Interesting designs.  Also interesting that the best "eye" is the preferred entry, eh.

Re: 2008 Beijing Olympics: National Stadium Design with reptilian features

well, maybe it is just because we can't wait to get our tickets or we are sitting here in one more stunned state...

but can you clarify what we are supposed to be seeing in the lower right handed corner...and the best eye is the entry...well, both eyes seem equal.

help us out,

palulukon and thook

It's all mind over matter. If you don't mind it doesn't matter...

Re: 2008 Beijing Olympics: National Stadium Design with reptilian features

palulukon: I wanted to point out the lower right-hand side picture for the first project (B01) as seen on the original site and the second link is just an enlarged version of it. It's the most striking design in terms of its strong reptilian eye resemblance. Rotate it 90 degrees counterclockwise. You can see a red slit pupil, creased grey eyelids surronded by green areas. Together with marked corners of the eye and the river posing as an eyebrow it may also look similar to the eye of Horus.

B11 is the 'scheme recommended by evaluation panel', though.

Re: 2008 Beijing Olympics: National Stadium Design with reptilian features

ps, our neighbor told thook that the olympics will only be in china if they clean up the air...that in daytime it looks like night the air is so polluted...

anyone else hear about this?
