Topic: A question for lyra or any other

Hello to all,

Please allow me to introduce myself. I am Graddock. I serve in the U.S. ARMY so first off please do not assume that I have alterior motives for coming to this site or posting here. I will admit that I am quite the skeptic among you but I do have an open mind about myself. I will not simply discard anyones theories though I may come off as if I were trying to discredit. If that is what you may think of my posts then please forgive me. **I do have one request and that is that you or the moderators please do not ban me from posting, etc, etc. I am not here to flame anyone :-). **

Now my question, Specifically to Lyra. On March 25th of this year you replied to a post where you spoke of a solar type event in August of 1972. This event was nothing more than a significant solar flare event or one of that nature and by no means one that you described. At least of the "friend who had a family member" as you put it or thereabouts. Why give credit to someones account when no one else had a similar account.   
I mean if one person saw two suns I would imagine that many, many more accounts of the event would be known. It simply sounds as if that person and that person alone was the only one to see it.

You as well as any other may reply here or to my e-mail addy. I do not wish to offend.So I would hate to see someone post something along the lines of "narrow minded a**hole" or "ignorant" come up. Thats just childish and a poster of that nature needs to check what grade they are in. If you want to help me believe some of this stuff then help now. I prefer at least 40% factual basis if I am going to really get off the ground.

I know this probably means nothing but one of my favorite books while growing up was called "Chariots of the Gods." That is if I am not mistaken.

-First off, I didn't write that point on March 25th of this year.  It was written November 18, 2004.   Here's the link:

It says however that I registerd "March 25............2004.   Last year.  So that may be what you're referring to.


-  When I wrote "friend who had a family member" the person I was referring to was Tom / Montalk.  It was his mom, when she lived in Singapore.  At the time I was trying not to unwittingly mention someone  who didn't ask to be mentioned, but since you brought it up, I figured I'd clarify.  Anyway at this point I don't think either of them mind me mentioning it, since his mom has joined the forum (singsuilei), talked about her alien experiences, and even mentioned "her son Tom".  smile   But yes, that's who that was.

-  I mentioned it because it was in context of what was being said in the Sirius / Serious? thread.  It's an anecdote.  The reader can do with it what they will.

Uh.....who's to say that other people didn't see it?    Just because you have never heard anybody talk about it, doesn't mean others didn't experience it too.   For all we know, a hundred - a thousand - 10,000 - other people saw this but never mentioned it, or are scattered about the world, so you will never get to meet them and hear their story.   As it is, singsuelei was in Singpore when she witnessed this, and were it not for Tom, later being connected to me, we'd never know about her experience.    So that's some food for thought.    So I think your comment is bad logic.   You have to realize that many people have stories of things they've seen or experienced, but which they never talk about.  Why?   Maybe because they're afraid of what people will say.  Maybe because they feel they imagined the whole thing.  Maybe because the time is never right to bring it up.  Maybe because they don't have a venue to give mass access to their story, such as a messageboard.    There's a million reasons why the everyday people around you don't mention the anomalous things they've experienced in life.   Do you think the people around me who I work with and encounter on a day to day basis know about the things that have happened to me, which I talk about at NR?   wink   Hell no.   They know nothing.  To them, I'm just another female, at work, at the store, in my car, at the gas station, walking down the street. I look normal, I act average, I blend in.  Nobody has a clue.

I didn't describe it, I just relayed it, but, that's a technicality.  wink   I find this comment though to be a little suspicious.    Somebody from the Army shows up on the NR forum to go out of their way to discredit one small anecdotal comment buried amongst almost 16,000 other posts.......?   Claiming that they definitively *know* that this event was *nothing more than* just a solar flare.    Huh.   !   Interesting.   We'll let that speak for itself!



And on a sidenote, I have to question why yet another newbie has shown up at NR and zeroed in on me, out of all the posters here, out of all the threads and posts saying unusual and interesting things...... It's a little weird, I have to say.

Hey There,

Many Thanks for your reply as it does clarify some things abit. I did confuse your registry date and the posting date, may apologies for the error. Otherwise, that’s really all I wanted to hear. I mean, everything in your reply was sound and that’s pretty much what I was looking for.

    Now I know that may not make too much sense but please understand, in my group of friends I am considered to be a little out there sometimes. By that I mean I usually work 12 hour shifts and during a dull moment I go to www.fark.com which is where I eventually found this site. So once I got interested I just decided to drop right on in. Feel free to think its odd but the US ARMY is nothing more than our fighting force, at least that’s what I do. I am no weird little covert cell or anything or why would I even say that I was in the ARMY. If I knew it would draw a lot of interest why say it.

Either way I appreciate the response, and like I said I am interested just skeptical.

Feel free to reply as I will continue to watch this for awhile.

Thanks for joining the forum.

In regards to your post, this is a whacky subject and not something worth arguing over, nor something I'm willing to defend. Nevertheless, here's what I can add:

Of course there was a solar flare around that time. That's the whole point, that I wouldn't have thought much of the anomalous experience had it not coincided with another confirmed anomaly during the same time period. Also, not sure how much you know about solar phenomena, but solar flares aren't exactly easy things to see. And a flare certainly doesn't look like a large orange sphere in the sky.

I'm no believer in Drunvalo Melchizedek, but I did find his one article about the 1972 event interesting regarding the idea of the sun going nova back then (first expanding into a large orange ball) but things being holographically/hyperdimensionally patched by the "Sirians" using their super-duper technology, where only the mega solar flare got through before things were corrected.

What was written in the article matches what my mom saw, that is all. So being skeptical myself, I had two farfetched things uncannily correlating with each other...it's one of those things I can only put in the back of my mind. Weirder stuff than this probably happens to us anyway all the time without most people noticing - sorta like in Dark City with things were rearranged every night but no one but very few ever notice (just an analogy).

The experience may have happened, or it may not have happened, what's the big deal?

Belief is entirely the responsibility of each individual. All others can do is provide some pointers, share some info and let the person make up their own minds. Least of all is it up to others to pull the person's weight for them. So if 40% fact is what you ask for, then why not go out and seek the 40%? To believe, one has to first understand. And understanding requires learning. Learning takes time and cannot be done adequately through a forum other than through the sharing of insights and annecdotes, which may or may not be sufficient depending on what background the reader already has in the subject. Time is better spent pursuing research materials that can inform you, so that you can then better decide what to believe or not believe. So, please take a look at the files section (menu above), there's plenty of raw material there.

Please read the first paragraph of my first post. It clearly states that I am not here to discredit anyone not even you. You must have missed that when you wrote your response as you clearly wrote-

Yep, Mustve missed it. Read on... **** I dont recall saying I had "definitive proof" that it was just a solar flare. All you have to do is research the event which I think occured in August 4th 1972 and also in 1989. Its even on the Internet. That is the "Definitive Proof" to which I was referring. Yet you posted this:  "Claiming that they definitively *know* that this event was *nothing more than* just a solar flare." Like I said I have no proof just some old newspapers and whatnots.

Hi Kato3,  While you're waiting for an answer from Graddock, I'd like to make a comment here.  I met Drunvelo when he first started to give out his information.  In fact, I went to the 2nd lecture he ever gave.  The presentation was stunning and produced an awakening in me that is difficult to describe.  I followed Drunvelo's work for about a year, and then moved on, as all of us in who are interested in this sort of thing tend to do.  Nevertheless, I've watched and followed Drunvelo for the past 20 years, and I've watched what has happened.   

In the beginning, he was very innocent and unpolluted.  The sincerity literally exuded out of him.  There was a clear and true desire to give out what he believe was the truth and you could see it in his eyes.  But... like us all... he is human and was taken in by human desires.  He got famous and that brought temptation.  Yes, he fell to human desires, and many of his devotees left the ranks.  Many trials befell him after that.  Conspiracy theories, backstabbers, blah, blah, blah.  But he weathered the storm and is still around, albeit with a smaller group of people and an agenda more aimed at providing him with a living and doing some low-key spiritual work.

He's been picked on by just about everyone, including the Federal Government.  Maybe he's jaded now, I don't know.  But I DO know that one weekend, 20 years ago, I got the best of Drunvelo before he was targeted.  I have a huge journal with lots of notes and they are all manifesting, just as he said they would.  I just joined this forum and I have 20 years of stories to tell.  All in good time.

Enlightenment happens!  Attachment to the ego-self leads one into delusion; but faith in one's Buddha nature leads one to enlightenment.

Dear Kato3,

Yes, I totally understand what you are saying about Drunvelo.  Seven years ago he was probably in the height of his muck and mire.  I would have likely gotten the same vibes you did at that time.  If I've learned one thing in studying all these years, it is to try and focus on the material or the teaching and don't focus on the teacher.  I've met hundreds of very gifted people over the years, many of which I couldn't stand personally.  But quite often, what they taught was valid and did work for me on some level.  A rung on the ladder so to speak.

Going back to Drunvelo, let me relate an experience I once had.  We were taught how to create a merkaba force field around us.  Long boring story that doesn't need relating for this point.   Anyhow, I went home from the workshop and proceeded to practice this technique.  I'd sit and sit and sit.  Nothing.  I'd focus hard, I'd try not to focus, etc. etc. etc.   I tried virtually anything I could think of to try and create this force field and have the effect that was described at the workshop.  I became frustrated that it was so elusive. 

Then one day, I sat on my couch and did the exercise - WITH NO EXPECTATION.  It was almost like I was just "going through the motions".  I reached my state of "null" and relaxed.  I recall feeling a tingling.  My eyes were closed, and then, right in front of my closed eyes appeared a circle of colors.  They were "alive", moving, vibrating.  It was like looking at a hologram inside my head.  It startled me and I opened my eyes...... but it was still there..... hovering right in front of my face.  The colors were vibrant and almost neon.  I thought I could reach out and touch it.  Then - in an instant - each color formed a beam and they all projected to a singular point and then that point shot into my forehead.  Everything turned bright white.   I freaked for an instant and remembered thinking I was going blind.  Then it was over.  I just sat there for a moment, trying to "feel" what to do next.  The top of my head was tingling like goosebumps.  I was never successful in recreating that "hologram" or any other even close.  It was a one time shot.  I never created the merkaba force field either, and eventually lost interest and moved on.

So, I guess my point is, not all angels or gurus or even experiences come to us as we would like. 

I was a "lurker" at Goro's when all the craziness happened on his forum.  Crips what can you say?  I was also a regular poster on OSA when it went down.  Geez that was crazy too.  The host basically said the government was out to get him and he was going to split.  The rumors after that were non stop.  Whatever.  I poked around a few other forums for a while and stayed at WRH for a while - until I couldn't stand the negativity of talking to the same 2 people every day.  Now I'm here.  I have NO expectations. 

Happily, so far, I find the quality of the posts stimulating and well thought out and written - not just mindless backlash and goofy snippets.  Well, I'm probably doing something I hate - commandeering a thread.  We should probably get back on subject so I'll shut up now.

this is very very very very very very smart. i had this revelation a while back, it is profound.

what i came to the conclusion of is that expectations MAKE people take things for granted. expectations MAKE people lazy. expectations MAKE people fail.

all because they expected something , and it didnt happen.

not having expectations makes you more aware and "on the ball" - ready to rock, ready for anything really,  ya know? its "living in the now" 

dunno, just thought id throw that out there as it stood out for me.

Hey Zon,

I was going to comment on the same thing....tough lesson to learn. The Toltec teachings in the "four agreements" puts it "Don't make assupmtions" Basically not having any expectations.
