As a rule, are 17-year-old boys introspective?

Heh heh... not being male, I really can't say. Most men I've spoken with once they're older say they actually were at that age, but didn't really know what to do about all they pondered within. In fact they were more introspective at that age than later, but again no clue what to do with it.

We're not in usual times, either, and so perhaps males and females alike of that age are being pressed to be introspective, even if it's not their tendency. In fact, from the sound of what was happening prior to the fiasco, he was being pressed, in a sense, to be introspective. Kind of sad that his first real attempt resulted in such a mess. But again, I see that it can easily be a teaching event for him, and even prompt him to go deeper within as a result, and perhaps come up with insights and resolutions previous generations did not. If, of course, he chooses to rise to the occasion.

Thanks!

Very interesting. My son has been "diagnosed" as not very introspective. But he know himself well, is observant, has well thought out and insightful views on anything from religion and politics to personal relationships. These didn't come from not pondering the possibilities. So I wondered where that diagnosis came from. When under pressure to respond, he doesn't do so very introspectively. "I dunno" or "Whatever." The pressure of being in a psychologist's office for a threat assessment played into his willingness to open up, I'm sure.

He's definitely ahead of previous generations, including the one just before him. hehehe. He has "Indigo" traits as I've seen listed though I have not labeled him as such. The would breach his sovereignty of just BEing without being categorized. He has new genetics though. He is healing himself quite well and seems to be stepping up in this kick-off to adulthood. Time will tell where he goes.

Thanks for letting me go through these details here. It continues to help me gain clarity.

Peace,
