Topic: your t.v. is watching you

I have heard talk of the new sattelite receivers and digital cable boxes being able to follow the users channels and viewing habits....

More disturbingly, and potentially more absurd (seemingly), is a contention that back in the 1970's the CIA developed and instrumented the 1976 reported Teleguard TG2 DE monitoring device which began to be installed in all t.v. sets allowing the transmission of all activities and sounds in front of the set to sattelite and CIA headquarters... supposedly confirmed in a 1993 investigation.

I know this may be 'propaganda' for fear-based agendas and for dis-info, rumor spreading...

I do remember the 1988 John Carpenter sci-fi cult classic alien-agenda film 'They Live' where t.v. sets are said to be transmiting consciousness-suppressing subliminal messages that put the viewer in a sort of 'sleep' like state/trance... they remarked that even when the set is turned off, the set still transmits signals to the human brain, re-wiring it in effect, and 'brainwashing' humanity...

Some bizarre possibilities and/or realities and semi-truths...

Re: your t.v. is watching you

Thought this recent quote from one of my favoriate designer was good for this stagnant topic:

Is it just me...

...or do your eyes fixate on the empty center of this Michael Jackson Trial graphic that E! has been plugging non-stop? Every time it comes on TV, I feel like my eyes are going cross-eyed. That space between the "L" and "J" is not just wide, but dead center in the layout. I can barely look at it without feeling like I'm about to fall down a hole. Okay, maybe it's just me. Nevermind.

What do you think?
