen shots of little aliens electrocuting men on the street and leviating cattle and electrocuting them with their psychic abilities.

The graphics were simplistic and cartoonish--it seemed they were appealing to young kids and teens.

Huh...

You can't change a tiger's stripes,
but you can avoid its teeth.

Re: New Videogame--Holy Smoley!

I think they're trying to make abductions and aliens in general become something desirable. Because now kids get to 'be' the alien who runs amok destroying humans and whatnot. It is now 'cool' to be an alien and do all the things they do.

The cable 'Sci-Fi' channel attempts this same reversal. With 'Taken', abduction was portrayed more accruately in that is was undesirable, but in 'The 4400', being abducted is actually desirable because they all came out with all these special powers and return to earth as an 'elite' class within the society. So now kids see this and say, "wow, I wanna be abducted!"

I am as is Void.
